I am 16 months post op and feel as though I was disfigured. I am traumatized by this experience that I was so hopeful for. I am now looking at other places to attempt to fix what is possible, by noninvasive routes. The staff were so nice to me and my surgeon Dr Meyers was super nice albeit maybe inexperienced. My surgery did not go well, part of my procedures was literally just forgotten to be done, my follow up was insufficient, the scarring was terrible and I am in worse condition now than before surgery. It was offered to me to have follow-up surgery to correct a few things and do what was forgotten, at a "discounted" price and I felt like that was even being pushed on me but I was not willing to have anything further surgically done. I had already spent $25,250 to be disfigured. Also, my husband was left in the waiting room with no information or calls for almost 4 hours after my 5 hour surgery, even after the front staff had left for the day and he had to go look for someone to ask what was going on. Went in for a breast lift and came out with extra side skin that drags down underneath my armpit. Dr. Nuveen has a big ego and thinks his work is great, but I am still trying to find another doctor to fix what he did. The staff is good. The doctor I had my consult with, Dr. Caplin, was scheduled to do the surgery, but unexpectedly had to go out of town. She turned me over to him. During my follow-up visits, I explained my concerns and he told me what great work he did and how wonderful it looked. He consistently told me to give it time. Months later-same thing. Year later- same thing. No change and the sagging skin is still there. Other doctors I have consulted have said they suggest I get "the previous doctor" to fix it. Traumatizing! My experience with Dr Nuveen has been traumatic. My results are devastating, he and his "surgical staff" destroyed my body. I am far too trusting and allowed Dr Nuveen to preform multiple revisions surgeries to correct the damage he and his staff caused, but my body is permanently disfigured. No amount of revision surgery can restore my abdomen to pre operative condition. To add insult to the injury, I've had to pay for these revision surgeries at a "discounted price". My initial surgery was 7k. I have now paid over 30k in revisions, only to have my body destroyed! I was so desperate to have it fixed I continued putting my trust into Dr Nuveen. He is a very likable doctor, with excellent bedside manner. But it stops there. My horrific results aren't even the worst part. The negligence of Dr Nuveen and his staff almost cost me my life! Literally. I ended up in the ICU needing a blood transfusion. Which cost me an additional 20k. This has been so traumatic, I don't want anyone else to have to go thru this. Please do your research! He touts being triple board certified, which is very misleading. Bc he is not, nor has he ever been a board certified plastic surgeon. Don't just take my word for it, look it up. If I could leave 0 stars that is what I would do. Dr Erik Nuveen with cosmetic Surgery Affiliates is a [RS bleep] and will take your money and botch you and nobody will help you recover your $200,000 additional in medical expenses after becoming infected with staph and going into toxic shock 10 days post op. I had a lower body lift with muscle repair and lipo on October 31st of 2019. At 4 days post op I became ill with headache nausea and vomiting. I was in tremendous pain and my husband was in contact with Dr Nuveen daily keeping him posted on my condition. That morning my husband texted the Dr pics of my stomach that had a large strange dark area around the incision on the right of my belly button. He informed the Dr of how ill I was and I was told to come in for an appointment the next day. The next morning we went to the office (Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates) in Oklahoma City and I was seen by Dr Nuveen. I was told that I was "fine" and there was no cause for concern and he told his nurse to remove my drain. When his nurse came in the exam room to remove my drain, she saw how much fluid was in it and told me that it was too soon to take it out. She went to tell the Dr it was too son and she returned and said "well he's the Dr and he said to take it out." She removed my drain and they sent me home. This was on Tuesday November 5, 2019. The next few days were a blur and I don't remember them because I was so ill I stayed in my bedroom and was out of it. My husband talked to the Dr everyday and kept him informed of my condition. He assured my husband I was "fine". On Friday November 9th I woke up and told my husband I was running a fever. He notified the Dr and at that time I was finally prescribed 2 antibiotics. The next morning I woke up and told my husband something was really wrong and that I felt weird. He told me to walk to the restroom and when I stood up from my electric recliner I fainted. My husband caught me and lowered me to the floor. When I came to he helped me to the restroom and called Dr Nuveen. Dr Nuveen talked to me in the phone and I told him what happened and how I was feeling. He advised me to go to the urgent care center in our small town that we lived in. I told him I wouldn't and that I was going to the emergency room. At that time my husband drove me the 2 miles to the ER and when we got there my blood pressure was only 60/30. I was in septic shock and it took them a couple of hours to stabilize me enough to get me life flighted to Oklahoma City OU Medical Center. I was told that I was in septic shock due to a strep infection that I acquired during my lower body lift surgery, and that I needed emergency surgery to remove the infected tissue from my abdomen. I was told that I was in critical condition and that it was unknown whether or not I would survive the surgery. By the time I was as stable as they could get me and got me into the OR it was the middle of the night. I woke up in the Intensive Care Unit with a large hole in my abdomen where the infected tissue was removed. I had to have a blood transfusion, several IV's and central lines to maintain my blood pressure and keep me alive. I spent 5 days in ICU and another 10 days on the surgical floor. I had to have an abscess in my abdomen that kept filling with fluid drained twice during that time. My wound had to be cleaned and packed daily. When I finally got out of the hospital on November 25 2019 I was sent home and had to have home health nurses come in daily to do wound care. After about 3 weeks I was put on a wound vac to help my wound heal. I remained on it for 5 weeks. It took about 3 months total for the wound to close and I have been left with horrible scars. Dr Nuveen would not help me with my extra medical bills, or offer any sort of a refund of the $12,600 we paid him. All he would offer me was a scar revision to be done in his office by him. I don't know anyone in their right mind that went through the trauma I endured due to the medical neglect I received from Dr Nuveen, who would let him touch them again. I'm now left with tons of medical bills, permanent scars, and continued pain and suffering. Please save yourself your money and most importantly your life and go to a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. Dr Nuveen told me he was triple board certified. That was a lie. He is a cosmetic surgeon, not a plastic surgeon and he is Board certified in Mylofacial surgery. This whole experience has caused me tremendous, depression, anxiety, and PTSD and the worst part of it all is he is still practicing and hurting patients. read more

April REFUSED to refund my $. There's another review on google w a similar situation.... She got sick and needed to reschedule and they required an additional deposit. I have met my fair share of plastic surgeons, and when I say that none of them compare to Dr. Caplin, I mean it wholeheartedly. She is by far the most considerate, kind, brilliant doctor I've ever met. She goes above and beyond with her patient care and knowledge of procedures. She's a truly WONDERFUL woman and doctor and she literally lights up the room when she enters. I called to receive information about surgery. I got passed around a lot. I was told to submit an online consultation and I did. Before I submitted that, I was told that my consultation information would be made confidential in my medical record. I got a call back from someone that wasn't the surgeon and they told me my expectations can't be met. I asked what expectations could be met if mine were not realistic and she told me to lose weight and find some other surgeon. I asked to speak to a medical professional regarding my expectations and she said they don't have time for me. I told her to delete my medical record and she then told me I didn't have one. I told her that my consultation information I submitted was promised to be part of a confidential medical record and that I had a right to know where my medical information is under HIPAA law. She then said that I did have a medical record and I can't have access to it. Then said I can have a copy. She said "mam ive already talked to you SEVERAL times already" when all I did was call with questions about different procedures and pricing. I did not do anything to these people. I'm confused what in the fuck I did to these assholes to be treated this way I'm so fucking glad I didn't trust these people with my life under surgery. She hung up on me and refused to answer my questions about anything. I don't understand why I can't ask questions about medical procedures but that's extremely alarming. DONT TRUST THESE PEOPLE AT ALL. They don't give a fuck about their clients from my experience. I'm so glad I didn't trust these people. I just got up enough courage to call Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates of Oklahoma to set an appointment for MTF breast augmentation. after I answered a few normal questions, I was told that there would be a $100 charge to a debit or credit card if I didn't show up for the appointment. Dr. Caplin has been out and spoke at a few groups that I have attended and I thought that really meant something. I am not the type to "no show" and the person didn't really SEEM TO CARE WEATHER I DID OR DIDNT MAKE THE APPOINTMENT. Trans folks don't have a ton of money, they have to save or not get it at all. This week I went to Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates for a consultation for breast augmentation and a full body lift.  I had been researching places to go and this was the one I kept going back to after lots of reviews, both online and word of mouth, were very positive! I walked in and was immediately greeted by the receptionist who was very polite and attentive. The waiting area was gorgeous and comforting.  I was taken back to the consult area by Jayme where we had a great conversation about what I had in mind, she was very open and honest with her answers to my questions and made me feel extremely comfortable.  Sonia came in next to measure and take photos, I have had 4 kids and modesty isn't usually an issue, but my poor boobs...She was so sweet, explaining everything she was doing and why. Again, I felt so comfortable.  I rocked that photoshoot! Dr. Nuveen stopped in next and explained some more things about the procedures I was wanting and gave some advice on what he felt would be best, I loved that.  There's that comfortable thing again, I felt it. next up, Dr. Caplin!  It's like a literal ray of sunshine came in. She is the kindest person I think I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She knew exactly what I wanted and assured me it would all be great!  She told me a few fun facts about the facility and told me about her pups Max & Ruby who come to the office. How can I not choose this place for my procedures?  My deposit for the surgery date was paid today and in a little more than a month I'll be doing the very first thing for me and I am more than pleased with my decision to use Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates. Don't go there! I saw Dr. Nuveen 3 years ago for a double eyelid surgery and to this day I have scars and unevenness on my eyes. He took away more fat than I thought he would, the guy has no idea what's he doing and that's why it's so cheap. After all these years I still live with regret. Dr. Nuveen performed a full tummy tuck and breast lift and implants on my about 10 years ago. I paid for the private surgery room and nurse care. I was put in a storage room with a bed and a tv. My friend stayed with me and tried to make this as comfortable as possible. I got very sick from the meds and no one in sight was in the building. My friend roamed through looking for this "all night nurse" there wasn't one. Neither my friend nor myself had ever had plastic surgery and had no idea what to do. This was a major surgery. He left dog ears on my hips. I went back to have my hips fixed with minor lipo, trust me I did not stay the night. He was in a hurry to get to some date on a helicopter.... a few weeks later I got necrosis in 3 areas of my tummy and called many times to have a staff member tell me the black decay was normal and to wait til my next post OP appt. When I went I couldn't stand straight as he had removed too much skin and it took a year for the skin to stretch out enough to walk via my vaginal area (horrible stretch mark's between my legs) I now have a huge tattoo across my stomach and hips to hide the scars. I looked like Frankenstein. My tummy tuck is still lopsided with a pocket of extra skin on one side. I had had enough of it. I cut my losses and moved on. Never had anymore contact from them. This was my second time to Dr Nuveen because he is a great surgeon and I would continue to come back time and time again(actually my sister in law) had her mommy makeover with him too, but this was the first time he didn't listen to what his patient wanted. I specifically asked in front of him, another doctor, a nurse, and my mother...I ONLY want 25 to MAX50ml out and that I still wanted to be a D cup just not a DDD. He took out over 100ml in each side and I hate them and its not what I paid for. I feel like my breasts are tiny now maybe a c cup if even that. That's the worst part...I pain a lot of money for multiple procedures and its hard to be happy or have a positive attitude when my breasts are so small now!! Now how do I go about getting this fixed or come up with 8-10 grand to do it. The tummy tuck and the fat injected in my butt ,seem be looking great a week postop. Do not waste your time coming here. This will be an extremely long post but worth reading it. I used to highly recommend this office but it has made so many changes for the worse. I have came to this office 5 times for different surgeries and I have to say they have gone down hill fast since the very first time I came in 2015. My sister and I had surgery in May this year for two different things and both of us had major problems. To start with hers she had breast augmentation and one boob was a completely different cup size than her other. With mine I wanted my butt bigger and went with a Brazilian butt lift and completely regret my decision ever since. After I had surgery in May I had to go to the emergency room for high fever and horrible pain on my right side where my incision was. I called Dr nuveen as soon as I went to the ER and he told me he was in Italy on vacation and clearly didn't care what was going on. I was in the hospital for almost a week because the incision got infected from his office and turned into cellulitis. I completely lost my butt from everything that happened. When I got out of the hospital I called the office upset that no one had called to even check if I was alive or even ok and to their surprise they had no idea I was even in there and told me they completely agreed that Dr Nuveen was in the wrong and should have given me a refund for everything I had to go through and the time I wasted being in the hospital and missing work. Dr Nuveen wanted to see if the cellulitis was going away and check my sister as well so my sister and I drove back to Oklahoma to talk to him. While my sister and I sat in the waiting room waiting over two hours to talk to him a lady over heard us talking about everything he messed up on and came over to tell us that her friend was getting surgery at that moment because she had gotten a mommy make over and they completely messed her up from having multiple doctors work on her. All three of our surgeries they messed up all happened within a few weeks of each other right before they went on vacation. She also informed us that he mailed her friend narcotics to Texas and left them on her door step from her being in pain but had told me with my pain from the cellulitis there was absolutely no way he could send narcotics to a different state even though he lied and already had because he would lose his license. After talking with Dr Nuveen he told me there was no way he would give me a refund and to wait and he would do a revision on my surgery. So here I am now to say he did a revision and things went wrong again. He told me to come into the office to get antibiotics and something to help the pain because I have been in extreme pain and been running a fever ever since the surgery again. I drove to the office yesterday (6 hours) there and (6 hours) back for him to tell me I do not need antibiotics and that I didn't need more pain medicine because I am fine even though it has only been 6 days since surgery. I completely wasted a whole trip driving to Oklahoma for no reason. His nurse Sonya made me feel like I was just some druggy wanting pain medicine when I am far from someone who gets addicted to pills, have never had a drug problem and only take medicine when I am prescribed and when I am in extreme pain and need it when ibuprofen doesn't work. I am here to say I am not fine after seeing a doctor here in Missouri and have another infection caused from Dr Nuveen. I gave him another chance to make things right and he did not and once again I'm missing out on work dealing with extra pain and unhappy with my results having to spend more money to see more doctors. Please save your money and time and find a doctor who really cares about your health and doing things the correct way. read more

Dr. Caplin is really wonderful. My mother saw her at the beginning of 2018 for a lower facelift and the results, follow up and care were awesome. As it probably happens, my mother got the itch again in 2019 to have a breast lift & augmentation - so of course I said I would do it too. Dr. Caplin listened to us and the results are better than we expected. We were seen on the same day and the team at CSA remembered us from the prior year - oh we remember your mom's dancing after surgery. :) Yes, that happened. My mom had no problems after surgery and she looks amazing less than 8 weeks later! I sadly decided to slip about a week after surgery and injured the area that just had surgery but there was an immediate response directly from Dr. Caplin and her team. Absolutely terrible I spent the first time over 17,000.00 for a face lift and my legs. My legs are uneven ( I went back and she was suppose to fix them and still 100% uneven !) I went back a multitude of times and she wud try to sell me sumthg else and bypass my legs. My facelift I look the same not one person notice plus I had to get botox a month later and more and more. They take a picture of u at 5am with no makeup and that what they compare u too!! The worst do not go to them I wish I wud have read the reviews 1st. I went in at least 10times and complained and said I wanted a refund and they jus laughed and try to sell more botox!!! Her excuse for my legs being lopsided is and I quite..."I'm righthanded that's why their uneven". So I've wasted almost 20,000 to look the same!!!
