I had been wanting to go to this establishment for a long time now and finally made it in last weekend. There is so much to pick from it. It was hard to decide prices ranging from $60+ to $7. However, after browsing the selection, my mom and I picked two items each! It took me and her about 2 hours and cost $50, which wasn't bad at all. The only reason I give four stars and not 5 the workers when we walked in were just sitting talking didn't really engage with us or show us around ask if it was our 1st time I had to tell them. Also, when painting, I thought they would come around to see if we needed anything or look at our work and tell us we need more layers I had to ask. However, personally, they were still nice, just not as engaged as i would like. All in all a great experience and super fun I will be back. read more

My wife and I were excited to end our first ever trip to Ice Fest by making a pottery souvenir. We had seen the Facebook advertisement to make a coffee mug with Carlisle Ice Fest stencils. However, our experience painting pottery left us very frustrated and determined never to return to this business when we're next in town. We've painted pottery in numerous studios in Maryland and New Hampshire, so we understand the basics of the process. When we entered the studio, no one greeted us or was seemingly working there to answer our questions. We wanted to know if there was a studio fee or if that was included in the pottery prices. Despite advertising the mugs, they were not easily identified as being the special. The staff, and I'm reluctant to actually call them employees, we're giggly teenagers who were more interested in chatting then helping customers. We had to stand in the check out line to get basic questions answered and ended up waiting for the owner to come over to have the stencil process explained. In addition to the lack of support from the staff, the owner/manager was busy running an adjacent store selling teas and other goods. As a result, it appeared no one was actually managing the pottery studio. Focusing on either the pottery studio or the other store instead of poorly running both would have improved everyone's experiences. The owner was gracious enough to ship our mugs to our home in Maryland. However, the packaging was poor and resulted in chipping one mug and completely cracking the other. Luckily, we can use the Japanese kintsugi technique to salvage our mugs as candle holders instead of their intended purpose. read more

We went to create-A-Palooza for our ninth wedding anniversary. We actually go by the traditional wedding anniversary gifts so we thought this would be a fun thing to do together The experience was wonderful and the customer service was great. There was a large selection of pottery to choose from to paint, and of course every color was available. This is a great thing to do for people of all ages! And we have cute keepsakes for our ninth anniversary. read more

My daughter and I visited yesterday and had a great time! When picking your piece of pottery, the price includes as many glaze colors as you'd like and firing. No additional fees like some other places. We spent several hours there finishing our items. The staff was friendly and very kind and patient with my seven year old who lost interest in finishing her project after the second coat. The other customers were also very kind. While we were there, they hosted two parties and several other guests but we still had all the supplies we needed and staff to help when needed. We are excited to return and pick up our items and to revisit with my other children. We will definitely go back! They recently moved to this location in High st from the Plaza Mall. The building is very old and they have done some reno/restoration to it. Update: We picked up our items and they look fabulous!! We will defiantly return! read more

This is a great place for Girl Scouts to earn their badges. We did a brownie painting try it here and now the Junior Drawing badge. Mrs. Griffith did a great job hitting all the badge requirements. The cost is reasonable for a troop too. We paid less than $20 per kid for two projects. We'll be back when they are Cadettes. read more

What a wonderful place! When visiting family in town for the holidays, we decided to have a family painting night together. We were all a bit overly ambitious in picking out ceramics to paint (we were first-timers and didn't know what we were doing). As such, we ended up needing to come in for a total of over 7 hours over the course of a few days to finish our projects. Karen, the owner, was so very patient with us and incredibly kind. She made sure that we had all the tools and paints we needed to make our projects. She had exactly the right balance of being available to answer questions and give us additional information without seeming in the way or overbearing. She even offered to let us borrow some paints to take home to work on our pieces outside of the studio's open hours. That kind of generosity and customer service is a true gift. Beyond that, the ambiance of the place is perfect for unleashing an inner artist. As a very old building, the original features of the home have been marked and dated, making it fun to wonder about what the 1860's original wall-paper must have seen in its time! The prices for the pieces are incredibly reasonable, and without additional sitting fees or firing fees, the fun-per-dollar ratio is a fantastic one. We also found a fantastic deal on Living Social, making the experience even more of bargain. In sum, I would highly recommend Create-A-Palooza to individuals, couples, families, and anyone else who has an interest in being creative! read more

Really fun place to paint pottery. They provide all the tools and clean up the mess! Lots of fun. Can't wait to go back and try it again!

Found them due to the penguins, and, boy, are we glad we did! Staff was very helpful - both in person and in responding to emails quickly. No extra fees, which we appreciated.
