I selected a bid from Eastside Roofing out of three bids Spring 2022 because it was $3k less on a $36,000 dollar job. What a mistake. I should have hired Cornerstone in the first place. My next roofing job we needed, I had Cornerstone roof our double wide and deep garage Spring 2023. What a difference a roofer made. The courtesous and respectful salesman had more than 20 years experience on the roofs of houses as part of the crew before selling anything and the company's crew is top notch professional. Here are the differences that came standard with Cornerstone that the other roofer didn't do at all: 1) The ops manager assured the dumbster was ordered, playwood to protect our driveway was placed and I was in agreement with the placement of it. 2) The next day, the ops manager checked in with me in the morning on my doorstep and on time. 3) The crew's first thing to do was to lay plastic on the ground to collect debris. 4) A safety manager showed up not too long after and posted a notice of the nearest medical clinic address and phone and observed for a while. 5) The job was finished on time and no one was at the door to collect a fee. 6) The next week the A/R personnel phoned, was kind and assured I was pleased. They emailed an invocie for the balance. The other roofer scribbled on the original bid. 7) I received a 25 year guarantee with a letter in the mail from Cornerstone asssuring me of the quality of their workmanship and how they back it up. 8) Cornerstone registered my shingles with the manufacture and I recieved a 30 year guarantee from the manufacture a few weeks later. {all 8 of these things didn't occur with the first job and I had to pay Cornerstone to fix the things the other roofer left behind} Hire them in the first place. My roof needed to be inspected for damage. My home is three stories, so it's not easy to get to the roof. Cornerstone Roofing were very straightforward, clear, and fair with how they explained what they would charge for doing this inspection given the height of my roof. The person who did the inspection was efficient and seemed extremely knowledgeable. After the inspection, he said there was no damage to my roof, and nothing needed to be done. They charged be exactly as they had described, and I appreciate that they were straightforward and honest that my roof was fine. Good customer service. Rain has returned to Seattle. I noted a drip between my gutters and fascia. I couldn't tell if it was potentially a gutter vs. flashing vs. roof issue. Since what prompted my original roof replacement was a somewhat similar leak I figured I should have it checked out. Called Cornerstone and without hesitation Lenny from the repair division came out to inspect the next day! He felt the flashing/roof work looked good but identified that my gutter nail in that area was back-angled towards the house and thought that water might be running along the nail and seeping in-between the gutter and fascia. While Cornerstone did not replace my gutters with my roof replacement Lenny graciously worked to seal the gutter nail area with silicone where it penetrates the fascia. He also took the time to look at other areas around the house and identified a few more places and helped seal those as well. What I really appreciate is that Cornerstone STOOD BY THEIR PLEDGE TO GUARANTEE THEIR WORKMANSHIP and even went beyond in my case. Further, Lenny clearly cared to help me - he brought his expertise (I wouldn't have thought about a back sloping gutter nail) and what took him just a little bit of time saved me potentially having to have a gutter service come out or try to do it myself (homeowners and ladders can be a bad combo). Lenny could've just said "it's not the roof" and took off but he didn't and he again demonstrated what I originally posted - In my experience, Cornerstone and its employees care about their customer's homes and satisfaction. They go the extra mile because it is the right thing to do. Even after going above and beyond Lenny asked "Is there anything else I can do for you today?". Dave came out and did a bid for me for my roof leak. He was honest about what he saw and he's been doing this for a while so I felt like I could trust his advice. He sent me a bid with an offer to do work, but not without also suggesting a solution that I could try first that didn't cost me anything. He then sent me an email and a hard copy of the bid with beautiful photos of everything so I could see the places he was suggesting to complete the work. Cornerstone Roofing: I am so impressed, especially of the integrity and follow through. I purchased a 30-year old house with an 11-year old roof provided by Cornerstone Roofing. The warranty was transferable to us as the second owner. When I called Cornerstone Roofing to put the warranty in my name, they immediately found the contract, updated the information, and said that they would of course honor the contract. They sent an expert out to inspect the roof and he found a couple issues. These issues were promptly fixed per the warranty. Then we discussed the fact that the previous owner on his own created two new roof vents and that two other vents were no longer used. I then hired Cornerstone to redo the homeowner's vents that weren't ventilating quite properly and to close up the two vents not being used. I can't say enough on how patient Michael Little was with me. I had so many questions and was quite stressed, having purchased a house that had issues, in some cases unsafe (e.g. electrical, gas), created by the previous owners that I needed to fix and pay for. Cornerstone came in very competitively priced and gave me a thorough proposal with several pricing options. I also had scheduling issues as I had a deck contractor and painter lined up to start after them. They were able to get me into their schedule a month earlier than promised. I had one small issue that needed to be fixed and Craig was back promptly to fix it with no issues or questions. I had a great experience with everyone from CSR. The quote was completed promptly and was very thorough with clear explanations of the work to be completed (including pictures). A team member came to the house to show us roofing samples. We then drove to a few homes that had the same roofing material that we wanted to confirm our selection. The CSR roofing team was super efficient and professional; in and out in two days. During the final inspection, Juan took his time walking me around the new roof and answering my questions. I did a lot of research into the roofing companies I received estimates from and all were highly recommended including CSR. However, CSR was the only company that offered a 25 year labor warranty, they also have an A+ BBB Accredited rating and they had the most professional package which included everything you needed to make a good decision. They were also the only company that didn't require a down payment. And they were the only company that offered a discount if your invoice was paid in full with a week of receiving it. Their pricing was not the cheapest nor the most expensive. But all estimates were within $500 of each other so they were all basically the same. With the pay off discount, they came it almost at the least expensive. They were fast and the quality appears first rate (they have to with that 25 year labor warranty). First day was the tear off and laying down matting, 2nd and 3rd day was installing new roofing material (CertainTeed Presidential Shake) and 4th day was clean-up. read more

Cornerstone Roofing did an excellent job with our roof. The quote was reasonable, and included an excellent warranty on the work and the materials. It looks GREAT and they got it done in a day and a half, which was incredibly for me as a stay at home mom with a toddler! The main reason I am giving a 4 star review is that scheduling was a little tricky. Snow was a factor but once the weather cleared up, we set a date. Then we got a call that materials were being delivered and the crew was starting three days earlier than scheduled. That was a little frustrating, but other than that, everything was great. We had Cornerstone bid and work on a replacement job for our 1914 house. It's only about 1,000 sq feet so it was a relatively easy job for them. Overall we were pleased with their work, but had a couple negatives (see below): Pros: - Their estimator, Dave, is SUPER thorough and is not a typical sales rep. He explained everything and even told me of a couple areas I could DIY instead off paying them to do. I really appreciated his honesty the whole way through. We went with Cornerstone due to Dave's approach - The crew cranked out the roof in 1.5 days and seemed to do a nice job. - They double check the work and left us feeling secure that the job was done right. Cons: - They used brown vent covers and pipe vents instead of black. We chose black walnut shingles, so it would've been nice to have it match. I don't mind as I don't see our roof often, but the premise is what bothers me. I actually called them out on it and only received an explanation after all of the work was complete. - The care/cleanup could have been better. They covered our plants, but damaged our down spout extensions (which we had recently painted). I also had to wipe down all of our outside window sills (all had black dust residue on them). read more

We had Cornerstone Roofing come out a year ago to give us an estimate on a leaking overhang (eave). The gentleman went up and conducted a thorough inspection, and with my permission made a temporary fix until the work could be done. We had other priorities, and had to go through the winter on the temp fix alone, which worked fine. I rang them one year after the original estimate. They revisited and we had them go ahead with the work. Their repair specialist was top notch and very professional. It was an honor to have such a skilled craftsman working on our home. During the midst of COVID19 we discovered our 20 year old roof was leaking. We expected the worst and asked a couple of companies for a bid. Cornerstone was fast to respond. He checked out the problem and gave us a quote of half the price of the other company. Then he offered to check out the rest of the roof. We figured that's where he'd get us. To our surprise, while he did find another problem we didn't know about, he offered a quick fix as opposed to a new roof that was still cheaper than the other company (who didn't even look at the rest of our roof). And even though we hadn't committed to using Cornerstone, he did a quick patch for free to keep it from getting worse. Job was done quickly at an extremely fair price. I contacted Corner Stone after couple of free estimates Guys scared me pretty hard. They said I would need a new roof as soon as possible. I bought this property 6 months ago and I knew that I would need it in like 4-5 years but not now. A guy from Corner Stone showed up. He went up the roof and came down and said nope you don't need it right away. He checked attic and said it's not terrible here either. He did suggested if I want to make a few repairs here and there. He said it's not absolutely necessary but should be helpful. He said you probably have 3-4 years on it. Such a relief it was. These guys are awesome. No pushy sales at all. I had Cornerstone replace the roof on my house in 2007, after obtaining bids from several companies. The company made multiple recommendations for me to consider in order to improve the existing roof system, ventilation, etc. They were very proactive in helping me make informed decisions and as a result, the new roof system was far superior to the existing and installed at a very competitive price. The experience was one of the best I have had with a residential contractor. Unfortunately, some minor leaks developed after about 6 years and I contacted the company to inform them. They have a 20 year warranty on workmanship, and they immediately sent a representative out to inspect. They confirmed that the problem was due to some problems with nailing (I have an exceptionally challenging roof in terms of roofing installation, with many transitions that are difficult to apply roofing and flashing to). Within a week, the company sent out a crew to correct the problem, at no charge. If you want to really know a company's true character, observe how they deal with warranty work. Cornerstone scored 10 out of 10 in terms of service, and I highly recommend them. read more

Corner Stone completer re-roofed our home. Their workmanship and speed of installation was excellent. I have one minor complaint with the removal of the old roofing material. Some of the old wood shake fail into the attic areas and I later climbed through the insulation and removed them myself. Of major concern was the excess roofing material ordered, which the owner pays for. They over estimated 10-15 bundles, close to $1000 dollars. I suggested using my neighbors measurements whose roof they had replaced earlier, the neighbors have the same exact roof line. If they had even bothered there is no way they would have been that many bundles extra. They left 5-6 bundles stacked for me next to the driveway. I retrieved many more they had thrown into their dumpster. This leaves me an ethical question! When the job is finished Corner Stone will ask if you wish to retain the extra bundles. If not they will pick them up and return them to stock. (what do most home owners need with 15 extra bundles?) You receive no reimbursement. You can visualize over time what the benefit it would be for the company. The ethical concern is do they over estimate for their own benefit? I have my opinion. read more

Cornerstone put a new roof on my house in 2003. At the time I called four companies for estimates. Two came out and because of their people, cost and recommendations, received the job. They did everything they promised on time and in a professional manner. Several years later I had a leak that I thought was a roofing problem. Cornerstone repair people came out several times before finding the leak in a window seal that had nothing to do with them. They sealed it free of charge. Recently I had another issue with venting in the attic that I needed changed out. Once again, two cornerstones repairmen came out and in a fast, polite and professional manner did what they said they'd do.
