Strut the Pup walked my yellow lab, Charlie, for over five years, and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about their one-on-one dog walking. Einat, the owner, is very responsive and clearly cares about both her customers and her employees--and it shows in the quality of their service. Charlie typically had the same walkers at the same time each week. They were all professional, caring, attentive, and TRUE dog lovers! I loved Strut the Pup's daily walk reports and photos, which gave me peace of mind knowing he was being well taken care of while I was at work. On a few occasions when I was working from home, I watched as his regular walker arrived--Charlie would be waiting at the window and greeted them with full-body wags every time. When Charlie's hips started bothering him as he got older, the team helped me adjust his walks so he could continue enjoying his outdoor adventures. Sadly, Charlie has since passed, but I've saved many of the walk-report photos his walkers took (like this one), and they remain some of my favorite pictures of him. It's been over a year and half now since we moved to Seattle. Moving here was stressful because that meant we had to find all our trusted services for our pets all over again. Our dogs are our life as I'm sure are the pets belonging to all the people looking for a dog walker. As such, you're probably grooming through all the various companies here trying to find a company who will love animals the way you do and will be dependable in moments when you can't be there for them. Well, look no further. Strut The Pup has risen to the occasion for us time and time again. I don't know how they do it with the constant cycling of the pandemic and the, I'm sure, overwhelming need by Seattle folk for dog walkers. Despite it all, they run a successful business. We have 2 golden retrievers who, in age, are older but in energy level are puppies. We love them as our children. When we first met Einat's team, we knew we had found the right company. They had excellent communication. They were clear with the services they offered. They were flexible with our needs and of course, they have excellent AND experienced walkers working for them. During our time in Seattle, we have worked with different walkers with the company but Dana has been our main person. You can tell just from how she greets the dogs at the door that she is truly a dog person through and through. Our dogs, in turn, run and jump from wherever they are in the house when they hear her car pull up. She's always on time and whenever there may be a concern about the dogs, I get instant messaging from the team. After every walk, I get a picture of the dogs and a daily report. More recently, one of our dogs had a terminal diagnosis and had to undergo significant treatment. Einat and Dana have been SO great constantly inquiring on how she was doing and how they could support our needs. I really appreciated that because it reflected how much they cared. Over our vacation, we were able to have someone come by and check in on the house when no one else we knew could drop by. Again, much appreciated and was evidence that they go above and beyond to support their clients. Nowadays, we stress about so many things in our lives, but it's nice to know that we don't have to stress about our dogs boredom at home and safety when they are out on a walk. This is not a review of their service but rather their lack of service. We had been looking for a local company to take care of our pup for quite a while. After lots of research, it seemed like Strut the Pup was the winner. Their website states "What areas do we serve? We are all over the Puget Sound...or at least we try to be. If you happen to be in an area that we do not currently serve, we will do everything we can to help you. Look at it this way, you could be the first customer in that particular area...a trendsetter!" I get it, they can't be everywhere in the Puget Sound. Well we're in Seattle, only 15 mins from downtown, and were told they don't serve our area. There was no "we will do everything we can to help you," just a "sorry, no." From the reviews, they sound like a wonderful company, they just need to make it clear what areas they serve. read more

I would love to give a glowing review because the kindness and attitude of the people working here are great. However, if my dog isn't safe, that's a dealbreaker - totally unacceptable. Knowing that my dog is transported in Strut The Pup vans, I am always excited to see them on the road. I was just heartbroken to personally observe a Strut The Pup employee breaking the law and putting dogs at risk by wearing out a mobile phone while driving. This was no 3-second glance or getting directions, this was a full minute at a stoplight with constant double-thumb-taps and then continuing while driving once the light turned green and the driver took off next to me. It's so sad to see screen addiction undermine the promises that businesses make - this one, on the Strut The Pup web site, says that "the vans provide a comfortable and safe environment" which is not possible when driving is secondary to using a hand-held screen. Perhaps the company needs to advertise that their drivers don't use devices while driving and then keep that promise. read more

I can't say enough how much I love Strut the Pup. Every walker I've had through them is a rockstar. My regular walker, Chuck, is the kindest guy and you'll never meet someone who loves dogs more. My dog is a sassy one, and she's particular about who she trusts. But she loves Chuck, almost more than me. To boot, Einat, the founder and owner, is also phenomenal. She lives for animals and it's obvious in the way she runs her company. I chose STP because they treat their employees like employees, not disposable contract labor. The walkers get a living wage and benefits, and I know they're taken good care of. STP might be more expensive than Rover, but you get much more than you pay for. During the intense and uncertain coronavirus pandemic, Einat pulled out all the stops to take care of her staff and clients-- she kept her staff on, particularly if they're unable to work. She even decided to pay it forward and take care of the community by comping service for first responders, medical staff, and those who have lost their jobs from the pandemic. I put off writing this review for too long. They deserve as many stars as I can award them. read more

The Strut the Pup team has been a lifesaver for us on numerous occasions. Whether it's been an extended stay for a planned vacation, a last minute work trip, or a flight cancellation that left us stranded, the STP family has always been helpful and taken amazing care of our 60lb fur baby and our home. Our home is always well cared for, with the kitchen and bathrooms left spotless and all poop picked up in the yard. Our girl, who is extremely shy and anxious, loves having them stay over so she doesn't have to leave her comfort zone. They've been patient with her and taken the time to know her (i.e. letting her come to them at her own pace), and she is much less stressed when we return than if we had sent her to a doggie hotel. At this point, we would never go back to any other accommodation when we aren't able to bring her on our adventures. When it comes to our girl, we only trust STP. read more

Everyone I talked to at Strut the Pup was very helpful, and I especially want to call out Dana! Dana took care of my dog when I started a new job that required I be away from home for much longer than my dog was used to. I can't say enough good things about Dana! My dog was large, enthusiastic, and had some health problems, so she could be a handful. Dana showed up to check in on, walk, and play with her every day - rain or shine (I think there were even some snow days!). Her updates were wonderful and I always looked forward to showing her photos to my coworkers each afternoon. It was such a relief to know that my dog wasn't alone the entire day, and my dog was thrilled every time her best friend Dana came to visit. :) read more

Anyone who gives these guys one star because they didn't return your phone call immediately isn't doing a valid review. (Seriously, MQ? Seriously? This is why you rate them a one-star?) We learned the hard way what to ask when looking for a dogwalking service. 1. Find out how many people work for the service, and what the ratio of walkers to clients there are. If there's just one of them, how do they handle emergencies and overflows? 2. What do they do when hiring new employees? Do they put them in the field and let them go? Do they walk the dogs? Run them? Stand outside and just let the dog go to the bathroom? 3. Do they listen to you and your needs? Do they pay attention? Do they trot out a resume of experience regarding your dog's behavior patterns or do they listen to your input? 4. How do they take payment? Is it via check or do they have professional automatic billing services lined up? Do they have insurance? I failed to ask these questions of our previous service. With our previous service, a webcam in the house showed four different days when the walker spent five minutes "walking" the dog outside and twenty minutes "playing" - which mostly involved her writing a note and texting on her phone. The breaking point was when we came home one day and found our poor puppy covered in his own poop - she had fed him cheese against our wishes and left him alone for six hours after being told we'd be coming home later. To say I was beyond furious isn't putting it mildly. It should go without saying that the service was terminated, and thus did we begin a search for a NEW dogwalking service. We found Strut the Pup. Strut the Pup has been everything our previous "dogwalkers" were not. Professional. Dependable. Insured. Actual walkers of dogs. They know dogs, and they know how to listen to the needs and wants of their two legged clients as well as their four-legged ones. Meaghan and her crew are professional, polite, and courteous to both the two-legs and the four-legs. Our current "walker" takes our massive puppy out for as fast a jaunt as he'll go in the thirty minutes they have together. We come home and our mastiff is completely pooped out. The notes left are always detailed and friendly; we've NEVER had a late appointment, when we're working from home they come in, towel off our dog, and cheerfully put him to bed. We took the webcam down - there's no need for it anymore. Since we've worked with Strut the Pup, our boy has never had a pee accident. He's paying attention to our commands. They give him the treats he's allowed to have. He shows active joy and waits by the front door on the weekends waiting for his walking buddy to show up (to his profound disappointment). He is passed out when we get home. He actively engages with people. He listens to commands. They have dogpark excursions which our boy, still a stone doofus by all accounts, cannot attend due to the fact he loses all four braincells around other dogs and won't come when his name's called, and in one instance when an overzealous pet parent may have clipped one nail a little close, even made a run to the pet store to get the styptic powder to staunch a nail that cracked open again on the afternoon run. They go the extra mile - and if you don't get a call back immediately, it's probably because they're actually OUT on that extra mile with a dog. Aside from all of that, though, is the simple fact that Strut the Pup has their staff and their dogs sorted. They train new hires for WEEKS before sending them out solo. They understand dogs and canine mentality. Most of all they're active and fit walkers who don't view a dogwalk as a slow leisurely amble in the park, but the opportunity for a dog to be an active critter during the day. In short, Strut the Pup does what a dogwalking service is SUPPOSED to do - they exercise the dogs in a timely manner, with professionalism. They are business professionals with standards, and they're fantastic. *And they're certainly worth waiting to get back to you without getting your nose out of joint. read more

To be totally transparent - I have not used Strut's services. I was dying to because an acquaintance recommended them and we have a similar pups, so it sounded perfect. However, I have been trying to contact them for the past 5 days, I left a voicemail (their message said someone would get back to me in 24 hours), I called about 6 times after that, I sent an email 2 days ago. Update! I adopted another pupster late 2012 and Meaghan and the team made the transition easy. I've since been on a few overnite trips and had help from the Sarge for my training with these furry hooligans. Let me be clear...I'm a high-maintenance client. My dog sneezes and I text Meaghan and STP to ensure they are aware and make sure the pupsters are fine. Someone wrote about response time, communication, and follow-up. I've never had any issues. Period. Prompt responses via text, email, and phone. As STP's vmail says, "we are out with the pack." As a high-maintenance client, that's where I want the focus, my dogs. read more

Meaghan and her staff are AH-MAH-ZING!!!! Seriously, the best at what they do. This isn't some cobbed together, I walk dogs in my spare time kind of business. She is serious and passionate about what she does and it shows...from her branding to her demeanor to her passion for animals, Strut the Pup is the shit! We were looking to be able to call upon someone when we were in a pinch...mostly day ski trips when Sadie's daycare would open/close at hours that wouldn't be convenient for us...enter Strut the Pup. It wasn't an issue that we wouldn't be a "regular" weekly client, they were more than willing to accommodate our once in a while, we are going to Crystal on Saturday requests. I work from home and also use the Barking Lounge for daycare (which Strut the Pup is now also starting a walking/dog park venture with I believe) so I don't have a need for regular weekly dog walking services, but if I did, my money would be spent with Strut the Pup. Professional, passionate and pupalicious!!! A big paws up from us!! The report cards are super cute and Meaghan is a great communicator and very responsive and reliable (we even got a text message today while skiing/snowboarding about Sadie). Meaghan and her husband came over to meet Sadie before her first walk and it was love at first sight (and it wasn't even because of the organic treats that they brought). Great service and very responsive! We are regulars at several off-leash dog parks in the area, so we have seen what some of the dog walkers are like when owners aren't around. It was horrifying. Yelling, swearing at the dogs, calling them stupid. I was resigned that I would never hire a dog walker. Our three greyhounds LOVE IT when Meaghan comes over for a visit! We've used STP for many months now (both in-home visits during the way and overnight stays when we are out of town) and honestly, we are absolutely comfortable with Meaghan's top-notch service and genuine love for our pack. When we first realized we needed to find someone to come in during the day to let the pups out for a potty-break, we were very skittish about hiring an "outsider" (basically anyone not a family member or friend). We interviewed several dog-walking/pet-sitting services and after interviewing Meaghan and Tom, we knew we had found the right folks for our pups. We have used Strut for about 2 years now and they have been nothing short of really fantastic. They went above and beyond expectations in taking care of our senior 12+ year old boxer, who passed away a few months ago. We used them primarily for overnight care in our home once our boxer was no longer able to go to a kennel (she was a rescue and didn't get along with other dogs and so daycare options were out of the question). They were so responsive to her needs, even until the very, very end. What's most important to you when choosing a pet care service? My priorities are my dog's safety, my home's security, dependability, my dog's affinity for the care providers, ease of scheduling, and the care providers' responsiveness. Though it's a tall order, Strut the Pup's dog walking service has fulfilled all of those requirements for both my current dog, rescue maybe-hound Annie, and past dog, Corgi Edith. Strut the Pup walkers have walked Annie both when I've known I'll be home late and she needs a break in the day, and like now, when I'm on crutches and not able to give her a decent walk. Having been home when a walker has arrived, I know that Annie absolutely adores her StP friends and can barely contain herself to get leashed up. StP always provides a 'visit report', giving all of the details of the walk, or in Edith's case, potty break and belly rubs. When Edith was aging and having kidney disease symptoms, StP visit reports were very helpful to map her day to day activity levels. They can provide Canine Behavior services managed by Canine Behavior Practitioner, Diane Kunas and she is amaziiiing!! The amount of time, care and solid advice she has given to us has helped immensely with our rescue dog, Max whom we recently adopted and has had issues around certain men, environments, etc. Also, a few days after our appt. Diane gave us a detailed bound notebook written specifically about Max regarding his various triggers, things to look for as he evolves in his new home and useful tools to create positive behavior. There are also specifics about his mixed breed personality traits, activity needs and overall tons of great information we can refer to that actually work. Strut the Pup is the absolute best. We got our rescue dog Tucker almost a year ago and they have been walking him ever since. They take him for a 30 min walk each weekday, and we always get a short description of his walk and adorable picture to go along with it (the best part of my workday!). They have even helped us reinforce some training things we have been working on, and always let us know how he has been doing. He loves his walker, and it gives us piece of mind to know that he looks forward to that part of his day! They even went the extra mile after he had TPLO surgery. He couldn't get around very well at the beginning, and not only were they willing to carry him/assist him down the stairs into our yard so he could go out every day, but they spent any additional time cuddling with him. They never left before his 30 minutes was up, and made sure he got all the attention he needed. They were a large part of his successful recovery and we can't thank them enough! We have also used them for overnight stays, which have all gone well, even when it was with a new sitter. They always make sure anyone new comes and meets the dog before hand. This team is great! Kristi from STP has been walking our puppy Frankie for about 2 months and Frankie loves her. Kristi goes above and beyond the puppy walks and makes sure Frankie is doing well and learning good habits. She always sends up a great summary of their walks and a pic. The entire Strut the Pup pack is amazing to me and my little Cavalier Spaniel. I fully recommend them to anyone! Strut the Pup has been walking my little girl since ~November 2010 when she was just a few months old. She's grown up with them. You start off your service by talking to the owner about what you want. Meaghan was great - she came to my house and met my little dog and talked to me about how she chooses walkers. I was pretty concerned about strangers in my house, so she assured me she'd always tell me of schedule changes for her employees vacations and give me the opportunity to meet new walkers. 3 years later, this has always been the case! I signed up for weekday service with Strut the Pup. When my dog was a puppy, Strut the Pup was very good about making sure that I was in the schedule at a time that made sure to break my dog's day in half for a potty break. Now I'm not so concerned, but they still work great into my schedule and I like my dog to have a midafternoon social hour. Every walker I've had over the past 3 years (3 of them) have been amazing and my dog squeaks (her gleeful sound) when they come in and they've all left great notes and had fun with her in different ways. Lately I've been having a lot of schedule changes. Whether it be friends dogs staying with me or having really erratic travel schedules, Meaghan is always friendly and accomodating. Our dog is a shy rescue that can be nervous around strangers, so we were really worried about being able to find someone to help walk him when we couldn't. But Meaghan was great with our dog. We had her coming for a mid day walk once a week for several months. The first few weeks our dog was still apprehensive but soon (once we started leaving her bits of hot dog to bribe him with) he was doing great. He would sit right below where we kept the hot dogs just waiting for "the hot dog lady" to come. It was always nice to read his little report card when we got home that evening. Unfortunately, we're going to be moving out of state next week, so we'll be looking for a new walker, but hopefully we can find someone we can trust as much as Meaghan. read more
