One of the most well-kept public tennis centers in San Diego. They have 8 hard-courts but don't have a parking lot. However, there are lots of parking spaces along the street or near residents. Very rare that you can play tennis by the harbor in cool breezes. Also, since the center is by the ocean, the marine layer keeps you cool and you don't get scorched by the hot sun. There is also a little pro shop by the front that stocks most of your tennis needs (balls, racquets, clothes, etc.). We love that Coronado has joined our North County USTA league. It was very enjoyable playing here. Especially with a team's dub. read more

I'm an excellent tennis player so I always like to stay on top of my game. When I was in San Diego, I decided to play a little tennis at Coronado Tennis Center. The Coronado Tennis Center has eight hard courts and three of them have lighting so you can play at night. I was assigned to court eight and it was spectacular. There were no cracks at all and the nets were in perfect shape. Also, the courts were set up for pickle ball as well. The pro shop here is also fantastic, especially the staff. The man who was working the pro shop actually allowed me to borrow his racquet, the Wilson Burn! The shop also sells a wide array of rackets and tennis clothes. Finally, they had a nice amount of drinks including Propel, which I had after I finished playing. Getting a court was also very easy for me. I was able to call up in the morning and get a court for that morning! Also, the courts are right behind the Coronado golf course, some palm trees and the bay so there are some beautiful courts! Altogether, the Coronado Tennis Center is a great place to play tennis in beautiful Coronado! read more

Went here last Thursday. AmaZing experience! I love this tennis center is one of the best ones I have ever been! The employees are very nice and polite they make you feel like home. The place itself is very clean and neat. They have everything well organized. And they also have some equipment you can borrow if you don't bring your own. They have couple of courts where you can play. Once you reserve you will get there and your name Will be on a paper telling you where to go. The courts are great!!! They are big and plenty of Room. I recommend this place it's great to Come with your family and have some fun tennis time! You won't regret it! The community is great friendly people. I went with bae and my mom and we all Loved it! We were on a family bike ride around Coronado. We stopped near the shore and my kid cut his thumb on a sharp shell. We had to continue the ride to get to the vehicle. We were passing by the Tennis Center and the kids decided to stop and see if they happened to have a band aid. Sure enough, the kind gentleman working there went and got a first aid kit with exactly what we needed. He gave us two band aids and some non-painful cleaning ointment. He saved the day ! It was impossible to find street parking, and there is no parking lot. I feel like they stole $15 from us.

I play at tennis centers all over the country, because of my tennis background, and this place was very nice. I wish there was a parking lot for the tennis center intead of just street parking, but other than that my experiemce there was good. They had an ice machine were I could refill my water bottle. From where I was I saw about 6 courts that were clean and surfaced great there were no cracks and the nets were nice as well. I enjoyed playing In Cornaodo. read more

Great pro-shop with huge selection of tennis balls, racquets, strings and accessories... zero wait...Lights on several courts.... cheap ball machine rental, hitting walls, friendly people. oh and did I mention it's free for locals and only $5 for non-residents??? I went to the Coronado Tennis Center last week for the first time. I was appalled at the attitude of the person assigning courts. Apparently her name is Samantha. She appeared to hate her job or at least hated doing her job. She was very unfriendly, grumpy and impatient. I decided not play there as a result. I went back this week hoping for a different experience. Unfortunately, she was still in the same ill tempered mood. I will join a different club instead of the CTA as a result. I will not recommend this facility to any of my friends. read more

Our daughter played today in a junior tournament. 8am was the time announced on the USTA website for her first match. The courts were not ready and the kids didn't have room to stretch and warm up. Before the matches started we were told that every player will play at least 2 matches. We were told the second match will be held at 2pm. We wasted 4 1/2 hours to be able to return in time(we do not live locally). On our return, at 1:40 PM our daughter asked the person at the check-in desk if her match will still be at 2:00. The answer was yes, so we went and watched another match and she stretched in preparation for her match. At 1:55, upon check-in, we were told by the same person at the check-in desk that they made a mistake and she will not play until tomorrow at 12:00. I hope they will try and get more organized for the sanctioned USTA events in the future. Very disappointing for our daughter who was looking forward to play the second match and for us who traveled there from a distance. read more
