This is a brightly-lit, well-stocked, and fun place to visit. The staff is friendly, they remember you and your interests, and point out titles and upcoming events they think you might be interested in. I love the fact they carry toys, games, and books across many genres so there's weird and unusual items to browse and buy. They have frequent events and sales, plus they move items out through a clearance bin that always has something interesting. What I love most about the place is how outgoing it is. Customers talking fandom with the staff, sharing experiences and opinions (sometimes they have a "NO SPOILERS" sign up when a big movie comes out) makes this more than a shop. This review is for the Mechanicsburg location. The best selection of back issues on the west shore! Lots of new broad games as well! The staff is amazing! I was unable to pick up my books for a week and I knew there was a Hell Arisen #3 ( a very hot issue at the time going for big bucks on ebay) in my box. The store run out due to demand and could have sold mine and made some quick cash. They did the honest thing and I got my issue! Very happy customer! read more

While planning a nerd pilgrimage around Harrisburg Metro Area Comic, Gaming, and DVD shops this was recommended to me by a friend who said it's one of the better Comic Book shops in the area. After our first stop at an "not to be named" shop with less then enthusiastic service and poor organization, this store was the polar opposite. Store was average sized but very well stocked with comics. Long boxes with older issues line the one wall, new and recent comics on the other wall, oldest/rarest behind the counter, and in the back is an full size Silver Surfer. Staff were quite knowledgeable, pleasant to talk with, and gladly answered questions. Biggest complaint from my friend was they had some collectables, not but as many as he would have liked to see. Absolutely worth a stop if your in the area to this clean and well organized store. read more

I often go here from out of town. I like the layout of the store. Not so much the layou of the comics order. It can be slightly confusing. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. The selection of comics is above anything I have seen in the state. The location is really solid but can be tough to get in and out of at times and parking can be trouble at times. They have good sales and prices. They carry pretty much any graphic novel you could want. read more

Initially found due to their Magic the Gathering stock. A little on the pricey side at 4-5 bucks a booster pack but sometimes it's worth a dollar to keep from driving across the river 20 minutes away. They sell a decent amount of board games, but you can definitely tell their strong suit is in their comic books and superhero collectibles. Their entire front case is just filled with stuff that screams nerdgasm. I have had both good and not so good experience with the employees. Some are very friendly and willing to help even if you don't ask for it, and others could care less if you fell over in a fit of epilepsy, C'est la vie.. read more

This is the closest comic shop to my area, and I could have asked for a better shop. The times I've asked them to hold items, the staff had been nothing but gracious and accommodating. It is a small store, but they make up for it by having the walls and most of the floor space crammed with comics. In addition, they have some collectables, board games, and other kinds of books, like Dungeons & Dragons rulebooks. My only complaint is that they are a bit scarce with collectables, in comparison to other comic shops in the area. Overall, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better comic shop in the area. read more

This is not the biggest comic store that I've ever been too but it is the best. As a matter fact, even though I am very new to the hobby, I've been to a ton of comic stores. Every Friday we go to a different one local and not. Comix Connection is not just a comic shop, it is a home. Hell, people from work tell me it's my third home. Joe, the manager, is very down-to-earth and understanding - sometimes we talk for hours about various BS. Jesse is fun and knowledgeable - we talk about our Pop! collections forever. John has a taste pretty much like mine and has recommended TONS of stuff to me - ALL of which has been great. Nicky - I don't see very often but is super kind and helpful. And she opened my eyes to my favorite book of all time, Lazarus - I am forever grateful. Cecil the reason that I love this comic shop over in the other is because it is my comic show. You walk in there and you feel like it is yours. It's less like a comic store and more like the bar Cheers - where everybody knows your name. And being from Boston that means something : ) read more

You can get a mix of the old and the new comics here. Plus you can get a box and have specific comics put in there so you can just go in and give them a box number and have all your favorites ready to go right away. read more

Been here a few times because they have a lot of events...and appreciate the coupons they give out. Great atmosphere...they always have cool music playing. Even though it's not my local shop, the staff always makes me feel at home. read more

Not the greatest selection of comics unless you are looking for new stuff. They hardly have any back issues past the last few years. Unfortunately, went on Sunday so the person that I needed to speak to about trading was not in. Understandable though. I will say that the young guy behind the counter was extremely pleasant, patient, and professional. My son loved going through the bargain boxes and picked tons of stuff for his collection. I walked out with 3 comics. He also talked me in to picking up a grab bag....and then another because he liked the contents so much. We were both pleasantly surprised by what he got for $10 each. If he were giving this review it would definitely be 5 stars. However, I didn't find too much that would keep me coming back. In my opinion, this shop is great for the younger collectors....new issues, graphic novels, other stuff I know nothing about, etc. That said, maybe their parents should just drop them off and wait. read more

I love the Mechanicsburg store. Been a regular since maybe 9th or 10 grade, and I'm now 29. First started going there, when it was by the Barnes and Noble, at the Camp Hill mall. Had a box there for about as long. Soon as I walk in the door, Joe knows exactly which box to pull out without having to ask. Also love that I can email him, and let him know which titles to add or drop from my hold list. Actually have had them hold a few Vampire Hunter D novels that I couldn't get at Borders or Barnes and Noble. read more
