From the very first call, the experience was incredible. They arrived within 60 minutes and immediately took control of the situation. Because we couldn't be there in person, it meant everything that they were able to work independently in the home and communicate clearly throughout the process. They stopped the damage quickly and professionally, and gave us full peace of mind from hundreds of miles away. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this company. Thank you so much to Matt, Adam, and Senthil for stepping in during our time of need. Your responsiveness, care, and professionalism made a stressful situation so much easier to handle. Their team helped coordinate everything, including asbestos tile removal with a local company called Umbrella, who also did an exceptional job. Special thanks to Matt, Adam, Justin, and Senthil -- all of them were knowledgeable, respectful, and provided outstanding value. They took the time to explain the process, answered every question, and made sure everything was handled properly and safely. RestoPro truly came through for me during a time of need. It's funny that I had other contractors come here and they were able to draw up the plans and give me an estimate without the hassle. Now, we can't even use Belfor for an estimate because it will cost us $400. So definitely not a free estimate for us. We will not be using them at all. Beware. It all seems wonderful at first and then they never contact you back. It's been over two weeks and we have not received an estimate from Belfor yet. It does take some time to create an estimate, but this is too long. Not thrilled. Will update if we ever hear back. My house insurance company recommended Belfor as a potential contractor to raze and build our garage. Belfor was one of two contractors I could actually reach on the phone. I am working with Todd. It was very simple to set up an estimate. He was able to come out only a few days after we spoke. Other contractors were not available at all. Anyway, Todd came out to our house this morning. He's very professional and knowledgeable. He is actually a project manager who stays on the project from start to finish. He gave us some really good advice and how to expedite the process. We do have other contractors coming in to give us estimates, so we haven't hired Belfor yet. I do feel confident if we hired Belf that they would continue to be professional and do an excellent job. I will update my review if we decide to hire them.

My "dream team" -- Eric Markwald, James Stossmeister, Anthony Heald, and their crew -- truly deserve recognition bonuses for their exceptional skill, dedication, and workmanship. They worked tirelessly, often around the clock, to help restore my home while also assisting many others affected by the historic 2025 Milwaukee floods. Beyond their technical expertise, what meant the most was their kindness, compassion, and patience. They provided reassurance and support when I was overwhelmed, anxious, and facing the challenges of dealing with insurance adjusters while being displaced from my home and without my belongings. They guided me through every step of the mitigation, reconstruction, and insurance processes, always keeping me informed and confident that things would be made right. We are now approaching a year since Servpro North turned what should have been a straightforward mitigation job into a prolonged, expensive, and still-unresolved situation. I am a master carpenter who personally designed and remodeled our home. I understand industry standards, and the work performed here fell well below them. After Servpro placed equipment in our home, we spent three full weeks requesting its removal. We received no response, despite repeated, documented outreach from both us and our insurance company. The equipment then failed, releasing significant amounts of water from our top floor through to our basement. The result included: Newly installed hardwood floors permanently warped and discolored at the seams Sagging ceilings and compromised drywall Damaged personal property Materials impacted that raised asbestos-related concerns Ongoing disruption to our home and daily life What followed was equally concerning. Throughout the process, Brad did not provide accountability, a clear plan for remediation, or consistent communication. Multiple outreach attempts went unanswered. Instead of addressing the damage, we received a lien-related document that had no valid basis, which required us to retain legal counsel at our own expense to resolve. This added unnecessary cost and stress to an already difficult situation. Even after legal involvement, attempts to reach a resolution have not been successful. Months later, after Servpro had already been paid by our insurance company, we were presented with an additional invoice that had not previously been discussed or agreed upon. The insurance obviously company declined this submission. This invoice also included cleaning-related charges that had originally been described to us as complimentary due to unsanitary and unsafe site conditions created during the work. We also made multiple requests (well over a dozen) for MSDS documentation and did not receive it. This was thoroughly documented by our insurance team. During this time, I experienced a severe contact dermatitis reaction requiring medical treatment (Prednisone for an entire month). In an effort to resolve the matter and move forward, we offered to settle for a portion of the total damages (approximately $4,000 compared to an estimated $12,000+ impact). That proposal did not result in a resolution. We are reasonable and patient homeowners who made repeated good-faith efforts to communicate and resolve this situation directly before writing public reviews. All of the above is documented. At this point, the concern extends beyond the initial damage. It is the lack of communication, absence of accountability, and difficulty obtaining resolution that has made this experience so challenging. If you are considering hiring this company, it is important to understand not only the work itself, but how situations are handled if something goes wrong.

(2) Servpro installed a temporary sink without asking my permission or obtaining approval from insurance and then charged $1,322 for it and the temporary sink leaked and caused more property damage which Servpro refused to rectify. Before they started work, Servpro was provided with Travelers estimate of the mitigation work which did not include a line item for a temporary sink. Prior to mitigation, Servpro did not request approval for a temporary sink. Servpro did not ask the homeowner if they would like a temporary sink. Servpro installed a temporary sink. A week later, there were leaks from the temporary sink which resulted in the homeowner having to pay $339.71 out of pocket for dehumidifiers to rectify the issue after Servpro refused to. Homeowner was then billed $960 for a temporary sink and $362 for the hook up of the temporary sink for a total of $1,322.

Our project…read moremanager acted like he had done this a million times over, told us to trust him and that he would take care of everything - So, that's what we did and boy did we learn our lesson. There were days when the workers wouldn't show up, alot of the work is super shotty and it took months to complete, despite a 6 week contract. They didn't patch before painting, so when I asked that they drop off the extra paint from the project so I could fix it, they told me they threw it out, but then someone else's half empty cans of paint ended up in my house. In one room, they even got paint all over the furniture. As far as the bathrooms, the tile work is beyond sloppy! There were times throughout the project that we'd get random calls that we were behind on payment and we NEVER ONCE were invoiced - How can I pay a bill that I never received? The PM would call and when we would respond stating the lack of invoice, he would simply state, "oh yeah I know, billing is behind"....um what? We immediately paid said invoices and life went on. Finally, once it was all complete and after not hearing from him/EFW for months we got slapped with a final bill even though we approved insurance to pay them directly. Turns out that the PM had NEVER submitted anything he was claiming to over to our insurance company so nothing got handled, no claims approvals, no final payouts were made to either party - we trusted them to handle the insurance part as their 'expertise'. The worst part was that we didn't even know this wasn't taken care of until some random lady reached out to us to collect - we never heard from the guy we were working with again... apparently he was just fired without ANY communication from EFW to us. This entire experience was an ABSOLUTE nightmare. It's our fault for "trusting" someone's word, so I take that blame, but the lack of service, customer care is sickening and I hope that someone else can learn from our mistake. This is YOUR home that these people will be in and I don't want anyone else to go through this. Run people. Run.

We will never use Emergency Fire & Water Restoration again or recommend them to anyone we know…read more They would barge in unannounced (they had a key to the unit) and leave mud (and sometimes paint) all over our hardwood floors. We often weren't even given the cutesy of a knock at the door when they arrived. We repeatedly asked them to at least knock when they arrived, and not only did they give little effort, they tracked mud/dirt all over our living areas and didn't clean when they left. "Cleaning" was factored into the massive bill, but we were the ones stuck cleaning up their mess. One of their employees even complained to us that they are paid very little and they often hire inexperienced people. This was evident by the low quality work we repeatedly witnessed. The pictures that were shown to our contact who was overseeing the project and he did not appear bothered in the slightest by our complaints. One day a young crew came and slammed down packages (thinking nobody was home). They were very loud and swore a lot. I called there supervisor and complained while they were outside playing on their phones. Some of these packages ruptured and our contact came out and seemed visibly upset that his crew behaved in such a way. We were told they were suspended. It took Emergency Fire and Water Restoration 3 months to finish the job. We were made to feel like a very low priority. We had to live among paint cans, dirt/dust, plastic, holes in the floor and wall for a long time. We are very lucky that we don't have children. This entire job should have been done within a month (this is what we were originally told!). There would be many days that nobody would show up to work on our place. It was tough to get updates from them/progress reports. I guess they got what they wanted though (lots of money). The invoice that we had to repeatedly ask for was very, very questionable. There were charges that we didn't understand and they failed to explain.
