I went to the Brazilian campus of FBC Orlando. It was very full of life! I am really rusty on Portuguese, but I still did not seek out translation- which I understand they offer. It was wonderful to learn the songs in Portuguese- I caught on to most of them about half way through. The message (I understood about 20%) was engaging. Probably would have been much more engaging if I was able to understand a greater amount- but even 20% was good. There is an English service in the main building. This campus is a smaller building, but it is very comfortable with a good amount of space. The lyrics and main points of the sermon are projected clearly as well. I totally recommend this church for anyone seeking a Brazilian Portuguese language church. read more

after the last 2 services being almost fully self serving in speaking about changes in the churches org chart with foreshadowing of multiple services that are to come in coming weeks in the same way I will longer be attending First Orlando. To waste the time of thousands of members who spend hours getting ready, getting to and attending service only to hear about internal politics is tone deaf, disrespectful and tacky and more importantly does not reflect what church is about. These services and the ones to come should have and could have been an email. after passing my feedback and the fact that I heard multiple other members noting the same feelings I was a little shocked and disappointed that the reception was effectively thanks for your input. Thanks but no thanks, I've seen enough. read more

Truly bible based. This feels like a bible study every Sunday. I believe this is how it should be. It's not just giving opinions, it's citing the source as well. They encourage you to join the jet groups after service and throughout the week, they serve EVERYWHERE! The posters are very down to earth and kind. They stand at the front or the back (there's more than one leading Paster) I asked them to pray over my newborn and they did on the spot. Very heart touching. They have a women's and babies area where you can go to get baby supplies as needed each Sunday, they also provide ultrasounds and more. Although it's big, stay a while and it becomes smaller. The size makes it where they are able to do more things with the congregation. They SUPPORT PARENTS of young children with nursing rooms, specified areas to sit, and nursery for the baby. Their Christmas services are amazing! It's also wonderful to constantly see others starting their walk into the faith with baptisms . Talking about the review complaining about politics. I have been there when they "talk about politics" twice. (In one year) once when a bill was needed to be passed by citizens about abortions. They cited the Bible , I DO find this appropriate. They also cited in the Bible that talks about why they should be vocal. The other time was after Charlie Kirk was killed, they spoke on Hite evil of the world, and that no one should experience this & to lead further into Christ. Lastly when talking about creation they read the first chapter of the first book genesis stating that God made us in his image, as a man or a woman. They spoke about how we were made to be who God created us to be and cited their sources in multiple places. This IS appropriate because they are not spewing their opinions, they are telling us what the Bible says and they are not watering it down or bending it to what they want. read more

I love going to church to worship. I don't want to hear about politics. This pastor has brought politics to the church and those things should stay separate regardless of your political beliefs it's not something I want to hear about from a pastor. read more

Great biblical gospel preaching. Music was great as well. Very friendly. Pastors were totally approachable.

Pastor David preaches the Bible making it relevant to daily living as most preachers do. However, he makes one feel like we are just sitting around the kitchen table having a cup of coffee being blessed, learning the word of God, and how he has applied it to his life. The staff and worship team are great from what I seen and heard and you can see their impact of how God uses them in their roles. Now it is a BIG Church for sure but gives one many options to get involved. read more

We, with friends, went on a bus tour to this church for a lovely buffet dinner, then to an area where animals are in pens (not cages) and lastly to watch the performance of The Singing Christmas Trees in this huge church. Oh my gosh...spectacular doesn't even begin to describe this event. The trees hold many people who sing...an orchestra plays incredible music, lights, décor, light snow briefly comes down. There are 'skits' that are well done by children and adults in great, colorful costumes. The highlight is...the birth of Baby Jesus. Joseph, Mary and Baby Jesus, an angel floats down, 3 wise-men, shepherds, live animals on stage including a camel...WOW! read more

Having grown up in "the church," gone to a Bible based college, and doing studies on my own, I thought I was pretty informed "Biblically." After attending services and watching on tv, I realize I have so much to learn. EVERY SINGLE SERVICE, God shows me new and wonderful things about His vision for me. First Baptist Orlando is definitely a leader in Orlando. They pour back into the community like no one else. You will see a multicultural mixture of members. They offer traditional or contemporary services with translations in Spanish and Portuguese. They also have a Spanish service as well. It's a kid friendly environment, an active youth and college ministry too. Come check it out. I'm a member and I love it. read more

That said, I found service at First Baptist last week to be less than thrilling. Contemporary Christian music is horrible, and though they try, they really can't put lipstick on this pig. I'd more likely wake up to some old hymns than you-are-holy-holy nothingrock. Just saying. Give me something I can sink my teeth into. My first time attending FBO was two years ago. To this day the church as a whole are still as loving, welcoming, accepting, non-judgemental and deeply caring. I assumed I would feel out of place and ignored because of the size of the church but I was wrong. I felt (and still feel) at home, despite the size. It really does feel like a small family church. I'm so thankful for the leadership and all those who volunteer their time, too. They all have such passion for God, people and serving others. The sermons are top notch and biblically based. There are traditional and contemporary style services. The music is on point! There are so many ways to get involved with the church; Life Groups (on and off campus), Celebrate Recovery, ACTS classes, children's ministries, youth ministries, college ministries and even adult and senior ministries. First Baptist Church of Orlando is a huge church! They have a massive sanctuary along with all kinds of other big buildings for worship, fellowship, and education. I went here for the first time this summer with some friends for a Promise Keepers event. We had a really good experience. It was a great event and the senior pastor, Dr. Uth, spoke and some point and I was really impressed with him. I haven't been to a normal Sunday service, but I can recommend this church to just about anyone that is visiting Orlando or if you are a local looking for a solid Baptist experience. read more

I've never been to this church but I just read all the reviews. The one star review stood out so I looked at the reviews other reviews. He makes fun of Jesus, says the bible "is stupid", and a lot of his reviews are with just unclever attempts to try to be clever or about beer or bars. I seriously doubt either 1) he attended the church or 2) he's an authoritative on what a church/Christian service is. Do your own due diligence when you consider every review. read more

I've been going to this church for about one year now and after visiting several churches in the Orlando area I find this to be my church of choice now. I love the humility and authenticity of Pastor David. And that seems to have flowed out to the pews. I've recently got involved with the singles group that I enjoy as well. There is wonderful music in the services and much diversity in the church itself! I would recommend those looking for a solid church to visit sometime. read more

If Christ is drawing you to himself, this is a great place to start becoming more grounded in the Word since Pastor David is wonderful at making it very personable and yet accurate! It's also a great place to Fellowship in the LIFE groups or go deeper in the ACTS classes. I've been a member a long time because of the great heart of this church that supports ago many other ministries. So I can truly testify that by giving I have been given much more in return. And yet no church is perfect but than neither am I. Just look and see that it is God who lead us anyway, and His Son who makes us acceptable, an only on His rock solid foundation has this church been built! That kind of trumps any other comment I could make. Seek Him first and the rest will work itself out through the power of the Holy Spirit. -Love ya Orlando! read more

This was my first visit to this church and my first church service ever in Florida. I was looking to see where God would take me for a new church home. I am not saying this is it, but so far so good. I went on easter so the service was gonna be a tad different from the regular service. I must admit I was impressed with the sanctuary. It was nice and roomy with plenty of seats to go around and the sound system was awesome. I liked how they have the baptismal pool up top where everyone can see it. (What a special moment in your life to give to Christ) Also the band was definitely on point with the music and the worship leaders were also very very good. I thought the pastor did a great job in communicating his message about the importance of the day and what it represented for so many Christians around the world. The reenactment was also 4 stars!!!!!!! They showed what happened to jesus and the ultimate sacrifice He made for us by dying on the cross, only to rise on the 3rd day. ( If your not sure what happened, you can look it up in a bible or somewhere online). The campus was huge!!!!!!! I mean plenty of parking and a nice sized lobby area in the welcome center. Overall I can tell that God had blessed this place and will continue to do so. If He leads me here, then I will definitely be happy. read more

it seems weird to review churches right? But how else can you do your research with so many churches in the area. I love this church, this church is my home. I wasn't raised in a church or with a church background so I'm not comparing them to any other church. FBO is good place to start if you're looking to meet new people and form a community, it's so big which means there are a lot of different ways you can connect and be connected. While the majority of the church is white, there is a big Spanish/Portuguese attendance. I wish there were more ministers on staff that reflected the congregation but the pastors are all amazing. The music is contemporary and they have a Saturday early evening service for if you can't make it on Sunday. Give it a chance go one day and I really think you'll like it. One of the things I like best about the church is you don't have to be a member to participate any many of the events or life groups they have at the church, it's open to all. read more

Life changing every visit...as real as it gets. This is an incredible house of worship. Please attend at least once.
