I called my regular salon and was told it would be at least a week before they could see me. Stressing out I started calling salons. Not getting much luck I finally reached Susan and she shared her final appointment was at 6:00 but she would happily do me after that. Showing up about a 1/2 hour early I watched how she spoke with her as she cut and combed and finished her up. The client beefed with excitement and thank you for always making me beautiful. Now my turn. Susan an I exchanged pleasantries and then said ok what are we doing. I told her about the upcoming meeting and I needed to really look sharp. How do you usually comb your hair. Comb, brush, blow dry, product. It's a fricking haircut. I pulled out my IPhone and showed her. Ok, lets get busy. We talked and talked and before I knew it we were done. I appreciated that they had a trans flag and LGBTQIA+ flag in their bio on their business page. We love an inclusive space. However, after reading comments from one of the co-owners, I decided to pass on this salon. She used a slur against someone calling them "gay" as if it were an insult. I am uncomfortable spending my money on a salon where the co-owner uses bigoted language on their personal accounts, showing that they are in fact NOT with the community and use the flags as a way to get business from anyone and everyone. Shame on you Amber for being disingenuous about standing with the community. If you actually love LGBTQIA+ I would highly recommend spending your money at a company that does also.
