Excellent selection of new pull comics, which at some shops these days is hard to find. Back of the store is mostly comprised of longboxes on tables, with a large selection. Better longboxes are on the tables with some budget longboxes located on the floor. The good selection of toys and collectables just makes Comics World even more well-rounded. This might be the best kept secret in the southern Pennsylvania comic book shop scene and I would absolutely return here.

It was hard to decide prices ranging from $60+ to $7. However, after browsing the selection, my mom and I picked two items each! It took me and her about 2 hours and cost $50, which wasn't bad at all. The only reason I give four stars and not 5 the workers when we walked in were just sitting talking didn't really engage with us or show us around ask if it was our 1st time I had to tell them. Also, when painting, I thought they would come around to see if we needed anything or look at our work and tell us we need more layers I had to ask. However, personally, they were still nice, just not as engaged as i would like. All in all a great experience and super fun I will be back.

My wife and I were excited to end our first ever trip to Ice Fest by making a pottery souvenir. We…read morehad seen the Facebook advertisement to make a coffee mug with Carlisle Ice Fest stencils. However, our experience painting pottery left us very frustrated and determined never to return to this business when we're next in town. We've painted pottery in numerous studios in Maryland and New Hampshire, so we understand the basics of the process. When we entered the studio, no one greeted us or was seemingly working there to answer our questions. We wanted to know if there was a studio fee or if that was included in the pottery prices. Despite advertising the mugs, they were not easily identified as being the special. The staff, and I'm reluctant to actually call them employees, we're giggly teenagers who were more interested in chatting then helping customers. We had to stand in the check out line to get basic questions answered and ended up waiting for the owner to come over to have the stencil process explained. In addition to the lack of support from the staff, the owner/manager was busy running an adjacent store selling teas and other goods. As a result, it appeared no one was actually managing the pottery studio. Focusing on either the pottery studio or the other store instead of poorly running both would have improved everyone's experiences. The owner was gracious enough to ship our mugs to our home in Maryland. However, the packaging was poor and resulted in chipping one mug and completely cracking the other. Luckily, we can use the Japanese kintsugi technique to salvage our mugs as candle holders instead of their intended purpose.

I think Mall is a bit of a push, but nonetheless, the number of booths and inventory they've fit in both the upstairs and downstairs sections was impressive. There's a lot of glassware and ceramic ware if you compare the overall breakdown of content. There were a couple vendors on site while we shopped who stopped by to say hello while we checked out their booths. Overall a pretty nice atmosphere to take one's time and find some good items. Pricing wise it is all over the place, the higher end (higher quality or rarity) items are priced accordingly. While there is a decent amount of expensive items there is also a good selection of affordable finds. I guess it all depends on the buyer's target items. Will definitely keep it in mind for our next jaunt down the Turnpike!

This has become my 10-year-old son's favorite retro store. We have visited about 10 times since…read morediscovering it this past summer. It has very good pricing and a great selection of games and consoles. Consoles generally range from the Atari VCS (2600) to seventh generation (360, DS, Wii, PS3). Consoles come with one controller and the attachments needed to hook the system up to a TV. The console software is pretty extensive, starting with the NES and running up through 7th gen. Most of the handheld is Gameboy and DS. Once again, their selection is rather well rounded. Some of the more premium titles are located in the display case back by the register. There are also some rare curiosities in the collection that were pleasant surprises ( I never expected to see a full catalog of Virtual Boy software on display anywhere ). Something to be aware of is that any retro purchases can sometimes not work out. We have had one GBA cart and an XBOX cd fail to start when trying out the software at home. The store has a very generous return policy. I believe as long as you bring back the title within 10, they will accept returns and exchanges. The staff is very friendly and will always try to help out. In our cases, the store gave us a direct exchange on the scratched XBOX disc after trying to repair it instore, and a full refund for the GBA game. The store also has other typical collections (Trading Card Games, Funko Pops and other figurines). These are not my area of expertise, so I can't comment on the selection or prices. Several arcade machines are set on free-to-play mode at the store entrance to round out the experience. If vintage video games are your thing, then Retro Loot is definitely worth checking out.

The plain-fronted one story building hides a treasure trove of high quality original pottery and the large working studio where it is made. You enter into a small but well-laden gallery/shop with table top and tiered display shelving. While there are many, many pieces to look at, there is still a restful feeling. It took me three or four passes to feel like I'd satisfactorily grasped what was there. Everyday useful objects such as teapots, mugs, serving dishes, candlesticks, pie plates, pitchers, bowls, cream and sugar, bread trays and even mail and sponge holders project beauty and function. A few steps takes you into the studio area but also includes many more for sale items. The predominant color range includes blue greens, tans and browns, with some creams and grays. The owner, Mark Fitzgerald, will do custom work and have it ready in under a month, typically. Having honed his craft/his art for over fifty years, his work has breadth and energy and mastery. Prices are very reasonable Service (courtesy of owner Mark) was solicitous and extremely helpful. Having noticed that I walk with a cane, he automatically carried my packages to the car, which I had easily parked immediately adjacent to the entrance.
