So why not head over to Evergreen? We'd been to a couple of their Christmas services and we miss going to a big church, so this fit the bill. The worship music was awesome and the new pastor is young and funny. He's not as good as my pastor to be honest, but he's good and has a lot of energy. I like how they have both self-serve coffee and baristas so you can purchase a customized drink. Plus they serve pastries from The Bread Peddler, which is the best. We went to the service at noon and there was enough parking, even during service so it was nice and easy.

They are all about building relationships with each other and helping all the attendees find and follow Jesus. What I enjoy most about our pastors is that they teach directly out of the Bible and also use other reliable resources to back up what the Bible is telling us. Everyone is welcome! And the church always has Some sort of gathering whether it be Study Groups, Church Camps, Parents Night out, Woman's Tea Parties or PotLucks. This church is ripe for a split and it will happen soon. Olympia's Christian Scientists first began meeting in the Olympia Hotel on what was then Main Street (now Capitol Way). Later a house at 8th and Washington Streets was purchased and remodeled for church services. That house was razed in 1925 to allow construction of the large Greek Classic building that now sits in that location and served as the church from 1925 to 2004. In 2004, church members voted to sell the building to Temple Beth Hatfiloh and begin construction of a new church on Evergreen Park Drive in West Olympia. The new church was completed and dedicated in 2009. Members will emphasize that the most important part of their church is not the building, but the spiritual growth and fellowship that is centered there.

Adult education is also available at 10am most Sundays during Children's Bible School. We have found the staff, members and all the missions of the church to be awesome. I sing in the choir, help with Sunday School and VBS, and stay active with the mission of serving Friday lunch to our homeless population. Over the pandemic we have had the most excellent adult education Zoom classes and wonderful Zoom meetings with friends in the Rebecca Fellowship and Faithful women's group. Each related our Bible and Gospel to our current struggles. You can choose to just attend services or watch online or as I have found, get more involved and meet people.
