SURGICAL SERVICES DON- Please keep hiring great nurses- your staff is wonderful, but I've learned how to study body language for a hot minute now; as I continue forward with earning my master's degree in counseling. Your staff is incredible, but clearly overworked. Do anything you can to keep them on staff. I highly suggest that Alyssa be included within the hiring team, and that her input be genuinely considered. She has prepped me twice within the last month. She really knows her stuff. This hospital is beyond blessed to have such caring nursing and support staff. Dr. Trevisani, Dr. Calhoun- They're quick and to the point, you're under anesthesia, then, BAM! You wake up and get a thorough description of their findings. The team in gowns- I didn't get your names, but you all have great personalities and taste in music! Ashley who guided me to the patient exam room and did my triage/pre-assessment was very kind and patient, and also had some pretty stylish boots. For a medical office, I must say they were a stylish bunch and I let them know it, but I did go on their Casual Friday as they told me it was. The office was also very clean, smelled nice, and even was decorated for Christmas. It seems that they are quite booked because the physicals they had available to book were few which is a good sign. It's just a little bit challenging if you are a new patient (which I was/am). Overall, I just wished to say that the staff was very nice. Dr. Sarah (who is an ARNP, but i still call nurse practitioners and PA's doctors anyways lol) was pleasant and went through my health questionnaire and also addressed my cold/swollen lymph nodes concern. I also like that there is a pharmacy located behind the office as well. A nice added touch was the Christmas tree in the corner that had knit mittens on it that you could either take a pair from or donate a pair to. There is also a bulletin board that communicates things such as vaccine schedules, therapy help, and other things like a wellness drumming session which i did not know existed. I had to schedule my physical exam a few months out, but I appreciated the promptness of my appt. and the candor in which the staff demonstrated towards me. I hope this review helps start a positive review trend.

I never met a more amazing health care provider. She actually listens and helps with your issues. The only reason I stayed during the rough patch was her. I have never regretted it. I do however know that…read morehe has a PA by the name of Kathy Glenn Roberts aka Kathleen Glenn whom was previously employed at the Medical Center on Hammond Lane and I was a patient of her. I needed a PCP at the time so I had called the Great North Medical Ctr. and she was whom I was assigned to not a Doctor but a PA pretending to be a Doctor. She seemed pleasant enough at first until she started to diagnose me with all kinds of illnesses that I was sure I didn't have, My wife came to an office visit with me at one point and told her that I did not have Hypertension , I had what was called "white coat syndrome" she had an immediate dislike for my wife, My wife suggested a BP monitor Kathy agreed. Bottom line I wore the monitor for 48 hrs and returned , results all normal NO high BP reading. This PA was too quick to try to prescribe an RX for something I didn't need. Then she started in on a load of other things , when I felt perfectly healthy. The only issue I did develop was a belly button hernia which I knew needed surgery , my wife scheduled it in VT and I went to an appt. to see Kathleen for the referral before she knew the appointment in VT had already been made, she started to tell me she would set up an appointment with some surgeon in Plattsburgh and I said NO, I am already set up for a Surgeon in VT , I just need the referral faxed over to them for insurances purposes, She was pissed off and knew my wife had set it up. I said , I want to live and there are NO specialist in Plattsburgh for this type of surgery. I did have the surgery and all went well. I finally decided to get a new PCP and I heard Kathy was leaving anyway so great time to change. I asked for all my records which were paper at that time , I was totally blown away by some of the things she has written in MY medical record. She had wrote more about my wife than me, stating that my wife caused me stress ! What ? I never told her such a thing , my wife caused HER stress. I did not like the unprofessional things she wrote about my wife in my medical records that had no reason to had been written and were not true. Kathleen Glenn is a wanna be Doctor with no personality , no as they say bed side manner, rude , drug pusher, quick to diagnose and should not be allowed to be practicing medicine unless under strict supervision if at all. I would not bring an animal to her. If I am wrong and she is no longer at Dr. Ambler's , I apologize to the office. If she is there DO not accept her as your PCP she's a know it all and know's nothing.

I am now middle aged and wish to give him the recognition he deserves. He is more knowledgeable and compassionate than any physician I had ever worked with at Stanford, which is a world class hospital. I have been unable to find a personal physician that even comes close to Dr. Newman's stellar medical care. He has set the bar so high that any physician I have had here in Stanford is just a huge disappointment. I often feel that I should move back to Canada to once again receive excellent medical care. He truly listens, he truly cares, he is a phenomenal diagnostician, he has saved my parent's lives more than once, he has helped me through some of the most difficult times, he goes above and beyond without exception, and he is as close to a saint as you will find on this earth. He will always be exceptional. The finest physician you will ever have the privilege to know. There is none better. I did my "suivi de grossesse" here - ie; one million follow up appointments while cooking my kiddo - and over time realized this group offers what was for me the perfect balance between midwives on the one hand and high medicalized obstetric surgeons on the other. I wanted a hippie goddess mother birth vibe with all the ressources modern medicine could provide and that's exactly what I got. Unlike some of my friends who did their pregnancy follow ups in other hospitals and clinics I was encouraged to have a birth plan and to bring in a doula - two simple factors that statistically increase a mother's likelihood of having a positive birth experience. I always felt like I was being educated and supported in my choices and never judged or bullied. In the end I ended up seeing 3 different doctors from this group during my longgggg and complicated labour and they were all these kind, powerful, wise women who we trusted immediately and with good reason. Our appointments were almost always on time or within 20 minutes (I had friends wait over 2hrs for their pregnancy checkups) we always felt like our doctor, though a busy badass, would take any amount of time required to answer our questions and make us feel confident before walking out the door - so key when you're a freaked out first time parent. And the reception were kind, quick and friendly. All in all, an amazing experience during a nerve wracking miraculous time.
