Set up on Saturday and Wednesday mornings beginning at 9:00 (until 1:00 pm) on First and Jackson Streets in downtown Corvallis right across from the Willamette River waterfront park, we delayed departure from Corvallis after a multi day visit so we could walk up the couple of blocks from our hotel and shop on a beautiful October Wednesday morning. Not as many farmers and producers present on a Wednesday but this is still a great market even with fewer participants. We filled up our cooler with fresh produce including organic salad greens, kira squash, romano beans, multiple kinds of grapes, kumquats (no kidding...the farmer grows these in a hoop house with other citrus), eggplant, and multiple kinds of pears, apples and plums. We also had a chance to talk to quince farmers who make quince paste, a fav of ours with Fall and Spanish cheese selections, and buy a couple of jars to tuck away. And bread selections from Wild Yeast including small rounds of sourdough whole wheat, hazelnut and cinnamon raisin batard all of which were available in whole loaf and smaller half loaf sizes. Wild Yeast mini rye pastry galette with local mixed apples as filling was the perfect breakfast treat and the mini Marguerite fougasse and cranberry Swiss cheese roll were dinner that night at our destination. If we lived in the Corvallis area we would be regular shoppers here and be able to buy the things like a marvelous assortment of microgreens, fresh made cheeses, pollinator plants and all sorts of produce that we didn't have room to bring home. ACCESSIBILITY: Street surfacing which is firm and stable works for shoppers of all abilities and since I was using a wheelchair on this trip I particularly appreciated that. Although the ADA is 33 years old and requires outdoor markets to be on surfaces that allow everyone equal access you would be astounded how many still set up on deep gravel lots or deep grass, neither of which allow disabled shoppers access. Good for the Corvallis organizers for getting this right! read more

Got here an hour before closing so didn't have much time to check out all the vendors. Got the breakfast crepe with crème fraiche for $12. It was good and would get it again. Kim and Erika's crystal stand was great. They had some beautiful pieces and reasonable pricing. They are super nice and I found 4 pieces that went home with me. I love Farmer's Market season!! Haven't been back to this one in a few years, Covid and all that. Finally made it out and it's as good, even a little better than I remember. The waterfront location is great for a market. It spreads everything out so you never feel crowded and you have more reason to stay in the area, walking through the scenery, or exploring the nearby eats (some of my favorite) and boutiques. The product at the booths are pretty standard prices, and I love supporting these local businesses. The little pocket of artisans is chatty and friendlier than a lot I've been through. It's early in the year so I'm excited to see how it grows with the good weather as the season goes on, but they tough out a chilly morning like absolute champs. It closes by one, make sure you get out in the early part of your day. It's a great way to ease into a Saturday and leaves you perky for more shenanigans. Buskers are good and well placed, food carts are solid, they always have little extra activities and mini events, and the vibe is very pleasant. Parking is a bit harder in the Summer if memory serves, because math, but we've never actually had a problem with it. It's a great one for kids too, because they aren't boxed in, there's a lot of grass and a climbing structure, and in the Summer the sprayground. There's plenty of space you can step in and out of to do parent things (or escape humanity) as necessary. Very dog friendly of course. More laid back than the Eugene market while comparable despite the smaller size for selection of goodies. read more

Being up in Corvallis for the weekend i wanted to check out the farmers market. Plus the fact that i still haven't made it to any in the city :(. I will thought soon!!! Waking up with a slight hangover still won't stop me from getting my farm fresh goodies. Hand me some gatorade and pancakes with scrambled egss, some clothes, and flip flops and i'm out the door with my roommate and our friend coming with. The dark, threatening, lurking clouds were something to worry about but thankfully there was a huge break in the sky with sunshine and slight sprinkle during the trek. Not bad not bad. But one thing was missing was the Kettle Korn booth!!! The girls wanted to buy a bag for a get together thing later tonight at one of our girl friends place but there was no welcoming, sweet, warm smell of kettle corn!! that's not a good sign :( Ended up going to Freddies to get the microwavable kind :( Photos have been uploaded finally! I imagine that typically this farmer's market is on fire. But on a cold, foggy day 24 hours from Thanksgiving... it was basically a ghost town. Six, maybe seven vendors with limited selections and maybe 10 people total shopping. With the elements in play (eerie fog, very few humans preambling around, etc...) it resembled more of a post-apocalyptic gathering of survivors than a celebration of locavore appreciation. But on the bright side, the heritage turkey we purchased and the free cheese samples at least made it worth our trek down. Maybe next time, Corvallis Farmer's Market! read more

I've tried to like this market. I really have. But I've now stopped going. Basically, it's the people attending (not the sellers) that ruin this market. A good segment are people are there to show the world how "different" they are. No...you are not different and unique. You've just a dull, loud person who wants attention. Then there are the people with their SUV baby carriages. Do you really need something the size of a Hummer to walk around your precious bundle of cloned DNA/center of the universe? And lastly, the dogs. Now, I like dogs. They are wonderful creatures. But when I'm constantly being tripped by Mr. and Mrs. Organic Yuppie's golden retriever's dog leash, I get annoyed. Luckily there are other farmers markets from which to buy fresh food. Lately I've been going to the Albany market and it's refreshingly more "real" and down to earth. read more

This is really hard for elderly parents or young kids. I'm sure I won't be popular for saying this but I think they shouldn't allow dogs in the main isle. Huge safety issues. read more

What's a girl visiting from Hawaii to do the morning her cousin's class of 6,752 students (largest graduating class in history) from OSU is graduating?! Visit the Corvallis Farmer's Market in search of some FRESH fruit! Living in Hawaii, 75% of our produce is shipped which means shelf life is already shortened, and the fruit isn't fresh as it's been you know, sitting on a ship for a couple of days before arriving on the island. My eyes were immediately drawn to the rainier cherries (my FAVE summer fruit) and not even available on the islands yet, and the buckets of strawberries! Both were sweet, and the cherries were nice and plump. My family and I devoured them in two days. I only wish we bought more. I love sourdough bread, it's my favorite of all breads. The sun-dried tomato at one of the stands was perfect for breakfast. I like how they gave out samples as well so I could try different ones before deciding which one to purchase. My cousin and I each got coffee, he an mocha and myself a hazelnut latte. I definitely appreciate the fact that they do NOT charge extra for soy or almond milk! Say what?! That's unheard of. Thank you. I also liked how the coffee was organic, and their coffee had a wholesome taste. Not bitter at all. The folk musicians playing, and pretty much every couple of feet with different musicians truly made this an experience. I shall be back. read more

If I brought guests who had never been to Oregon to one thing it'd be the farmer's market in Corvallis. Every hundred feet musicians are placed playing folk or Americana music. There's the fountain on the river side where children can be seen running through the water, often sans official swimwear. Gay couples? Check. Rednecks? Check. Dogs? Check. Organic produce? Check. Rabbit meat? Check. I don't see any guns but with Oregon's CCP laws I'm sure they are in abundance. Also check out the good food available here. Don't see what you want? The Corvallis Farmers' Market is a funky place to go (the Eugene Saturday Market is funkier) There's plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables,all for good prices. Since the Willamette Valley is agricultural, the Farmers' Market has a pleasant country vibe. Even for those of us who can't get provisions there every week,there's the cookbook "Simply in Season" by Mary Beth Lind and Cathleen Hockman-Wert. Small and quaint, but has everything you need. Tons of vegetable and meat selections. Some unique items I hadn't encountered before, like garlic scapes. A couple stands had farm fresh eggs. Kinda wish they had a bigger cheese selection, and the cheese they had available you can purchase at Market of Choice. Get there early as the more popular items will sell out. This past weekend they had strawberries, everyone sold out pretty quickly. Also get there early if you are interested in purchasing breads, as they become soggy sitting out all morning. Granted this was a hot day. Not many places to eat either. An ice cream shop, coffee shop, a vegan and a southwestern place called Zia. We ordered 2 burritos from Zia, which were absolutely amazing. The homemade tortilla was super delicious and melts in your mouth. O and on this day they had watermelon agua fresca which was refreshing, not sure if they switch up the flavors? The seafood market was nothing special and completely overpriced. The sushi grade ahi tuna was HALF the price at Market of Choice. Not much variety either. Overall friendly vendors, lots of cute pups walking around. Will return, particularly for fruits and veggies. read more

I don't have the pleasure of shopping at this market on a regular basis to know how it works for a lifestyle of local, fresh goods, as I no longer live in the area, but MAN, to visit the market while in town- people watch, browse booths, have a coffee, and delight in the community of Corvallis, is WONDERFUL. I was at the market in September, most recently, and it was an unexpectedly sunny day. The street was packed. There were dogs with every third owner. The Adams Elementary Marimba group was playing. I ate a Zia burrito and sipped a coffee and then reconnected with the owner of Grandpa's Woodshed who I have known since I was 10 years old. It was lovely, quaint, charming, and so small town. I. LOVED. IT. As I started out saying, I strongly suspect local food would be plentiful, fresh produce overwhelming, and meats and cheeses to compliment your fare more than adequate, to eat well as long as the market was open. There is a great variety of stands with friendly people who know their product there, to help you. I'm sure this is what the market is for many/most people, but I think it also stands out to me as a cultural institution of sorts for Corvallis, and a reminder for me that small towns may have limitations, but the character of the people and the love they have for local and fresh often win out when you're looking for some good eats and great people to surround yourself with. We very much enjoyed wandering through the Corvallis Farmers Market. Wasn't the largest I've been to, but the quality produce options were terrific! If we weren't traveling through, we would have purchased a lot more. As it was, we purchased a very nice pumpkin and some delicious shortbread cookies! I highly recommend going! For me Farmer's Markets are about two things: vibe and deliciousness, this one has both in spades. The produce selection is massive and so colorful (you hear me photography folks... you want your super mondo rockin camera here). The berries win extremely high marks, as do the local breads. My dude got a huge pretzel from the pretzel lady that won him over. And there is music, a music that is too often missing from life, the music of people who just like to play. Quite possibly my favorite Famers Market on the West Coast - definitely gives Santa Monica a run for its money (though no pony rides). We had the good fortune to hit a beautiful sunny Saturday morning. In addition to the wonderful array of produce (don't miss the Kings blueberries and the freshbaked berry pies, OMG - we brought home three and stuck them in the freezer), beautiful flowers and delicious baked goods (Mr. Francophile said the pain au chocolat was perhaps the best he ever had), there's great music and nice food stalls where you can enjoy a freshly prepared meal. All in all a great experience and fun place to hang out. Get there before 10, though, or you'll feel like you're in the middle of Grand Central Station! read more

I love that the farmer's market has Wednesday hours! I can't go to the Saturday one, as I work, so I can get my veggie fix on Wednesdays! Everyone is super nice and I love getting fresh, local produce. Parking on Wednesdays is easy. Sadly, I can't attest to the Saturday situation. Prices seem pretty darned good too! At one time this was a fun place. No more. The vendors are rude. Don't say thank you and barely smile. They just want your money. Produce this year is very sad looking and overpriced. NO parking downtown. Stay away. When you complain to the Facebook person for this market she is also rude blocks you from the page. She should be fired for not being helpful. I love the farmers market! There are tons of stalls with great local produce farmed and sold by wonderful people! Plenty of variety and options to pick from. The prices are usually reasonable, and sometimes lower than the local grocery stores (and sometimes higher). You never know what you'll see: street musicians from folk groups to a 12 year old standing on the corner cranking out beautiful classical music on her violin (*mandatory stop here to add dollars to her open violin case - brave kid!). Yoga classes on the riverfront, Alpacas, hula hoop-ers, Irish dancers, pets in strollers, petitions to sign...
