Not only do they serve tennis players but they also have pickleball, padel, and racquetball equipment at the ready. I came in for some tennis stringing and inquired about a specific string that I wanted to get on my racket they did not have it but for good reason, apparently it's been known to cause a lot of damage to people's arms. They were very helpful and helped guide me to a different pair of strings that fit my needs and were of better comfort. The stringing and price were very reasonable and comparable to other places. Unquestionably the best inventory in SOCAL. Second part is the staff is amazing! Really true experts at their craft, tremendous pride and work ethic. Pricing was competitive to online, but you can TRY the gear before you buy on their indoor court/wall. If you need Tennis items, head straight there. The gentlemen helping us quickly advised on shoe fit, options, and we found a great pair at a terrific price. How can you beat service, selection, and low cost all together. We ended up buying a couple rackets based on the experience. I got one, awesome racket and wouldn't have known which I preferred without comparing in the store. Out of several options, one racket really stood out (the one I was recommended....) and I bought it immediately. GAME CHANGER. Based on that amazing experience, my 13 year old son picked a racket out, and they stayed open late (without a word of complaint) to ensure he was all set up. I paid a visit just hoping to get new strings for my racquet and was shocked by the hard work from the older woman at the counter (I believe her name is Hiroko) into stringing several racquets. Regardless, she finished stringing mine promptly and even had it ready before the estimated pickup time. She also allowed me to demo one of the racquets and offered helpful advice for me buying a new one. They also have a large selection of equipment and apparel for tennis & pickleball. My sister and uncle suggested I shop here and everyone was so nice. The clothing is so cute and way better than the actual Nike store in my opinion. They had good stuff in my size XS. The lady at the cashier was sweet and can hold conversation. Its my first time buying an outfit for tennis. The man helping her was also super amicable. He tried to help me find affordable size 8 tennis shoes while stringing rackets. Great customer service. Would highly recommend getting your racquet string at Ray's! The price is affordable at $25 a racquet if you provide your own strings. Their turn around time is fantastic as well within 24 hours. The owners are very friendly and offer great service and advice! Such as what string gauge is more appropriate for my racquet type as well as even going now and beyond and relaxing my damaged grommets for me. Their selection of tennis gear: racquets, bags, shoes, clothes, etc is VAST! With nearly 25 years of experience, this is some of the best if not the best stringing job done to my racquet - strings were nice and tight and didn't wiggle. read more

This place is awful. Continues to go downhill every year we stop over thinking well let's give them another shot. Not only is everything way overpriced but the customer service especially from management uppers stinks. They follow you around like puppy dogs. Not sure if thinking people are thieves or if they are the actual US mask enforcement task force. This place even requires people to wear a mask when they are fully vaccinated and masks are not even mandatory!!! How stupid. Then when you ask any questions they act like they are know-it-alls Very condescending. Just not a very friendly courteous place to spend our hard earned money is all. Great family-owned shop, has been there for years. They're all very knowledgeable. The daughter helped me choose a racquet to meet my level of play. They have a practice wall in the back where you can try out the racquets you're considering. They have everything you'll need: shoes, apparel, racquets, grips, balls, etc and they string your racquet for a fee. It would be nice if there wasn't a stringing fee when you buy a $250+ racquet but that's just me. The shop is packed with inventory, after a while of being in there is does start to get a bit claustrophobic, especially if there's more than 3-4 customers shopping in there. The have a wide selection of strings and the workers are always professional and able to provide good recommendations based on my needs. My husband left his racket to be restrung, and I waited in line to buy shoes. The seating area is small, but the staff is so efficient, I was waited on quickly. Roger is phenomenal! A pretty good tennis shop for all your tennis needs. It's open 7 days a week, which is a bonus. If you need emergency racket stringing, you could get it done in a pinch so long as you bring it in first thing in the morning and are willing to come back for it. I'd call first. It's in a convenient location with street parking. The store itself is kind of a hodge podge of what you need for your game. A smattering of clothes, rackets, shoes, etc. You'll likely find what you need if you're in a hurry for it. People are friendly. read more

The staff is in fact very knowledgeable. The prices are similar with Tennis Warehouse but you're supporting a local business. There are senior people (immunocompromised) working there which makes it more important to continue wearing a mask while we are still facing with Covid. They have a great program that gives you the opportunity to try their rackets for a very low price (rent) and what you pay goes towards the purchase of the racket. Now that most tennis shops and even big corporate websites have been struggling with low inventory of tennis shoes for months, you can still find really good brands and plenty options with them. Don't expect a fake nice customer service but they've never been condescending or rude to me. I bought two pairs of shoes (in different visits) with them, I took forever to decided what to buy, try a lot of pairs. I ended up returning both pairs without any problem. They were very considerate and understanding about the importance of not keeping the shoes if I was not 100% sure. In times were we are left with mostly the choice to buy everything online from big corporations and wait sometimes weeks to receive those items to find out we don't like them or they don't fit. It's great to know you still have places like this (having by the way a hard time competing with the big corporations) were you can actually go and see in person what you have been looking for days online, it's great! I really like going there to try there rackets on their indoor wall court. They are nothing but super patient with me about trying as many rackets as I need. I really like and enjoy this place a lot. Came in today for a pair of shoes and loved the experience! The staff is maintaining distancing by keeping the shop at limited capacity so there was a small wait outside to enter. Upon entering we were the only ones in the shoe area which was nice since I could have the space around me to shop at peace and look at each product carefully. The staff member with a the ponytail was the best! Wish I got their name but not only did they bring me the shoe I was interested in, I was able to check out all the colors they had and ended up with a staff recommendation they pulled from the back which was similar to the one I selected. It was nice to be able to have someone take the time to show me all the options and let me find the right shoe. I ended up with comfortable, stylish ASICS on sale! A couple months ago I had the worst shopping experience at dick's sporting goods and their selection was terrible with shoes so coming here was a breath of fresh air + supporting small business is always good! read more
