Our initial contact was over the phone and after that, was a smooth process of organizing dates and a face to face meeting which all went very well. Brea seemed very easy going and comfortable acclimatizing to our home almost immediately. For the duration of our time away, I received numerous updates, videos and photos via text message. I could tell that my kitties were happy as Brea's photos and videos showed them playing with her, being active etc. Although I missed them like crazy, I was not at all worried about them, which made our vacation more enjoyable. Upon arriving home, everything was well taken care of. The litter box was cleaned, their food station was up to par and our mail was even collected for us. Our keys were returned in a very timely manner. Cosmic Home and Pet was affordable and our experience with them was just excellent. Brea watched my little bird while I was out of town for work. I'm a nervous pet parent, and Brea sent me daily updates with videos. It set my mind at ease to know my little guy got some out of cage time while I was away and that he was being well cared for! Sure, cats are pretty low-maintenance, but it's well worth the peace of mind knowing that someone is spending quality time with your cat. And Brea's photo updates are such a treat - she could be a pet photographer, she always manages to get some great photos of our normally shy cat! Tip: try to coordinate at least a few days in advance. So I've been sitting on this review for a long time now, wishing I could find something good to say. But honestly, I wish someone would have been able to warn me as I searched through reviews, so here goes. This review is for Brea from April to June of 2016. We went on our honeymoon through Europe and got Brea to watch our two cats. They're young and neither of them are on medication, nor do they need any special care. Regardless, we labelled everything to make it as easy as possible and left very clear, simple instructions. We met with Brea once before and she wasn't terribly friendly but seemed fine with the cats. We told her about the instructions, showed her where everything was, and so on. And honestly, our apartment is 360sqft; it isn't really possible to lose something in it. We got a security camera that takes videos and pictures. We'd never left our cats before, so we were worried. To say that we were disappointed by what we saw would be an understatement. A poisonous plant that is kept under glass and specific instructions to leave it there, sitting out for days and days even when I asked her to put it away. A chef's knife laying on the counter where the cats sometimes jump, also left for days. The cats dishes being replaced with our good dishes for some reason. Why?? Pills that were in a sealed bottle spilled all over the apartment. A glass house that we've had for years shattered into the rug. By a cat, of course, despite them never giving it a thought before. We saw Brea on more than one occasion just ignoring the cats, scrolling on her phone for the duration of the visit even as the cats cried for attention. She didn't even look at them. She also took the keys that were stated in the instructions not to be taken, and we needed them urgently upon returning. I have all of the photographic and video proof, but when I reached out to Brea afterwards, she denied it all or blamed it on the cats. For her prices and all of the 5 star reviews, this was just sad. It was heartbreaking to see our cats ignored that way. When we got home, one of our cats had a leg injury that required numerous vet visits. He was also so matted that he needed to be completely shaved; this has never happened before or since. We found our instructions completely untouched, right where we left them--and told her we left them. We were incredibly thorough, but the instructions literally were not read even once. Frankly, I have no idea how Brea has gotten so many rave reviews. What we saw really put a bad taste in our mouths, and we started looking for flights early so we could cut our honeymoon short. It was that bad. So yes, I would say be wary of all of the rave reviews, and contact me if you're in doubt about the security cam grabs. read more

My husband and I started using Cosmic Home and Pet about a year and a half ago, and since then have used Brea about five times. We have been so happy with her, so I wanted to leave a review before we move to the Bay Area and are unfortunately no longer able to use her service. Back when Brea first started pet-sitting for us we had two cats (one of whom passed away about a year ago). Both our cats love/loved Brea, and the kitty who is still around is a massive pansy ass who runs at the sight/sound of any one, even someone she's seen a billion times. We generally pay for Brea to visit twice a day, at a rate of 15 or 20 dollars per visit, I can't remember which. Once every day or couple of days we will get a video of her petting our cat, and it makes us very happy to see our baby rolling happily on the floor. Brea was recommended to us by a neighbor that has a skittish dog. Our dog is not super friendly with other dogs and can be slow to warm up to people, but she instantly loved Brea and always looks forward to their time together. It was important to us to have a dog walking service that would be the same person each time. Brea walks our dog when we both have to work similar shifts, and she has been so flexible. Even when we forget to give her reasonable amounts of notice she is always there for us. She tailors the walks to the weather and to my dogs special needs. First off, I must admit, from a pet sitting standpoint that Cosmic is 5 stars. We've had a couple different people from Cosmic watch our dog, and we've always returned home to a happy dog and a house that's usually cleaner than when we left it. However, I've often found them to be a little slow to respond to requests and their availability is pretty limited. This last time, it took Brea 8 days to get back to me that she had no one available for the time we requested, which by then meant that many alternatives were getting booked up in that time as well. Brea was supposed to watch my cat for only four days, but we encountered a family emergency and needed to leave our cat for an unexpected amount of time. Tried this business on a close friend's recommendation, and I'm happy to say the service is just phenomenal. I'm a super neurotic cat lady and I hate leaving my kitties when I go out of town, but Brea's team has taken AMAZING care of my two cats the last two times I've been out of town. This includes daily feedings (which I sometimes adjusted on-the-fly -- my Cosmic sitter Kelly was immediately responsive to emails I sent while out of town) and lots of play and cuddle time. My sitter also provided me with daily phone pics of my cats (again... neurotic cat lady) which was really appreciated! Upon signing up with the service, you're asked to fill out a bunch of forms -- vet's name and info, medication info, location of thermostat(s), extra information about your home, emergency contacts -- which for some reason was super reassuring. I've been through lots of sitters and Cosmic is by and large the most thorough I've ever seen. Given the extremely reasonable price and level of quality care, I don't think I'll ever use a sitting service other than Cosmic again in Seattle, honestly. read more

We *have* to have a dog-friendly person clean our place, since our big dog is nosy and tries his best to help when you're scrubbing the floor, so we were thrilled to find home services and pet services together. I recently moved a cat into my house. Two days later I had to unexpectedly leave town for work. I found Cosmic on the Internet, called, and within a day had handed off my keys. Having never met the owners of Cosmic I was a bit nervous. But, my nervousnous proved to be unfounded. The first time Cosmic stopped by to see the cat they sent a text message with a picture of the cat, looking fat and happy. When I returned home the next weekend the cat had been fed and played with, the litter box emptied, and a note had been left detailing the visit. My cat is awesome. Until we leave him alone for a couple of days. Then he's pissed. Literally. Cat pee in choice locations that specifically say "I can't get love from an automatic feeder." So when we were going to be away for 2 weeks, we had to make sure he had a little TLC on a regular basis. Brea came by every other day, gave him some much-appreciated brushing and petting, and cleaned up the occasional hairball and litter scatter. It was great to come home from a long flight and find a fluffy, happy kitty, a neat pile of mail, living plants (and clean floors). Jaime began walking our dog, Athena, daily about a year ago after we adopted her. Athena is a stubborn, yet lovable pit bull mix that Jaime had more than infinite patience with her. Whether we were working from home or traveling, Jaime took care of our pup as if she was Jaime's own(even when she had family illnesses to deal with, Jaime made sure that Athena's walks were covered). Jaime worked with Athena on her walks and was always open to giving us tips and tricks that she had been teaching her(like how to get Athena to refocus after becoming aggressive with another dog). We were sadden not to keep using Cosmic as we moved further north outside of their service area and is the only reason why we stopped used them. She walked my dog twice a week for several months until I moved away and I was super bummed when I realized they didn't service the new area - it's really tough finding great dog walkers and I had hit the jackpot with Jamie and Cosmic Pets. They were also fantastic when I went away for a week they came and took care of my cat while my dog was being boarded. I'm posting this for two reasons: First, because my work travel is so intense and unpredictable, I've requested to have Jaime, Brea, and Stephan on-call at a moments notice. They have been ridiculously accommodating to my needs and the needs of my 3 year STUBBORN cat, Stubz. Stubz does NOT like many people. That said, I am both amazed and overjoyed by the ways in which they handle Stubz. She loves them, and I wish I could figure out their magic. Second, I'm writing this because I'm appalled at the negative review on this site. Brea, Jaime, and Stephan have sent me pics of Stubz because that was part of my request and written into my contract. It warms my heart to see Stubz so happy, content, and playful with them. I honestly can not say enough positive things about Brea and Cosmic Home and Pet. Having relocated to Seattle from Hawaii in August with two very disgruntled cats to take a job that required a lot of travel, I needed to find that someone special to spend time with and look after them. Of my two cats, one is very outgoing and friendly and the other is incredibly shy and scared around new people - which is such a shame because he is such a lover and loves attention! Cosmic Home and Pet was the third service I tried - the first two didn't meet my hopes in regards to my shy guy. Neither of the first two were able to make a connection or even coax him out, so he went without pets or cuddles during those trips. Then came Brea. Day one she connected with him and had him clamoring for her attention - and I know this because she sent me a video of it. Which is another thing that makes her awesome. I get regular updates from her while I'm away, including pictures and videos, which is so nice. She also brings in packages and looks after things around my place, which is also very reassuring when I am traveling. I can't believe almost four years has passed since I wrote my first review for Brea at Cosmic Home and Pet. Brea is such an integral part of my dog's life now we don't book vacations or time away unless we have first checked that she is available. I'm shocked by a recent negative review because during the 10+ times Brea has stayed with my Shih Tzu, we have never once had any concerns or issues. She has stayed with our dog at least 60 days during these past few years (if not more, I don't keep count) and there is no one else I trust more with my dog. We've used Rover a few times Brea has been booked (a result in her increasingly great business) and we just weren't as happy, Brea is always our #1 choice. Brea's rates are absolutely reasonable, especially when compared to other sitters on Rover or dog kennels in the area. When we're gone Brea sends us updates and photos/videos and is very responsive to our texts. If a question comes up, she's available. She snuggles and plays with our pooch during her visits (the videos she sends of this always make me smile), brushes her, and puts my Shih Tzu's hair in a pony tail almost every day. Does she watch TV during this time? Sure! Because to imagine she would spend every waking minute entertaining our dog is silly....when I'm home I don't even do that. Brea even knows our dog's favorite toys' names -- she is that attentive (shout out to Froggie!). In my first review I mention having two dogs. One of our pooches was special needs and required a very strict diet and medicine routine. Brea was the only person I trusted to keep this straight, and she always made sure my special girl was well taken care of. When our pooch passed away, she was just as upset as we were. She genuinely loves your animals like her own. But most importantly to all of these comments -- my dog loves her. LOVES HER. When we tell her Brea is coming to visit she gets excited. When Brea comes in the house our pooch can't settle down. :) For a moody Shih Tzu, that's the best compliment one can get. There is a reason Brea has so many 5-star reviews, because she is that awesome. I love that she has gotten more popular since we first used her in 2013 because that's ultimately great for her and her business. I highly, highly, highly recommend cosmic PetnHome. Brea has been my dog walker for several years now, and my dog just adores her. I adore her too!! She is amazing, truly. Life before Brea was not so good: my dog is a rescue who used to be afraid of other humans, all other animals, and sometimes parked cars. Since Brea came into our lives, he started improving; I did not know that hiring a dog walker would end up being the exact therapy that he needed! She has loved and nurtured him, and he is thriving as a result. THRIVING with a really happy energy.
