Cornerstone has exceeded every expectation I had for a preschool setting! The director, Ms. Melisa, and Ms. Liz in the office are amazing. There is constant communication and I never feel left in the dark. All the teachers are so welcoming and sweet. My son's fine motor and social skills have blossomed since he's been here! He loves all the sensory play they do and how often they're outside. You can tell the school is run off love and people who genuinely enjoy working and being around children. From the moment one enters the otherwise nondescript building, they are treated to an array of beautiful child-inspiring classrooms which bring smiles to children's faces and have adults wishing they were kids again! My children entered the two year old class shy, hesitant and naive and graduated several years later transformed into outgoing, confident kids more than ready for kindergarten. My daughter has gone here for two years and is beginning a third. Top to bottom, we have had a wonderful experience. Ms. Kari and Ms. Sydney have been amazing and my kid loves them. They really do care about the children they teach and watch over and they - and the rest of the staff, for that matter - go the extra mile every time. I talk to a number of staff members every day of the school week and I have had nothing but positive experiences. The director has always been personable, professional, friendly and informative. Hell, she actually brought me a cold remedy unsolicited after seeing me come in miserable every day for three weeks (it worked, btw). The teaching and administrative staff are good people and there's a real family atmosphere at the school. Parents: I'm the most overprotective parent ever and I love this place. So does my wife. So does my daughter. If you're looking for a preschool where your children will learn social and academic skills from people who actually give a crap, come here. Oh yeah, and did I mention they do movie nights and parties for the whole family and turn the playground into a winter wonderland with a foot of real snow for Christmas? Yeah. Bonus. And every school day my daughter runs in and hugs her teachers like she thought they were dead. Both of my children have been a part of Cornerstone, and I could not feel more fortunate to have had this option for their early years. From the cleanliness of the facilities, the sweet library, outdoor learning centers and the attentiveness of the staff, both of my children have received excellent care and education while at Cornerstone. My twins recently graduated from Cornerstone Preschool after being there since age 2. Seeing both of them now thriving in Kindergarten shows just how special and amazing Cornerstone Preschool is. They were so incredibly prepared for Kindergarten not only academically, but also in their social skills as well. Starting Kindergarten was a smooth transition because of how comfortable and confident they were specifically with reading, writing, and the beginning math skills that they learned in preschool. Cornerstone also has the perfect mix of academic and play based learning with their art, music, and outdoor activities. My younger son now goes to Cornerstone and he loves it. I have to disagree. My children have also been there for years and we have found another option now for next year. The school started out amazing with a very active director. This seems to have changed. The teachers are still good but the curriculum has weakened. The director is no longer supporting the staff and parents as she once did. It is turning into a "pretty" daycare. I have witnessed negative issues in the school that should be addressed ignored by the director. read more

Being a new mom, I had very high expectations of where I was going to send my son to day care. I was looking for a school that provided a loving and nurturing environment. A school that had an administrator that was involved and a staff that was knowledgeable, caring and that loved their jobs. I also needed a school that had extended hours to fit my job schedule. I found Cornerstone Preschool by the Yahoo reviews I had read on line. I was nervous and anxious hoping that what other parents reviews had said were true. When I went and toured the school, I immediately felt at ease. I felt like I was walking into someone's home. Melisa, the owner and administrator was so warm and inviting. The school was immaculate and the staff was super friendly. The grounds were very safe and secure and the play structures were covered from the sun. I had such a great feeling about this school and I knew right away that my son had to go there! In fact, my son didn't even want to leave when our tour had ended! As soon as my son turned two, he embarked on his amazing journey at Cornerstone Preschool. He has learned so much and he is so excited to go to school each day. He has made many wonderful friends at the school as well. He is currently in Nursery School and is well on his way to Preschool in the fall. I am planning on keeping him at this school through the Early Kindergarten program. And I am secretly hoping that they will open an elementary school as well! For I would like to keep him here as long as possible! There is nothing about this school that I don't love. This has been an amazing opportunity for my son and I am so grateful! read more

My son spent a year at Cornerstone and the growth was immense! The teachers are kind and attentive. They make every child feel special. I really liked how they take disciplinary matters very seriously. It helps to correct bad behavior immediately in young children. The structure worked well for my son. His academic abilities improved dramatically. It is a clean, safe environment in which my son thrived. Their days are rich with activity to stimulate their minds. After unexpectedly finding myself pregnant and blessed with child #2, one of the first calls I made was to Cornerstone Preschool to reserve a spot! This was the ONE thing I didn't have to worry about--finding the perfect preschool. Having my oldest son attend the school from age 2-5, I knew by experience about what a magical place it is. He is now 9 and still loves all his memories of Cornerstone and it gave him back such wonderful gifts--a love of school, the confidence to go from a shy toddler to an outgoing Kindergartener and the ability to both learn AND play. My two-and-a-half year old loves it equally. He is VERY excited about going to school and is thriving under their care and guidance. Cornerstone has been the ideal balance as a place to learn and a place to play. And, I love that so many of the teachers that taught and loved my 9 year old are still at the school today. I am so grateful to the school (and the founder!) for giving both my boys such a wonderful start to the school experience. read more

I just want to say that Cornerstone is by far and wide the very best preschool I have seen (and I toured close to 15). I am proud that both sets of my twins attend/attended Cornerstone. The teachers are diligent, conscientious and very connected with their students. The pre-k teacher wonderfully prepared my twins for kinder and I would choose their pre-k over any pre-k at a public school. The facility itself is just spectacular. I lovingly describe it as the "anthropologie" of preschools. It's so clean and well laid out you feel calm the minute you walk in. The front office and the Director are busy and very involved with running this lovely school. I've never taken anything that seemed short or curt personally and in fact, I very much appreciate the concise manner in which information is communicated (especially by email.) I would not take any negative reviews to heart. Not every school is for every individual and there is no school which will meet every single expectation you have. Cornerstone certainly meets or exceeds everything I desired in a school. I encourage you to meet with the director, tour the beautiful school and make a decision for yourself. We are SO happy with Cornerstone. We joined half way through our daughters 3s year and saw growth in her immediately! She is now in the tk program and has already learned SO much! The curriculum is like no other preschool that I toured (and I toured about 15) and they are really developing those school readiness skills for your child to succeed in Elementary! My daughter is happy, safe, learning, and thriving so far! The teachers are passionate, kind, and warm! My daughter has spent the last year attending Cornerstone Preschool as a full time student. Honestly, the only reason why I was sad she had started Kindergarten is because we had to say goodbye to this amazing school and staff. Not only my daughter had a great experience there but as a parent myself I felt confident my child was getting great education and, of course, was safe. This is such a fantastic school. Clean, safe, great teachers, wonderful art projects... BUT there is a huge flaw. 3-5 yr olds are required to take 1.5 + hour naps. This is the time that the teachers take their break. My son was so frustrated and upset having to lay down on a mat every day to "sleep" when he stopped taking naps years ago! It is one thing to have the younger ones (2 year olds) take mandatory naps, but the 4 & 5 year olds?? Come on Cornerstone! Get with it! This school needs an alternate program for the children that do not nap. For the money we pay, I think an extra teacher can be hired for a couple hours to supervise outdoor play or art projects. I will be removing my child from this school due to this issue. read more

Wow! After being an educator for 7 years in early elementary school systems and being a man who believes in a positive environment for everyone especially children it saddens me to say that Cornerstone is run by negative energy. Not to go into a long story about miscommunication, I take full responsibility for my actions and experience of Cornerstone. I'd like to share that I feel the operator is an angry individual. After a couple of visits and attempting to enroll my child today at the school I received a phone call from the owner/operator and to be spoken to in way of righteousness and rudeness was very saddening. It was an unfortunate experience but I am grateful that I saw the true colors of the heart and soul of the school before exposing my child to such an environment. I can only hope the leader of the establishment doesn't have a trickle effect on her students. It's too bad cause the children were beautiful, the facility was nice but the core was rotten. read more

We enrolled our child in the Transitional Two's program & couldn't be happier with her teachers, the program, the school, the director & the admin staff. We researched several preschools in the area & I felt hesitant until we toured Cornerstone. I drive a very long distance just to bring my child to Cornerstone but this preschool is totally worth it. The teachers are experienced, nurturing & enthusiastic, the school is CLEAN, bright, SAFE & fun, the program days are flexible, the class sizes are limited, the admin staff are personal yet professional. Children are never taken off campus but rather field trips & special events are brought to the school (really appreciated). Their curriculum is age appropriate & encourages learning through fun activities. They embrace & celebrate all cultures & religions without limiting children to a specific category. Parent involvement is encouraged and communication is thoughtful & consistent. I wish they'd open another location closer to me. I HIGHLY recommend this EXCELLENT preschool! read more

As a parent there is nothing more important than where you leave your child. When my daughter was an infant we chose home daycare which worked great - then we tried a larger preschool setting. At first it was o.k. but then she changed classes and suddenly there were 24 two-year olds and 2 teachers. Everyday she was bullied and hurt by other kids and cried when I left her there. I spent countless hours searching for every school I would leave my baby in, and when I walked into Cornerstone I knew my search for any and every preschool was over. It felt as if we were coming home. Having been a preschool teacher myself in the past I have very high expectations, and Cornerstone far exceeded every one of them. The teachers are exceptional, the child to teacher ratio is small, the classrooms are stocked with the greatest materials and they provide amazing on-site field trips and experiences. I was able to start my daughter there before she was potty trained, and they helped her achieve that and every other goal I set for her. She started in the first classroom at 2 1/2 yrs. old and is about to graduate from the Transitional Kindergarten class at 5 yrs. With the help of the wonderful teachers at Cornerstone my daughter was accepted to 2 of the most prestigious private schools in the state. She has made friends she will remember for life and achieved more than expected in every single area. She has never cried when I left her there - not even on the first day - and never wants to leave when I come to get her. They offer incredible hours filled with learning and fun and you, as a parent, never have to worry about your child. NEVER! There is nothing I could say that could ever express my gratitude for this school and the teachers I have come to know and truly love. My wife and I enrolled our son in Cornerstone Preschool three years ago and we could not be more pleased with our experience with the school. Even more importantly, our son has loved this school and looked forward to learning each and every day. It is a tremendous feeling knowing that your son is in the hands of individuals who truly care about the children that they work with. The entire staff (Ms. Melisa, Ms. Nancy, Ms. Jane, Ms. Cynthia, Ms. Elizabeth, Ms. Michelle, Ms. Vanessa, & Ms. Tanya ) are all so warm, friendly, and knowledgeable about child development. We strongly feel that Cornerstone went above and beyond in preparing our son for his upcoming year of kindergarten. This sentiment was confirmed when my son told me "Daddy, kindergarten is a lot easier than preschool". Knowing that we have provided our son with a solid foundational pre-school education is invaluable. We had put our child at Cornerstone, because our first impression was that was a place where the owner and the teacher were caring and attentive to the children. We had a bad experience with them, they neglected a child that was injured in the school, we the parents never got a call from the school to notify us, the teacher lie about caring for the injured child, the child was bleeding when we went to pick her up from school. When I spoke to the owner and director she totally disregarded my worries as a parent and she defended the teacher that lied. I pull my child out of that "school" in the same day. read more

My daughter has attended Cornerstone for two years now and I have mixed feelings about the school. Miss Rachel is an AMAZING teacher and any child would be lucky to have the opportunity to be in her classroom. The school is clean and the staff seems to really care about the children. The kid's artwork lines the walls of every classroom and you can tell that the staff are truly dedicated to the safety, well being, and education of the children...from September to June. The director doesn't tell you that during the summer months, Cornerstone turns into an extremely expensive daycare and that all of the qualified teaching staff takes the summer off. This leads to the real problem with Cornerstone... The director. She is incomunicative and extremely condescending to the parents. Heaven for bid you should have a question about your child's education or how something is done at HER school. She is abrasive, rude and every interaction with her down to the emails that she sends leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Last year, the teacher's aid in my daughter's classroom quit about a month into the new school year. There was hardly any communication at all with the parents and it took months before we finally got an email from the director stating that she had decided not to hire a new teacher's assistant and instead would have a rotating format of various teachers in the school coming into the classroom to help. During the transition, the classroom was total chaos. My daughter came home one day with pee in her pants and no one noticed. On another occasion she had a big bump on her forehead and no one seemed to know what happened to her at school. When myself and a couple of the other parents questioned the director, she became extremely defensive and condescending as if we were completely out of line for questioning what was going on at the school. At the end of the day, it's really sad that the director can't get out of her own way, becaus th school itself is fantastic, charming and pretty much everything you would want in a preschool. I'm sad that we will be finding another place to send our daughter next year due to the poor communication and overall attitude of the director. read more

I'm trying to find a Christian preschool for my almost 4 year old to get good Christian input in her early education. Cornerstone came up on a Google search and I decided to look into it. For 5-1/2 hours a week (2 hr 45 min day) through their 2 day a week program it costs $179 a month. Ok. Pricey but still considering. I realized upon looking at the paperwork to enroll that its another $300 for enrollment EVERY YEAR a child attends. That makes it more like $204 a month, or $47.08 weekly, or $8.60+ an hour -- OR MORE if any of her normal days fall on a holiday they take off. No meals. I'm hoping it possible to find Christian care that I can afford. It's important to me to spare my child from our government and educational system indoctrination that teaches my child to reject Christ. When I called to clarify the $300 extra with the department, it was confirmed. I declined saying the price puts it out of the league of most Christians, and her tone took on a put out, "whatever", attitude. Hhhmmmmm.... read more
