Why 5 stars? Because bringing our son here was the best thing we ever did for him…read more --- --- --- The first 3-4 years of our son's life were pretty challenging because he was prone to some frequent Olympic level meltdowns when things weren't going his way. After a couple of attempts, we eventually got an official diagnosis of Autism, which allowed us to have access to ABA therapy. Despite the fact that he loved the daycare he was in, we transitioned and enrolled him full-time at Behavioral Innovations. Within literally one, maybe two weeks, we already noticed a big difference at home. He suddenly was able to regulate his emotions so much better. I don't know how these folks do it, but they are true miracle workers. They also helped immensely with potty training, something that we attempted to do on our own and it did not work out well for us. Our son went to BI for one year and everything about the experience was amazing. He's basically a new person, and all for the better. If you are looking into ABA therapy, we cannot recommend this location strongly enough. Alyssa was our BCBA and there was so many great therapists that worked with our son: Nadia, (two different) Megan's, (two different) Chris's, Jennifer, and countless others. My advice to parent's who are considering ABA therapy... 1) You may read some negatives about ABA, as we did. But I can confidently say that we had a 100% positive experience here. Maybe that's not the case for everyone, but for us, there are no horror stories to share. 2) We toured every facility in the area and ultimately landed on BI. While it was not the closest to our house (I literally drove right past another facility every day en route to BI), I'm so glad we ended up coming here. The people deeply care here. To the point where many tears were shed on our son's last day because they were going to miss him. While we're so happy that our son is off to pre-school, we're also so sad that we won't get to see everyone's smiling faces here on a daily basis anymore. Thank you Behavioral Innovations for everything!

The end of this month will be 6 months that my daughter has been at the center and she has made TREMENDOUS progress. The techs there are kind, patient and offer personalized interactions with each kid based on their own characteristics. This Action Behavior Center was the only one group of centers I visited that didn't have cameras or monitoring for parents. I was hesitant about it because I like to be thoroughly involved. From day one she has been excited to go and attached to every single tech. She will quickly leave me to run to the staff. That completely eased any discomfort with monitoring since she has a loving attachment with all of them. Megan works the front and her spirit and kindness is so refreshing and an amazing way to start every morning whether parent of child. Jenica has been so knowledgeable and reassuring every step of the way. The updates are constant and thorough and attention to detail with my daughter's behaviors are impressive. I confidentially feel that their interest in my child's well being, in all aspect, is as important to the techs as it is to me. They incorporate my concerns and my wishes while still maintaining their goals for her. You can tell that the techs there love their jobs and it really makes a difference in the quality of care my daughter receives. Slowly and surely they are becoming apart of our family. I feel heard and seen and never have my concerns fall on deaf ears. We work together to Implement plans and structure and today my child is a completely different person. She's young and has a long way to go but with the help of everyone here I am So excited and welcome the journey. This place is the best place for your children.

I recently moved to Texas and scheduled a telehealth appointment with MAVA Behavioral Health LLC…read morefor psychiatric medication management after being prescribed a new blood pressure medication and experiencing panic attacks for the first time. I have worked in the medical profession for decades, so I am familiar with how clinical visits and patient privacy procedures are normally handled. My goal for the appointment was to review my psychiatric medications in light of the new blood pressure medication and discuss the panic symptoms that had begun around the same time. I initially requested Henry Chavez but was told he did not see patients. I was offered an appointment the following day with Fanny Nnabuike, PMHNP. The appointment confirmation, time change, and call-back request are all reflected in my call log and appointment notifications. My appointment was originally confirmed for the afternoon. However, the office called the morning of the visit and said it would be canceled unless I called back immediately. When I returned the call, I was told the afternoon time was no longer available and was offered an appointment beginning just three minutes later. When I joined the telehealth session using the link provided by the office, another patient was already present in the call due to what appeared to be a scheduling or link error. For a brief time, we could see each other's faces and names before the provider addressed the situation and the other patient exited the session. Given my background in healthcare, this raised concerns for me regarding patient privacy. When the appointment began, I attempted to explain that I had recently started medication for high blood pressure and wanted to review my psychiatric medications for potential interactions while discussing the new panic symptoms I had been experiencing. In response the provider said she needed to "look something up." She muted the microphone but the video remained on. During that time I observed her speaking with someone in the office, laughing and gesturing. When the conversation resumed, I attempted to continue explaining my concerns but had difficulty completing my explanation and felt my concerns were dismissed rather than fully evaluated. What struck me most during the appointment was noticing my own reaction on the telehealth screen. I saw myself shrinking back, withdrawing, and hesitant to speak, which surprised me. A mental health appointment should be a setting where patients feel safe discussing symptoms and medication concerns. At that point I decided to advocate for myself. As politely as possible, I told the provider mid appointment that I was going to end the call. I immedielty contacted the office to request removal as a patient. The office offered to schedule me with another provider, but I chose to seek care elsewhere. Seeking psychiatric care can already be difficult and given the importance of patient privacy and respectful communication in mental health care, I hope the practice reviews its telehealth procedures to prevent similar situations for future patients.
