Our Male Dachshund arrived to our home on October 28, 2011. We did not receive a registration number with AKC nor did we receive AKC paperwork in the mail as promised in an e-mail on October 24, 2011. We sent an e-mail requesting the AKC paperwork again on November 13, 2011 with no response. We sent a certified letter signed for on 12/10/2011 with no response. On 12/23/2011 we received an e-mail which stated that AKC was backed up on DNA testing, that the sire had to be DNA tested, according to AKC the explanation that I received from the breeder is incorrect. I am going to contact the AKC and the BBB and the Attorney General's office in regards to this. What really bad business and poor customer care. My husband and myself breed Labradors once a year, we know what goes into a healthy dog and all the certifications we have on our dogs. This Dachshund is our daughter's dog and we have already had him neutered. We are dog lovers and they are all a big part of our family, living in our home with us. We chose specifically to acquire an AKC dog as we know the standards that AKC sets for the better of every breed. I am really bothered that I have to now contact all these people to simply get the AKC paperwork that should have already been sent by Cornerstone Farms. Be cautious when considering this breeder. I also feel like this breeder attempted to be a bully when realizing that I voiced my concerns/complaints. December 23, 2011 a message I received from Cornerstone Farms that I copied and pasted below: I am in amazement that you as a "breeder" would stoop to this. Even IF you only produce one litter a year, you have bred dogs before. You never identified yourself as a breeder so telling the truth isn't your way of handling business I guess. On Oct.24th you signed YOUR email "God bless". I NEVER signed ANY that way. Mine were signed 'blessings". I sign my emails "blessings" , why do you have a problem with that? I checked my emails, none say your a breeder. I also counted them. I have seven emails from you and 6 are answered. The only one not answered is the one on Nov.13th. I am human and missed it. Then I emailed you the registration number as soon as I heard you were upset. December 23, 2011 My response pasted below: First of all, we didn't acquire our Dachshund for breeding purposes, hence why we had him neutered within days of receiving him. There was nothing to disclose about us having puppies once a year and donating them to organizations that train service dogs for disabled veterans. As far as your excuse with AKC, we already had contacted AKC and it is you who are not truthful. You failed to answer my request for the papers on November 13, and the certified letter we sent to you signed for on December 10, 2011 was again ignored. I have ALL the e-mails, the certified letter, and all other correspondences I have gathered concerning this matter which I have forwarded to AKC, The Attorney General, and The Better Business Bureau. I was going to just respond simply with my opinion about the ritters and say that my little girl arrived wonderful and happy. But after reading some of the postings I have to laugh and the silly things I'm reading and wonder if people read what they are saying? First let me say the ritters were wonderful to work with and we have nothing poor to say about them. They actually went out of there way to drive my puppy to me when my vehicle broke down and I could not keep the appointment. If anyone is actually reading this stuff being left and your looking at dates, the woman with the dachshund should be ashamed. You posted your feedback on 12/21/11 but your comments say your quoting emails from 12/23/11? Are you psychic? I'm just asking... My husband says I don't speak my mind enough as I'm a teacher and tend to just keep to my self. When my friend emailed me and said that someone was railing the ritters, I couldn't really keep quiet. Its a shame that you three or four people are so vindictive that you'd lie and deceive people just to hurt someone who has not acted the way you want them to. I tell my students that's called a temper tantrum. You all need a time out. I don't doubt that the ritters maybe did something that was less than perfect but can any of you walk on water? I know I cant. I don't hold anyone to a standard of perfection because I don't want to be held to that standard myself. I'm not sure what kind of people do ridiculous things like these two nutty ladies who have started this crap on several sites but I have purchased three dogs from the Ritters and I have recommended no less than 15 families to cornerstone farms. I was contacted by my neighbor who just bought a healthy and happy puppy who found this crap when he googled the farm. First of all I know for a fact that the Ritters have NEVER sold to a pet store because that's what puppy brokers do. So the lady in AZ your a liar. Secondly I can tell your for a fact that you absolutely can not have giardia in your well, lady your an even bigger dumb person. Wells are to deep for bacteria like that to live and giardia is viable in water but in surface water. In dog kennels it is usually contracted by dogs who drink from bowls that are not cleaned regularly. I can tell you from first hand that the ritters use a auto water system. I seen it myself that the dogs lick this tube and it gives them water. They dont use bowls. Giardia can be passed between humans too. I think this lady had it from her two other dogs and improper cleaning and is looking to blame someone. I own a retail shop and deal with stupid all the time and it really burns my bottom when a family who clearly is a good family has people who have other motives in mind while they abuse decent people. I feel obligated to leave a positive review since on Yelp it seems very negative. Before conducting business with the Ritter Family, my wife and I researched outside the Yelp box. For instance, the BBB gave them an A rating. Yesterday our family received a 13 week old female labradoodle by air freight from Cornerstone Farms. The transaction went smooth. Our new "Callie Rose" is amazing. She is surprisingly mild tempered for a puppy, and what ever initial dog training they are doing, it works. I honestly think she is house broken already. She doesn't jump on people or chew on inappropriate things. So far when I say "no", she looks at me and follows my command. Today we brought her to the vet, no issues. We are waiting for stool sample results, but so far everything checks out okay; Shots are up to date, microchip, good weight. I've experienced heartbreak before when purchasing a dog a few years ago. Independent Airedale Terrier breeder. Poor pup died of pneumonia at 7 months. Unfortunately tragedies happen. Callie is replacing our 12 year old Westie that died last year. All I can say is our experience with Cornerstone Farms, Ritter Family, has been positive with communication even after the purchase. HORRIBLE!!!! If I could give 0 stars, I would. I almost bought a puppy from Debbie, then I saw they were on the HUMANE SOCIETIES TOP 100 PUPPY MILL LIST!!! Google Cornerstone Farms and you will be horrified at what comes up. After I saw that, I immediately asked for my money back and of course Debbie said the reports are false. She has friends putting in fake positive reviews for them! She even had one of her friends call me (she gave out my phone number to someone I didn't know without my permission) trying to tell me what a great person Debbie is. Then her friend kept texting me over and over! It wasn't until I threatened legal action, did she finally refund my money. If you want to risk getting a sick puppy who may not make it to its first birthday, go right ahead. Otherwise RUN!!!! **She even voids the health guarantee if you buy a puppy and post a bad review before contacting her first. That right there should be a HUGE red flag!!!** She even relisted the puppy I put a deposit down on, back on puppyfind. Google "humane society 100 worst puppy mills" and you will find them on that list year after year because they had sick puppies and the puppies had blood in their stool. Today I got the shock of my life. My husband and I are looking to purchase another Pomsky so our fur baby Bella can have a brother... I was on the web checking out breeders in CA since that's where we live, when I got an idea.. see a little over a year ago we bought a pomsky female named Bella from New Beginnings Breeders ( the Ritter's ) in Missouri, and everything went awesome... So I decided to look them up again, where to my amazement (SHOCKED) I seen all these reviews of them being a puppy mill... How they mistreated their animals.. and how sometimes buyers were getting sick puppies, or for that matter, not ever receiving their puppies at all. I'm not here to agree or disagree with anybody's reviews, I'm just here to share mine... mine and my husband's experience was awesome with this company everything they promised, they did. We received a perfectly healthy dog, correct paperwork, and got her the day they said we would.. Bella was flown to us by plane, she came in a brand new carry kennel, with a blanket, a toy, and a weeks worth of food ( Sealed pack ) that she was on. I guess you can say we were the lucky ones, cuz I couldn't imagine not having this beautiful fur baby in our lives. read more

I contacted Cornerstone Farms about the adorable Havanese puppies they raise. Lindsey went through brain cancer and brain surgery so she was not able to keep her puppy but wanted another one now that she was done with therapy and surgery. The Ritter Family responded right away and offered to give Lindsey the puppy since they are both cancer survivors who wanted to help...I was amazed, shocked but it was real and we drove out to meet our new puppy. The Ritter Family was great, they have a large 60 acre farm where the kids, grandkids and everyone cares for the animals. The puppies were clean, friendly and adorable and the environment was more like a daycare with puppies playing in playpens with toys. Lindsey played with the puppies for about an hour before one picked her as 'mom'. We sat and talked with the Ritter Family for about an hour after that learning about their care for children they adopted from all over the world. We had a chance to play with several puppies, see the 'puppy kindergarten' and meet the family members who raise each breed. It was a LONG drive but it was great to see a family who really cares for the animals they raise...and we love our new Havanese puppy! read more

I purchased a boston terrier puppy from the Ritters in may , 2012(last month). The day I received her, she had a terrible cough, diarrhea & dirty ears. I informed Debra Ritters that she had bad congestion, cough, wheezing & bloody diarrhea and that I was taking her to my vet on monday (I received her on a friday, called vet sat., got appointment for mon.). She said it made no sense that my pup had these problems& to let her know what vet said. She was diagnosed with kennel cough &ear bad case of earmites. I sent Mrs. Ritters a message telling her the diagnosis &to have never heard back from her yet. You'd think she would've checked back. After spending $795. for my puppy, I had to take her to the vet 2 times the first week, resulting in $150. in vet bills.at one point she was so bad she was gasping for breath! Now, two antibiotics, steroids, stomache medcine &cough meds &earmite drops she finally seems better except she still has diarrhea. I understand things happen, but to pay good$$ for a new puppy &to have to go through all the vet visits & bills is extremely dissapointing. Did anyone else buy a boston terrier d.o.b. march 13? I was highly skeptical after reading some awful information blasted about this breeder. Doing my own research a lot of those cake back from the PETA folks trying to shut down the dog breeders in the state. I have had my most loving Cavapoo for going on 4 years now and she is the most sweetest, mild tempered, cuddly and non shedding companion I have ever had. We get her full panels every year including her heart, liver and lungs and she is just absolutly perfect. I never got to visit the farm to pick her up but she came home to us at 1.8 lbs. and she was the runt. They were very hesitant to let me have her but I told them I would be very diligent with her and make sure she is my top priority. She nursed for those two extra weeks with her mama let the owners discretion and that was a great decision for her health. She came home to me at just a little peanut size but that didn't mean she wasn't perfect. She is now a thriving 5.5 lbs full grown girl and the best thing I could ever ask for. I purchased a schnauzer from the ritters for my wife as a gift for her birthday. When he arrived he was happy and healthy but the paperwork was in an envelope and it was open. We later learned that the airlines had opened it to check it for some reason related to 9/11. The ritters got additional papers and sent them on to us promptly. That was the only issue we had with our puppy and it was not an issue the breeder could have helped. Our family has only ever purchased this one dog from them but I can say we did our homework. We had already been taken advantage of by another breeder which is why we had to make another purchase. The ritters answered all of our questions and sent pics when we asked. sometimes it took a day or two but I just assumed that it was due to them running a business. Im sure they were not just sitting by the computer waiting for me to email. We did refer my wifes boss to cornerstone farms and to my knowledge he was very pleased and purchased a puppy as well. Hello Ritter Family, I just wanted to take time out to sit down and write a review and also give you a update on how (Dew) AKA (Romeo) is doing. First let me just say thank you from the bottom of my heart he has a great personality, very lovable & smartest Chihuahua ever. I couldn't have been happier with my pick and I have you to thank for that. I have never purchased a puppy from a website so I wasn't sure what to expect but you answered all my questions and keep me updated through it all with calls and pictures. Even though we had ruff time getting him shipped due to Mother Nature but in the end the wait was all worth it. He is one spoiled baby he get so much love and attention from everyone. He now weights 2.2. So he is still growing day by day. Due to him being a small breed I didn't think he would like the snow but boy does he love to roll in it and have a great time. So we purchased our first dog a couple of years ago from the Ritter family and had no problems what so ever. I didn't leave a review then as I didn't know about yelp or even websites like yelp. I contacted the Ritters last week as we were ready for our little boy to have a playmate and my second child wanted her own cavapoo. After speaking with Debra and Kaitlyn we came to a decision on a puppy and set a date for her to come home. We received her without any issues and she was as everything we hoped for and more. I decided to leave a review this time because it was brought to our attention that there are those who have claimed to have issues with the Ritters. To their experiences I cant speak, but to the family I can. They have been nothing but wonderful. I didn't always get emails or txt messages when I asked but close to it. I bought my male Shiba Inu, formally known as Thunder, from Cornerstone back in May 2017. I did a lot of research and ran into some bad publicity, but also some good. After a lot of thought I decided to pull the trigger and purchase little thunder. I wouldn't changed one thing! The communication with the breeder was great and Mallow is SUCH a sweet, cuddly, handsome young shiba. Much more "dog like" than my other shiba, which really shocked me . If you know Shibas you know they are a very independent "cat like" dog, Mallow is a stinking peach! We love him so so much and couldn't have bought a more perfect dog! The one thing I was worried about Mallow is that he is a super fast eater, which worries me because I don't want him to choke and/or make himself sick. I don't know what the cause is of the really fast eating, but we purchased a special bowl and worked with him while he is eating to slow down and not be aggressive- overall perfect pup, no issues at all. My husband let me buy a chocolate/tan yorkie. I wasn't completely sure at first. After talking with the Ritters they made me feel very confortable! I bought the little Max, who I changed to Hershey. He is doing great and was for sure socialized. He bred with my female yorkie and is just a great pup. Also they sent me vet papers, breeding rights, and their contract. That contract is right on the website for those who don't know how to read before jumping into things. In the future I plan to buy a female yorkie that is chocolate and Tan. Also prices are great because people are out there charging 2500 or more for the chocolates. I got mine for 500.00 and she did let me know about a bite problem and my vet said he should grow out of it. She said other than that, you have a great little guy here. Ok, so after reading the posts on here and a few on other sites I really have to call BS... I called Cornerstone Farms after finding their puppy on puppyfind.com. I was greeted by Debra Ritter and was given answers to all my questions. I called again a few days later after my wife had a few more questions. Debra promptly called me back and offered pictures of the puppy. Then sent a video for me to share with my daughter. I paid for the puppy in full and within a week received my shipping information as the little one was flying home. Before we knew it we were picking her up and she was everything that was promised and more. We named her Prew and she is just perfect. So don't believe all the hype you read. I personally can attest to the same things many have found. The Ritters and Cornerstone Farms are wonderful and made no promises or commitments they failed to keep. Super nice people, family owned and operated which was a reason we choose them over a corporate pet store. The puppies and other animals are very clean, they have a big family, over 25 kids and grandchildren that all work on the farm and raise the animals so they have a unique capability to take care of puppies and other animals. We found the puppy we liked online and then emailed and called a few times to arrange a time to meet our new addition to the family. It is a long drive, I would pay the transport fee if I did it again. It was nice to meet the breeders and the people who raised our puppy. The kids all pitch in to care for the puppies so they have constant attention which is nice. There was a little confusion since we were doing all this over email and some of the emails were blocked as SPAM so we did not realize they had responded but it all worked out great. We have had four dogs from Cornerstone Farms and have, three Mini Dachshunds and one Min Pen. The only reason we had the Min Pen was because they didn't have a Mini Dachshund when we wanted another one. After have the Min Pen for a few weeks, we discovered that they have a completely different temperament then the Dachshund and would be more destructive chewing on things. After contacting Corner Stone, we were instructed to return the Min Pin in exchange for a Mini Dachshund which she now had. Each visit we met the family and was even invited into the house. We have had an excellent experience with the dogs being very well socialized. We never had to worry about the dogs showing aggression and in fact the exact opposite, all of our dogs loved everyone. Our Lucy is now 9 years old and we hope to still have her for a few years. When she is gone we will be contacting Corner Stone again. read more

On January 27th 2012 my family received an 8 week old Standard Poodle from Cornerstone Farms. Not even three days later he was admitted to the Emergency Care Hospital for treatment. He had Parvo, Upper Respitory Infection, Urinary Tract Infection and Giardia. The Vet there said that he was near death and absolutely without a doubt came to us already sick with the Parvo Virus. The virus originated at the breeders. He was in serious condition and we were told that there was a good chance that he wouldn't make it. By the grace of God and the excellent care he received at the Hospital he made it through. Nine days and $3670.00 later our puppy is home with us. He still needs monitoring and will have many visits to the vet but we are keeping our fingers crossed that he remains healthy and doesn't have any setbacks.
