I have been calling this the "new" HY-Vee since their recent remodel. It has a brighter "feel" than…read moreit had in the past. And with their separate area for their grocery pick up service, congestion has been reduced in the parking lot. I do appreciate their drive through pharmacy as it also reduces congestion inside the store. And a high score for me is that their gas station carries "No Alcohol" fuel (premium pumps only) for the better health of my vehicles fuel systems. On to the store. The demise of their Market Grille was a loss that could be seen coming. When it first opened it rivaled many area sit down restaurants. But as others were opened the original manager was reassigned and service and food dropped off in quality - and continued to drop. It has been replaced by something called Wahlbuger that lacks the menu and service of the past. Their prepared food (I think of it as a cafeteria) has a few highlights like breakfasts and reasonable BBQ (in Kansas City "reasonable" far outweighs very good in most of the rest of the country), along with prepackaged fruit. Starbucks has a stand in the front of the store with all their usual offerings, but across the isle at that snack bar, coffee is available at a much lower cost, and in my opinion, with much better taste and free refills. But to each his own. The Pharmacy is yet another high point. I like the fact that they will send texts when a prescription is ready and that you can manage your prescriptions online. During high demand times they provide curbside flu and COVID-19 shots. I have always found the pharmacy staff to be professional, friendly, and helpful. Smiles can go a long way when you are picking up a prescription called in by your doctor - you likely are not feeling your best at times like that and I appreciate their understanding. I have always found the store clean and well stocked. Their selection is equal or better than other area stores, and their butcher shop staff always goes out of their way to assure you have the most desirable and affordable cuts of meat. Throughout the store the staff is almost always available to assist in locating hard to find items. But being an "Employee Owned" business there appears to be a pride in being part of the business. I like that. Understanding that this is the highest trafficked store in the chain, they still are able to move customers through very efficiently while maintaining good attitudes and customer service. That all said, my opinion is that this is the best (or at least my favorite) Hy-Vee in town.

I shop here only for a few items and only because of the proximity to my home. My biggest critique is your signage is typically wrong on your sale items. And then when I try to get them to honor or adjust the price to match the advertised price, they make me feel like a I am in the wrong and that I'm trying to rip them off when they are the ones who set the sale price.

I often feel you can judge a grocery store by their produce quality, and here it's always pretty good if not a bit more expensive than other stores. Not a place I do my weekly shopping but absolutely fantastic for popping in for a quick thing here or there.

Back when I worked down the street from here, and lived nearby, I used to pop in here frequently for beer, wine, and to indulge in their great salad bar. I don't often find myself grocery shopping in this part of town any longer, but when I do I always notice that they still have a great selection of local items, including beer and wine. AND, they still rock a great salad bar. I popped in here most recently thinking I might try one of the waldo take and bake pizzas that I'd heard were rumoured to be available, and was a bit sad that I would have to get thin crust to get any meats on a 'za. Definitely not Cosentino's fault, but that would be an improvement as I'm not a waldo thin crust fan. At any rate, I think you'll find most of what you need here at a somewhat reasonable price. I'd put prices somewhere in between whole foods and price chopper. While you might pay a little more than going down the street to Price Chopper, you'll find a cleaner shop, and tons more local options, which I always enjoy. Now that I live a little bit further out I find visiting this grocery store to be a bit nostalgic, and I enjoy seeing what little treasures I can find if I find myself here.

The staff was very helpful and kind at Farm Fresh Market! The store is super clean and smells nice. The prices here are very good. Spareribs were $1.99/lb for Smithfield. Fantastic price! They had my wife's favorite salsa. We got a jar of it. When we were checking out, it fell out of the front of the cart and broke on the floor. Salsa and glass everywhere. I was mortified. They would not let me pay for it or tip them for cleaning it up. Tonight, Farm Fresh Market got a customer for life.

I had a peanut butter explosion and the other ladies had some fun frosted sugar cookies. For me the cookies were too crumbly but they loved them. The reason for 3 stars was lack of customer service. I had to go to the front to get cups for soft drinks. The woman I approached didn't say 1 word to me when I told her what I needed. She just walked away to a register where she rang in my purchase. It would have been nice had she said, "follow me," or "I can help you with that." But i figured out what she was doing and paid at the register and then told her I had a problem. She said, "what?" with an irritated tone. I told her I needed the cups I had just paid for. Again, she walked away from me, apparently expecting me to follow her, and I did. Then she asked another employee to hand me the cups. The other woman did that and I thanked her. The cashier who rang up our few groceries was pleasant and the bagger actually joked with me, so at least I had that as I was leaving.

I admire the Hispanic and cultural food section, had everything I needed! Prices are reasonable and you can always find a discount. When I proceeded to checkout, the cashier, Fatima, was super nice and had excellent social skills. Another highlight of my visit! To my surprise she's very young and already does an excellent job. The prices are more expensive than Walmart or Aldi but, I guess they are more cost effective than Hen House or HY-Vee. Though curiously, they do not have actual Sriracha sauce. They have some imitations, but not the real thing. All of the shelves are faced beautifully, and everything is well cared for. We have enjoyed many of the items we have purchased here and never had a problem. They have a good selection of wine, spirits, and beer, as well as groceries and other things. I would have to deduct a star because sometimes the workers are not very friendly, willing to help or, interested in improvements. One night we went there, and there was no usable toilet in the women's room, so my wife had to use the men's room. They were aware of it, and no one took any action.

In addition, McKeever has Tippins Pies. They have petifores and maccrons. We picked up a croissant, a scone, and a cheese danish in addition to the double mudslide cake. This is my go-to upscale grocer. I see that they offer online ordering and pick up. I am going to have to try that.
