The e edition alone is outrageously priced for what you get and when you call customer service, bring your bedroll as you'll be waiting a long time and as an elderly man the person you get is hard to understand. On top of that if you write a letter to the editor that doesn't agree with a certain Trumper, you get sarcasm and rude responses yet when I wrote one in response to their editorial it was rejected. This newspaper is just like Trump, and the editorial staff is operating with a two tiered system of how they see things. They advertise that it is easy to Cancel-in my experience that is false. Further, when I get an email in which the subject begins "Dog is,,,," I am immediately concern about the quaity of their content. REALLY? A dog escaping a burning house is news? Trying to cancel by calling 877 576 4664 gets you 4 options no of which is Cancel. But worst, they use Just Answer to handle cancelling your subscription-sick costly non-joke. Almost cost me $48 because years ago I had a Just Answer membership. Just Answer, imo is one of the worst ripoffs on the intenet. Unbelievable? Nope believe it. read more

This is a great paper, content-wise. I get lots of local news that I can't get anywhere else, I get to hear from my fellow local residents through the Letters page (to which I've contributed myself), and I can thoroughly read leading national and world news stories. The stories are clear, and about as error-free as one could expect (the reporters being human, I allow that each story has one minor misstatement). Customer service, on the other hand, is execrable. It doesn't even qualify as a bad joke. I've only once gotten through with an issue that was actually resolved (when my daily paper was missed). There's no sense in emailing the circulation department, as it will be ignored. Calling them only results in getting disconnected. I've even tried sending physical letters and messages via the billing department and the newsroom (and again, the folks in that division totally rock), but to no avail. The main issue I've had to complain about is a table I've put next to my door for receiving deliveries. I'm on the elderly side, and I have troubles with my back and knees, so I bought that table so I wouldn't have to reach down to the deck to pick things up. And evidently the carrier suffers from some sort of stupidity, though whether it's laziness, spite, bigotry, or some other form is a complete mystery. As the previous reviewer said, this town would be much poorer without our daily newspaper, and being home delivered at that. I just wish I could get a little better customer service. read more

Waaa! No one has written a review for our LOCAL Home Town Gazette yet?!? I may be an old fogey but the best part of my day is reaching just outside my front door for my morning paper and then reading it with breakfast. Home Delivery! Comics! Depressing daily headlines, but then a lot of news about what is going on here in town that I would miss otherwise. It would be great if their small but intrepid staff could be grown, but they are pretty good hitting the highlights. This town would be much poorer without our daily newspaper! CorvSMB read more

In June I signed up with the Gazette online. I used to live in the area and wanted to catch up on what was happening in the area as far as family & friends, obit, etc. In September I decided to cancel my account. I went online to get their phone number. Every phone number was sent directly to a recording. So, I decided to send a message through their "Contact Us" form. I requested to be removed. NOTHING. I sent another on in November 22. NOTHING. I just called again & this time spoke in "customer service" & low and behold it went through. I just called them on the phone & explained the whole thing & they wouldn't refund any of my money even though I had copies of the emails that I sent, etc.. After I was extremely adamant that I wanted to close this thing out, the guy still sits there and reads his whole spiel about "if you choose to start up again, etc., etc.?" I said, "stop my account & he just kept going on & on." THIS IS NO WAY TO DO BUSINESS. READ YOUR EMAILS & DO BUSINESS LEGALLY & HONORABLY INSTEAD OF CHEATING PEOPLE. I am the daughter of a local resident that has been receiving the Corvallis Gazette Times since 1968. At the ripe age of 85-86 their greatest daily pleasure is that first cup of coffee and reading the GT. Unfortunately for the last month and a half the delivery has been spotty at best.
