I traveled from the San Francisco Bay Area to VIDA for a deep plane facelift with Dr. Quiroz after spending months researching surgeons and reading everything I could find about the procedure. At 55 years old, I wanted a surgeon who had performed deep plane facelifts for many years and a facility that could support me through recovery. I flew into San Diego where the shuttle driver texted me after I landed and told me exactly where to meet him. The drive to Tijuana was easy. There were two other women in the shuttle, both returning to VIDA for additional procedures after having surgery there before. During the ride they talked about their results, their previous experiences, and why they were coming back. As someone traveling for surgery for the first time, hearing that from actual patients was reassuring. Everyone I encountered spoke excellent English, including the drivers, coordinators, nurses, and doctors. Most of the patients I met were Americans who had traveled from different parts of the United States. If someone had dropped me off there without telling me where I was, I could easily have believed I was in a medical facility somewhere in the U.S. When I arrived, my luggage was stored while I completed my pre-operative appointments. I had blood work, a urine test, an EKG, photographs, and consultations. After that I checked into the recovery center for the night before surgery. One thing I appreciated was that everything was located in the same building. The hospital, recovery center, pharmacy, medical offices, and café were all there. I never had to travel from one location to another or worry about transportation between appointments. The morning of surgery I changed into the gown they provided and was given medication to help me relax. I remember being taken into the operating room, lying down on the table, and then waking up later in a hospital bed with a nurse telling me my surgery was finished. I was nervous to look in the mirror because I expected to be extremely swollen and bruised. When I finally looked, I was surprised. There was swelling, of course, but much less than I had imagined. I was not heavily bruised and looked far more normal than I expected after a major surgery. After leaving the hospital, I returned to the recovery center for several nights. Nurses checked on me regularly, brought my medications, monitored my recovery, and were available whenever I needed something. Meals were delivered directly to my room. The food included fresh fruit, vegetables, chicken, soups, salads, potatoes, and smoothies. Coffee, tea, water, and snacks were always available. Violeta answered every question I had before surgery and responded quickly to emails and messages. She helped coordinate all of the details and made the process easy. Rocio was equally helpful during my stay and always made sure I knew what was happening next. Dr. Quiroz answered my questions, explained the procedure, and never made me feel rushed. One of the reasons I chose him was his experience with deep plane facelifts, and throughout my stay I met patients who had previously had surgery with him and were returning again for additional procedures. I am writing this review only one week after surgery. I still have some swelling, especially in my neck, and some bruising, but I already look dramatically different than I did before surgery. My neck was one of the main reasons I decided to have this procedure. It had bothered me for years. Even with swelling still present, it already looks smooth. Over the past few days I have been putting my before photos next to photos taken this week, and I am honestly amazed by the difference. I look younger. Friends and family who have seen photos have noticed it too. The most exciting part is knowing that I am still very early in the healing process and that my final result is still months away. Anyone considering a deep plane facelift should understand that swelling, bruising, temporary asymmetry, tightness, numbness, and visible stitches are normal parts of recovery. No one looks like their final result during the first week. Swelling goes down, bruising fades, stitches are removed, and everything continues to settle over time. That is simply part of the process. I live in Northern California, and when I compare the cost of surgery, transportation, recovery accommodations, nursing care, and follow-up support to what I would have paid locally, the difference is substantial. More importantly, I do not know of any facility near me that provides this level of coordinated care, where surgery, recovery, transportation, nursing support, pharmacy services, and follow-up care are all connected in one place. On September 10, 2025 I had a deep plane face lift and C02 laser treatment with Dr. Quiroz at the Vida Wellness Clinic and I couldn't be happier with the results! Castañedas job so much that I went back Early this Feb 2026 and had my arms done, he really cares about your health before anything because I wasn't able to get my arms done , due to my anemia he isn't like any other Drs. I'm a weight loss surgery success who had a lot of excess skin. In Nov. 2007 I had an extended abdominoplasty, thigh liposuction and a hernia repair with Dr. Quiroz. Went well, treatment was good, but the thighs didn't react well and swelled up terribly. I stayed 10 days to recover. In April, 2008 I went back to have brachioplasty (arm lift) & breast lift with implants. That's where the major disappointment comes in, the arms were left half done. He took off about half of the hanging skin. At first he told me it would shrink with the compression garments, and later told me via email that I would have to come back for a second surgery, that it was too much to do in one visit. The skin on the back of the arms where the arm meets the pit were sewn into a weird point. Since I had flown in from NJ, if I had known that, I would have gone to a local surgeon instead. I honestly didn't want implants all that much, but he said I'd have no breast tissue left after the lift. I went with conservative, low-profile implants but they kept trying to talk me into big, honking hooters. I was definitely not interested. He never addressed the "side boob" skin, either, after telling me that would be part of it. For years I've had stitches poking through, which hasn't been fun, either. The brachioplasty, arm lift & implants were $7,300, anesthesia was another 500. Didn't include the stay. The lower abdominoplasty and thigh lipo was $7,500, anesthesia was 600, and this didn't include the stay. I still have copies of all the emails with the bills. When I complained about the arms and contributed to plastic surgery review threads on Obesity Help's boards and on Plastic Surgery Journeys, a couple of trolls attacked me about it. Always look for pictures and do a thorough search on those sites if you're interested in reviews. There's another doctor in Monterrey who does reconstruction after massive weight loss, and he's done phenomenal work. I wish I had gone to him. Giving two stars because I'm still happy with my tummy tuck 11 years later, but the arm absolutely suck. I put up pictures but not of the boobs, don't want to get in trouble, haha. read more

Dr Castaneda performed the bra line back lift and I have a hideous and disfiguring scar that prevents me from wearing a swimsuit-which is why I wanted a bra line back lift to begin with! I would recommend going to a surgeon who does not leave these horrible train track suture scars but instead takes his/her time to suture with minimal scarring. I look like Frankenstein. I recently celebrated my 60th birthday and decided that it was time to address some of the signs of aging! I started researching Plastic Surgeons in my community and Mexico. During this, I came upon Dr Alexandro Quiroz @ Vida Wellness and Beauty (part of the CosMed group) in Tijuana, MX. I was very impressed with others' reviews, and contacted Vida through their website. I sent in some information as requested, and was soon set up with Dr Quiroz and his assistant for an online face to face meeting to discuss options, ask questions, etc. After this, I gave it some more thought and within a couple of days, contacted them to book my surgery which would consist of a Deep Plane Face Lift (lower face and neck), Brow Lift, Upper Lip Lift, fat transfer to lips, and a Lower (eye) Blepharoplasty. The day prior to my scheduled surgery ( August 10, 2023) I flew from SK, CAN to San Diego, CA. There, I was met by a driver from Vida Wellness, and enjoyed a seamless, comfortable ride to the clinic in Tijuana, MX. The driver was very courteous and friendly. On arrival, the clinic looked just as seen in photos on their website. I met my friendly personal coordinator, Briana N., and we soon set about getting all of my lab/ bloodwork completed. Afterwards, I was transported to a local (pre booked) Marriot hotel for the night. In the morning, I was transported back to the clinic for my surgery. I woke in the recovery, where I was monitored and spent the night. The next day, I was taken over to the onsite Recovery Boutique Hotel where I spent the next 5 days resting. I had a private room with full bath, tv, etc. Meals, snacks and beverages were included. Nursing staff were helpful and friendly, and on shift 24 hours a day for medication administration, dressing changes, wound care, and overall friendly observation. I also had the opportunity to receive a couple of Lymphatic Drainage massages to my face, which felt so nice and can aid with healing and reducing swelling. I also had 2 hair washes which felt wonderful! All of this was offered at the clinic's onsite Spa by a very gentle, caring therapist. Should I decide to have any other procedure, I would not hesitate to return to Vida Wellness & Beauty I also highly recommend them to others. Every one of the staff, from reception, to office staff, to spa thereapist, to nursing and other medical staff, and OF COURSE Dr. Alexandro Quiroz, I found to be very caring, attentive and professional. Just went back for my 2nd Cool Sculpting treatment at Cosmed. Was even better than the first experience. Many of you have reached out to me privately to ask information about my experience. So here you go again, I can honestly recommend Dr. Casteneda and Cosmed without hesitation. It was 16 months ago since my first treatment. I had paid for 2 so I decided might as well use this one! I looked in the mirror prior to heading out and realized after my first treatment I didn't need this that badly but I did still have some fat on my flanks, just in the back of my waist. When I got there early I felt like I was on Rodeo drive in Beverly Hills, everyone is wearing white coats, the place is spotless, and you just get good energy in there. "Hi Mr. Bloom may I offer you water or coffee?" that is how it starts. They take me back to the room to wait for the Dr. to come to assess which he does so he decides what area to treat. He is such a nice person. I thought that would be the last I see him, he is a surgeon. But no, he actually gets the process started and sets everything up and explains everything along with an amazing male nurse Jonathon who was with me the entire time. No remember this is not an expensive surgical procedure but after the way the treat me I would use them for one! They come in and check on me multiple times just like in 2017. Everything goes perfectly, they massage the areas after, and send me on my way. It literally is an amazing experience. I guess I can update in 3 months to let you know the results but I already know I will be with less fat back there, in fact this time it seemed to work better - the way the machine sucks down on your skin to freeze the fat. CoolShaping IS NOT CoolSculpting! First, let me say that I've had CoolSculpting treatments in San Diego and had AMAZING results. I discovered VIDA (also known as CosMed) by doing a quick Google search looking to do CoolSculpting again to get nice and tight for summer. I did some research and VIDA seemed to be legit. I paid about 2k in the states to have my stomach and flanks treated and was quoted $600 ($1400 savings) to have the same treatment done. It sounded too good to be true (and it was) but I figured I would give it a shot, even if CoolShaping provided half the results that CoolSculpting did, I would have been stoked with the results! It has been a full 8 weeks since my treatment and I have seen ZERO results. Nothing, nada, zilch. At this point when I had my CoolSculpting treatment, I was looking SHREDDED and over the moon ecstatic with the results. CoolShaping is a complete SCAM and a complete waste of time and money. I've also tried contacting VIDA to address the issue and they will not get back to me! DO NOT go for the cheaper option and the knock off version of CoolSculpting. Pay the extra money and get it done by the professionals in the U.S. I'm sorely disappointed with my experience at VIDA. On top of that, the staff is not the easiest to get ahold of or communicate with to get an initial appointment or to answer questions. I hope this helps others when making their decision. I had been considering full face plastic surgery for many years but it was not affordable for me being retired many years. while in Southern California, I got to thinking about entertaining the possibility that there may be a possibility of something affordable across the border...in Tiajuana...and there was! Somehow I was clearly directed to one surgeon, Dr Quiros. i attempted to call on their American phone number. Immediately the possibilities began!!! My conversation with Lilian was precise, articulate, and informative, and in English! The process began, and I was encouraged. Photos and a quote were exchanged then a phone conversation with Dr Quito's along with the type of surgery that would benefit me most, long term. I was convinced this had to happen. My request was ASAP! it was 6 weeks out but I asked, if possible, if there was a cancellation, could I take it? I finished my surgery 2 weeks ago taking an open spot. I made it from Colorado within 2 days of that request. Pre-op was an entire day...drawing blood, seeing a Cardiologist, a hydrofacial preparing the skin in theit in-house spa, full conversation with Dr Quiros, a complete explanation of my face, quotes and prices, choices and personal recommendations, preparations, and pictures . I began to understand the professionalism of the people that were going to surround me in treatment and care from the time I walked into this 4.8 facility...! Nothing less from beginning to end. I credit those in the first front lines on the phone, the servers in the overnight stay for five nights, Immmaculate clinic on all 4 floors! Surgery rooms, professional Spa, staff, nurses, aftercare, those cooking specific ( I am vegan) and all meals, nurses (at least 10 minimum), other doctors, transport vans to the facility and from the airport and parking lots, wound healing, blood pressure checks 2x's a day, checking drains, stitches removed,, multiple doctor visits, security ALL in one environment on 4 FLOORS. Thank you very much... It is now 2 weeks and my face is transformed! Surgery: Deep planing Facelift, forehead , upper bioplasty, face and neck neck! Healing every day! BETTER THAN EXCELLENT. He called me personally for initial consultation. I stayed in recovery boutique that's in the same building of the surgery room and his office. Dr. Quiroz was checking up on me every day. Dr. Sanchez is a family doctor and he is also checking me up everyday making sure everything is okay. Everything is so convenient, driver picked me up from SAN Diego airport and drop off me back to the airport. The problems I have here by far haven't been with the doctors but the coordinators. Last year I had a bbl with dr Quiroz, I got realistic results my butt doesn't look exactly how I pictured it but it's a lil better & I do have more curves. I have a rhinoplasty with doctor Fuentes next week so I will update on that once time has gone by. The coordinators seem to be disorganized. They also don't seem to care very much since when I am able to get them on the phone sounds like their in a rush to end the phone call. They also take forever to respond back to my emails. I had been trying to book with Fuentes since may with sending Emails/ phone calls. The only person who would get back to me is the person who controls their Ig. I still haven't heard from Fuentes coordinator and my surgery is in a couple days. I feel that is very unprofessional and they should be checking in on all their patients inquires and concerns. The coordinator I had last year was Denise (apparently she doesn't work there anymore) and this year I have Ivan. It was Denise however that suggested I go to Fuentes for rhinoplasty since she herself had her nose done with him. I think that made me feel more comfortable knowing she trusted him and it did look good. The pricing seems average, I am concerned of the reviews on here. I could've gone somewhere else that's cheaper like Baltic but When I choose this clinic last year I couldn't find any bad reviews anywhere about Cosmed so that did influence my decision... I felt very trusting of this place but like I said I will update. Fuentes seems to be a specialist in rhinoplasty. From my experience the clinic was very nice and clean. What was supposed to be a 5 hour surgery was 15 hours of butchering. I woke up at 11 pm so weak I couldn't stand without fainting for 2 days. They then admitted I'd almost bled to death and charged extra for blood transfusions. I'm left with a bottomed out breast, and asymmetrical scars with big lumps all over my lower body. Dr. Quiroz refuses to take my calls, let alone revise my botched surgery. It's been a year and I still can't bend over without pain. I'm not the only one. This guy should be banned from performing any type of surgeries. I got my rhinoplasty done around June 2020. I waited well over a year to be fair and allow for swelling to go down. The day after surgery I immediately noticed how uneven my nostrils were. I brought it to his attention and he brushed it off saying it was due to swelling. When I met with him for the cast removal I brought it up again and he said he would charge me $100 MORE to make the good nostril like like the bad one. Not once did he apologize or own up to his mistakes. My tip was lifted although we agreed he would not lift my tip, my bridge has a weird indentation, scars are extremely noticeable and ugly due to his sloppy stitches, nostrils are extremely uneven and shaped differently. I also suffer from breathing problems which is due to a deviated septum that I DID NOT have before surgery. This "surgeon" lacks so much empathy, professionalism, and talent. I now suffer from depression and he also refused to send me MY pictures. He obviously doesn't want to get sued. There was another review I read about him causing nerve damage to someone else. Please be very careful and do lots of research. There is a reason why he does not post good pictures of his work. I also remember waking up on the surgery table and being extremely scared. First time going under anesthesia so not sure if that's normal. Definitely going to look into a lawyer very soon. read more

Be very careful to be fool with this place!!! from Outside looks good but the Drs. are performing horrible surgeries and damaging all patients faces! They need to be upgraded with their old styles! Dr. Alejandro Quiroz claims to be 37 years experience surgeon but he performs very aggressive and old style surgeries!!! Had mini facelift and brow lift, for more than seven months I was with my mouth on the side, a nerve got damage, every time I went to see him he had the excuse that every patient heel different, serious ? all this time I had to be embarrassed, hiding and not seen people, so depressing!!! very traumatic and terrible experience !!! It's been almost a year since the surgery , luckily my mouth got little better! but my forehead, still very itchy and painful , seems like he damage my nerves and left me a bump on the side, the scarring is horrible, he cut me from side to side , during my consultation he make me feel very comfortable and told me he will cut little bit in each side and I I'll look very good, I completely regret to come to this place!!! After the surgery I stood at the "boutique " the nurses were nice and did their best (They need the job) but Dr. Quiroz was very unprofessional and never show up or at least call, until I had my appointment a week after to remove the stitches which were bad quality and very painful.
