For our ShiTzu we asked, at LEAST 4 times to 2 different people, that they NOT cut her bangs since we are letting them grow out. No trimming from her eyes UP. VERY clear, many times, with their confirmation. We were close to her bangs being long enough to put into a ponytail which our dog is totally fine with. Not only did they ultra cut her bangs 1/3 of the way into the BACK of her head, think nerdy buzz cut, they cut most of her top knot so it's super short and barely any pony at all. A red flag was when I was on the phone w/ Hannah, I told her we wanted a fluffy puppy cut, and her response was "What do you mean by a 'puppy cut?'." They said they would keep her fluffy and use no lower than a 4 trimmer, she is at least a 3 in most places, maybe a 2 on her body! When I dropped her off at 11:50a, they said she'd be ready by 2pm. At 2:20 I called to say I was on my way and she said she needed at least another 20 minutes. I said that is fine, just call me when she's done and I'll come in. She never called me but I went in 40 minutes later, only to find they had been done for 30+ minutes. They never said how the appointment went, how my dog did, or if she was ok for the 3 hours she was there. When I mentioned that her bangs were short after my asking they NOT be cut, she replied "I couldn't get it all into a ponytail and it was in her face so I cut it." I said it was a week within being long enough, that I asked at LEAST 4 times that it NOT be cut, she said nothing. As they kept ringing me out I mentioned it again, seeing HOW SHORT her hair is, and she finally said "sorry." So we get to grow it out again, and she's super short all over. And she does NOT look like professional ShiTzu cut. I had heard SUCH good things about this place and I really thought with my asking so many people so many times that it would be close to what we were asking. SO WRONG. I will say that the positives are my dog seems fine, she has no scratches or burns, and she doesn't look HORRID, but she doesn't look good either. Take a look at the other hidden reviews...the most recent ones are not positive.

After my first visit I would have given Canine Designs 5 stars but today, my second visit with two…read moreof my dogs today showed me a whole other side to this groomer. Told groomer my dog has a chronic right ear infection that is flaring up now. After waiting seven hours for my dogs I finally texted and was told one needed maybe another hour and was very matted today...weird since she was way worse last time and her legs were brushed out three days ago but...ok. An hour went by, Saturday about 5:00 and no word so my daughter and I got in the car to just go there. Through the window we could see our dog on the grooming table (other dog in a cage - at least three of her nails clipped to the point of bleeding) and three people working on her frantically (also odd no one waved me in and they all kept looking out the window), adult daughter and I watched one of the three be especially rough with our dog...not just for a second but maybe five non stop minutes on her sensitive/infected ear, at which point we jumped out of the car and went in. I said I'd take her now in whatever condition she was in. I was told she was brushed for about six hours, two people. That sounds cruel to me especially after watching how rough she was treated. I have reached out to the owner with no response, and wish I had been given an option to trim dog down rather than torture her all day...there for eight hours. For two dogs I was charged $325. (Charged $170 first visit and dogs' coats more matted...no call about up charge or options to groom less/cut or shave shorter.) Eight hours and aggressive brushing were both unacceptable for my pets.

My 18…read moreweek old puppy got an eye injury that incurred a $170 vet bill and the staff claimed they did not even notice it. How that happens is beyond me, all you had to do was look at his face. I would have been far more understanding had I received a phone call about the injury instead of being surprised. My puppy had to have been like that for a long time considering the eye swelling, drainage, and pawing at it. Then, hours later, when the owner contacted my husband she tried to pin the blame on "puppies will play" and blame us for accusing her staff as being inadequate. Very defensive and non-apologetic. I would much rather trust a larger, more established business than attempt to return here.

They gave us a free nail trim and a complementary bandanna and Kaycee girl was all smiles. Great crew there and thank you for your service to our animals!

When the girl came, I talked to her about it and said I didn't want her shaved completely bald to do it like the next little level up? She brought me back a cat who had had a bath. It was about $186 for her to give my cat a bath. When I questioned her about it, she said she Fought the cat had been through too much and she did not advise working on her again so soon. When I complained, they offered to have the same person come the next morning. That person had told me not to do it so soon. And I had also just complained about her so I wasn't comfortable with her handling the cat. They are now refusing to refund her money. We were willing to pay for the convenience, but all this has been is a hassle and I now have to make another grooming appointment somewhere else. Don't use them. Kennelwood on Mason lane has always been great.

She always does show cuts on my dogs. They come home looking marvelous. I occasionally use other groomers there and they all have done great work. She also does whatever else you want done like summer trims. People are nice there and easy to work with.
