Her and Jessica did my taxes and bookkeeping for that year until 2022 and a few months of 2023 until I stopped my bookkeeping bc they were charging me $575/mo when in reality, Jessica would collect all my statements at the end of the year. She did this both in 2021 and 2022... realizing I was basically paying over 6k in "services" that were mainly handled at the end of the year. I didn't question it at first bc I was grateful they helped me set up my LLC and helped with getting a PPP loan. However the funds were already ran out by 2022 which is the year that I was continuing to be charged for not even having a payroll. So I canceled that service in March 2023. At the same time made a connection with a client who not only does tax preparation but has experience in business valuation for startups. Which he also was shocked at what I was paying and said I was being screwed by these two women. The worse thing is last year when I was doing my LLC paperwork, I found out my address was never changed. I had moved a SECOND time and asked Fannie to please update my address which she even had the nerve to charge $20 for. I sent her the payment thinking it would be handled and now my LLC is suspended bc I had to go to the FTB in person to find out what happened. FTB informed me that they had been mailing me letters (to the original address) that I haven't lived in for now over 4 years! And Fannie NEVER UPDATED MY ADDRESS EVEN AFTER I ASKED HER AGAIN FOR THE THIRD TIME AND PAID HER TO DO SO. Now I'm stuck with penalties from HER MISTAKE. To make matters WORSE, she's instructed her staff to "not service me bc I'm not a paying client" and I have screenshots of all this. Her Yelp reviews also show her lack of integrity and questionable behavior and services. Including her B- rating on BBB. She should be accountable for her actions. To top this off, she is part of a "leadership community" built off integrity and responsibility and you can see this clearly lacks here.

I was unaware what could be deducted so it was Emily's job (the tax preparer) to help with me that. Don't get me wrong she was very nice women but she basically screwed me over by asking me whether or not I want to save money and of course I did at that time. I was informed and advised that renovations and closing cost could be written off as long as you have proof of payment. Unfortunately not according to the IRS. I provided the IRS with receipt proof and bank stammers of all the renovations that were done and now I owe them a total of $1,461.18 You know what's even funnier I didn't even get that much money back when I filed my taxes and now I owe the IRS money. I'm very lucky to have enough money saved up for emergencies like this but not everyone does especially with the pandemic and the world in shambles. Lesson learned I'll be filing with someone else. Could I give less than a 1 star???…read more We have used Casablanca in La Puente to prepare our taxes for many years. After Suzanne passed away Victor Ruiz took over our case. Forward to 2025 doing our 2024 taxes: February 2025, I sent my tax information to Casablanca and received a notification on 2/24 they received our paperwork. About a week later got a call informing me my taxes were done, and they asked for my credit card payment information. I paid. Wendy asked if I wanted electronic or paper copy of my package. I said please mail my copy to me. I waited 2 weeks and had already received my refund from the government. Still no copy of my tax package from Casablanca. I called and asked Wendy where it was, and she said it was being mailed out that day. A few days later I received my package in the mail. Upon reviewing what they electronically filed I noticed a significant error on line 6a listing our 1099 income. Then looking across to 6b was a different totally random number. I checked the 1099's I submitted to them and saw their check marks noting all amounts looked at. They just input the wrong amounts! Numbers and accuracy should be very important for someone being paid to process taxes!!! Alarmed I immediately called Casablanca and spoke with Wendy again. I reviewed the errors I caught. She asked me to email a copy of the 1099's again and said Victor would reprocess the entire package again and correct errors. Of course, this means an addendum needs to be done and we now stand a chance of being red flagged for an audit in addition to now owing the Fed repayment. Forward to the next week. Still NO RESPONSE from them. I emailed and called the office again. Wendy told me they should have this taken care of by the end of the week Friday or Saturday. Forward to the next week. Still NO RESPONSE! So, Monday I sent ANOTHER email informing them I would be going out of town April 6 and wanted to know if this would all be taken care of before then. Again, NO RESPONSE! Tuesday, I called the office and was informed Wendy was "in a meeting" and they would take a message and that she would call me. I told them that I was not feeling confident about the entire process of the abilities of their office. I understand the end of filing date is close and they are more than likely busy. However, I feel their screw up has made me very anxious, I want it addressed ASAP and should be a priority. Hopefully this is addressed before the 2025/2026 filing year. Would be nice if I could submit a positive comment how they intend to address and repair this fiasco. After this posting I got a quick response! I now owe the Fed a little over 1K I will keep you posted if I get an audit notification due to additional errors.

I paid funds that were intended to be remitted to the California Franchise Tax Board (FTB), and I received written confirmation from Alfred acknowledging receipt of that payment (which I documented via screenshot). Weeks later, I began receiving past-due notices from the FTB stating that no payment had been applied. After contacting the FTB directly, they confirmed they had no record of payment. Despite my documented proof that the funds were received, I was given repeated assurances from Alfred and team over several months that the issue was being handled, yet I was never provided a claim reference number or documentation confirming that payment had been made despot me asking multiple times. As the FTB deadline approached, Alfred told me my funds would be sent "Thursday or Friday," even though the deadline was that Saturday, leaving virtually no margin for error. When that deadline arrived, Alfred sent an email citing a family emergency along with an unsolicited photo showing a bleeding head injury as reason he couldn't send my requested funds back. I found this inappropriate and unrelated to resolving a business matter involving tax funds and a state deadline. Ultimately, it was only after I clearly stated I would proceed with legal action and formal reporting that the funds were finally returned, allowing me to pay the FTB directly and avoid further penalties. It should not require this level of escalation to resolve a tax payment issue. Alfred is very charismatic, which initially builds trust. However, based on my experience, I strongly encourage anyone considering this firm to reconsider. Note: I was repeatedly referred to as a "VIP client," which created an expectation of professionalism and priority handling that was not reflected in how this matter was ultimately addressed This situation was prolonged, unnecessarily stressful, and avoidable.
