Dr Bradshaw is great but I had a very negative experience on the phone with his secretary. I was asking about a specific medication and she kept referring to another medication I was also prescribed. I wanted to be clear on what we were talking about so I kept telling her that I was trying to be clear. I guess I "almost made her cry" ?? HAHAHA. That's a new one on me. From the other side of the phone, trying to be clear on medication and she was almost crying? I should have been the one crying. I guess she went crying to the doctor who came on the phone, told me she almost cried. She is supposed to be a professional? What a pathetic individual and she clearly should find another field to work in. Medicine is nothing to be cavalier about and that she was offended that I was trying to be clear and not use the wrong medication is wildly absurd. read more

They want detail about my experience as a customer? Buckle up! First appointment was horrible. Doctor and some MA came in. No bedside manner. When I had to reveal parts of my body to show inflammation, that's when the MA looked up and at my body (completely unprofessional), given the doctor tells them exactly what part of the body for them to document, which is their only job. Them looking, is not necessary at all. Oh man if I had my husband with me, they definitely wouldn't look up from their notes. They're MA's for crying out loud. They just document what MD says. Also, per any operating business, they prescribe medication, bc medication causes side effects that lead to more appointments and more money. Next appointment I see another doctor who must have mistaken me for another patient, bc I've never seen her in my life. & what do you know, she gives samples of topical steroids. And prescribes more unnecessary ointments that CONTRADICT each other and are not to be used at the same time. Did the MD bother to check? Nope. Oh and their "contracts" that you sign in the beginning does not specify any charge of messaging/emailing the doctor. Cuz guess what? Those emails are the same price as an appointment and they do not tell you, they bill you. And harass you every single day. The same Karen they refuse to fire in all the one star comments below. If they removed my original review, imagine how much time they have in their hands to literally go through these yelp comments and request that it be removed!!!! Pathetic!!!!!!! I stand by my original review. Report them to your insurance. And when the time comes that this practice does this to THE one, don't forget to add us to the class action lawsuit. Not just for medical malpractice and negligence, but also civil lawsuit for FRAUD! Dermatology clinics can charge patients for email consultations, but they are legally required to inform patients beforehand about potential charges!!! If Yelp is as honest as they can be, they won't let businesses like this one flag and remove negative reviews that can literally save a patient who needs to find a real dermatology clinic and see real reviews. Not filtered ones. For the patients suffering with skin conditions, please do yourself a favor, do not go here. "Quick fixes" are temporary, it comes back & worse than before. Steroid ointments aren't it!!!!!! Please go to a reputable practice with doctors that don't just give you prescriptions within 3 min of your appointment. read more

Role model for how doctor offices should be. Professional, competent & personable doctors with pleasant and helpful staff. The seating area is comfy clean and modern. The check in was fast and easy. The doctor and assistant also did not make me wait until xmas. Soon as I was led into a room the doctor walked in shortly after. They've got a good thing going. It's beyond comforting to meet a physician that prioritizes patient care. After a very long, stressful journey, to find dermatological care for my daughter, we met with Dr. Chen and he is top notch. He is attentive, listened to the concerns and goals of and created a treatment plan that met her seemingly insurmountable obstacles. I'm really disappointed in this practice. My family, including my parents and children, have been patients of Dr. Chen and Dr. Bradshaw for years and years. As of this year, they decided to stop taking our executive-level insurance. We knew that to continue seeing our providers we'd have to pay out of pocket, and until today this was likely to be our plan. Instead, I've been informed that all continuing service (prescription medication refills) until we'd have been due for our next appointment has ended. We'd now have to be seen immediately if we want to continue receiving those medications, though we were told our follow up wouldn't take place until 6 months and today is just 4 months. Even when I was treated by Dr. Chen for skin cancer, I wasn't seen more frequently than 6 months, so unfortunately it appears this is just an excuse to get rid of patients who would've otherwise paid cash. Like I said, we've seen these doctors for decades, but the receptionist recommended we find someone else. Luckily, we have no shortage of excellent dermatologists in San Diego, including others who perform Mohs surgery. read more

For a long time, I had been looking for a dermatologist to remove two moles I had on my face. I came across Insight Dermatology through Yelp. It was really easy to call and schedule and appointment. I met with Dr. Ahluwalia who explained to me what the procedure would be like and also things to consider like scarring and the healing process. There was a moment where I had doubts about it because of the fear of having two very noticeable scars on my face. But I really appreciated how Dr. Ahluwalia gave me time to think about it before moving forward with the procedure. I decided to do it, and I am still very happy I did! I made sure to follow the after-care instructions the doctor gave me. I am very happy with the results and genuine care of the doctors. I have attached a picture of the results. If I could give Dr Chen and his staff 100 stars, I would! I've been a patient of Dr Chen's for several years now. I see him for all my different forms of psoriasis. Dr Chen's genuine kindness, patience, and true caring never waivers. I always know that I am in excellent hands when I am under his care. He stays up to date on new research and new medications, so that he can make sure that I am getting the best treatment possible. I have been going here for years and spent thousands on skincare both cosmetic and insurance related. I recently called for an appointment and was essentially told "we do not want to serve you anymore due to your insurance". My insurance company verified they are a contracted provider but the office administrator was rude and adamant that they prefer to only schedule appointments for patient's with other " preferred" insurance companies. This practice should be investigated for denying patients care!!! Horrible treatment. Great doctors but you should FIRE your front office staff for treating customers this way!! read more

I don't remember the name of the doctor (I was just referred to the office), but he seemed totally inattentive and dismissive during examination. I switched insurance while having chronic lichen simplex being looked and gave me an attitude of "well what do you want me to do about it?". Additionally, his version of mole checking is to clearly look in another direction while shining 3 photons of light onto it. I have no idea how you can determine whether one is translucent or not without actually looking at it, and when asked how he was making those determinations, I simply got an eye roll. read more

This may be because of the dermatologist that I saw rather than the practice itself. My original appointment was with Dr chen who had great reviews. I was rescheduled with Dr de La Rosa. I was there for a skin review. She did a very cursory look and literally lifted my arm, turned it over and said everything looks good. She barely looked at my skin. Certainly not with any special light or special glasses. There's no way I will go back. I have gone onto another dermatologist who I feel is great. read more

Having a history of melanoma (as well as a family history), I wanted a "real" dermatologist as opposed to somebody who specialized in cosmetics. A friend referred me to Insight Dermatology several years ago and, specifically, to Dr. Bradshaw. I don't think I've ever been to a better organized, more professionally-run office than Insight nor have I seen a dermatologist as prompt, sincere, and authentic as Dr. Bradshaw. This office is out of the way for me (I live in central San Diego), but the drive is 100% worth it for the quality of care that I receive and for Dr. Bradshaw's bedside manner. I called months ago for an appointment expecting to wait a few months for an appointment. Eight or so weeks after I made the appointment I was called by the doctor to let me know she was leaving the practice. A little disappointing because it had already been a couple months, but no problem, I was glad to be notified and understood. The voicemail said to call and schedule an appointment which I have, twice. No answer, no call back. I've lost now another couple of weeks trying to get in touch. Front desk check in and check out is always a breeze. I was referred last year by my PCP to Dr Chen, but he didn't have anything available soon enough for my issue, so I was assigned to Dr A. She's the best! She saw me for a weird bump on my finger and determined that it wasn't a skin issue and referred me to an awesome hand surgeon. I've since returned to see Dr A for some cosmetic procedures, like Fraxel laser skin resurfacing and IPL. She's so thorough and professional and puts you at ease. She explains everything and I've never felt pressured or like she was upselling me, in fact she usually errs on the side of "less is more", always aiming for the most natural looking result. At 72 years old I have seen my fair share of by the book fake empathetic physicians. Dr Ahlluwalia is definitely NOT in that category. First visit she made me feel completely at ease and dutifully examined each of my many moles to determine my risks. We settled on a treatment plan for those that were specially bothersome; stomach, chest, groin and got the necessary approvals. 2nd visit with my anxiety somewhat peaking she was gentle, soft spoken, honest about what I would experience and laid all of those concerns to rest. Then amazingly she did a virtually painless removal of each with a minimal amount of sedative. During the follow up in six months I will have lost all apprehension and eagerly look forward to seeing her again. read more

I saw Dr. Chen last year because I had a cyst behind my earlobe. He was very nice and made me feel comfortable with the removal. He did such a great job removing the cyst that I did not feel a thing and it healed 100% with no scaring. If I ever get another cyst, I will be sure to go back to him. The front office staff was efficient and friendly and I was able to get in before my actual appointment time because I showed up early. Dr. A. was wonderful! I came as a referral to get a second opinion on some small growths on my hands as well as have an odd very itchy rash that I have on my forearm looked at. Dr. de la Rosa was very thorough although I knew she had another patient waiting. She diagnosed the itchy rash on my arm and I now have hope that I will be able get rid of it by being sure my arm is no longer exposed to sun.
