Mistake number three: I started my stellar divorce experience with Andrew Horberg as the pandemic was in full swing. After the courts reopened my case was slow going but no worries as we were attempting to negotiate child support with the attorney whom my lawyer told me was really good. Mistake number four; I stayed and should have run for the hills. Nearly two years into the world's slowest divorce my lawyer has a stroke and nobody informs me for a month. I then get a call from Doug Ehrman, he takes over the case and without much push back on anything at the very least closes the case. They don't advise you in this process and they certainly don't care. I had to call the firm to find out if my case was indeed closed and the divorce finalized. I have had multiple health problems arise during this divorce and could not hold a job and being without medical coverage was a nightmare. These were never taken seriously and the judge was never made aware. Right now I survive on unemployment which child support takes half of and I may have to file for disability. I have no savings as most of it was spent paying these clowns and I still have over 11k due to them in fees with my ex getting maintenance because she insists on working in a pizza parlor instead of getting a job she's capable of. I AM THE ONLY PERSON HERE WHO GOT SCREWED. They already asked me to take down one review after my first lawyer was planning to abandon me and this one stays. Use anyone but Levine, Ehrman & Horberg. RUN!

We are extremely disappointed with the representation we received from this law office. My…read moresignificant other is currently going through a difficult divorce and custody case. At first, everything seemed to be going smoothly with Peter assigned to the case. However, once things started to intensify, we were quickly made to feel like an afterthought. Despite being in a financially tight position, we trusted this firm--my S/O used his tax return and borrowed money from me to hire representation because the other party was constantly filing motions and avoiding mediation. When it came time for the temporary support hearing, Peter was unavailable due to a family emergency, and the attorney who filled in was completely unprepared. They failed to accurately present my S/O's income, failed to explain his parenting time, and failed to reference any of the documentation already submitted to the firm. Even worse, during that same hearing, we were advised to get a guardian ad litem and were then encouraged to drop the firm altogether in order to receive whatever was left of our retainer. The retainer was $5,000. In the end, they showed up to court twice, filed zero motions, and used every dollar--leaving us with no refund, no strategy, and a burdensome temporary support order to handle alone. We trusted them in good faith and ended up worse off than if we had filed everything ourselves with the help of the circuit clerk. This firm didn't just fail us--they left us more vulnerable than when we started.

The six other attorney's I spoke with talked more about money than they talked about my case and how they could help me. This was different with Attorney Muhammad, she made sure she could help me first and then talked about what it would cost too help me. Even in that she was more reasonable then the other Attorney's I had spoken with.To give you a little bit of my circumstance. I was divorce and my ex-husband had recently retired and according to out divorce decree . I was entitled to a percentage of his pension, but because my previous divorce attorney didn't filed the proper paper work the pension fund was denying me payment. I also discovered that the wrong information was listed on the document as well. Everything that could go wrong with me receiving any money was happening. This was going too be a long shot to say the least. We even had other Corporate Attorney's from the pension fund telling Ms.Muhammad she would never prevail. She didn't let that stop her she went too work. She let me know every step of the way from beginning too end what too be prepared for. She's very personable and I love that about her. I would get a call at night,if she needed too talk to me,in the morning,on the weekend. My point is she's not a Monday through Friday 9-5 email only type of Attorney. My case was long just like this review but in the end it was worth it. My attorney went up against a well known Attorney and firm who pull out every stop too win. The judge was extremely hard but Attorney Muhammad was able too do her magic and give the judge enough to sway him.
