I have been going to this Cost Cutters location for a while and have always had good experiences, but unfortunately my most recent visit was extremely disappointing. I walked in around 2:15 PM for a haircut and was received by a middle-aged African-American man, approximately in his 40s. From the very beginning, the interaction felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. When I tried to explain the type of haircut I wanted, he did not let me finish my sentence and immediately started trimming with clippers. I repeatedly told him that I did not want a fade and only needed a mild trim to make my hair neat, but he kept cutting until I had to insist several times before he stopped. Despite this, he continued cutting and ended up giving me a much shorter buzz cut than what I had asked for. At no point did he ask what length I preferred. His manner throughout the haircut was rushed, dismissive, and borderline aggressive. His body language felt intimidating, and he smelled strongly of smoke, which made the experience even more uncomfortable. Because of how rude and abrupt he was, I didn't feel safe confronting him directly during the haircut. To make things worse, the edges and lines were uneven; the very reason I came in for a trim in the first place. When I pointed this out, he attempted to fix it, but only in a half-hearted, careless way. He removed the cape in a rude manner in the and remain unprofessional, without asking if it was good or not, just walked away from there, as if he own this world, and doesn't care about anything. This was, without exaggeration, the worst haircut experience I have had in my adult life, both in terms of the haircut itself and the behavior of the stylist. I hope Cost Cutters management takes this seriously. I strongly recommend improving hiring and screening practices, as service from someone with this level of unprofessionalism can quickly drive loyal customers away. I have always trusted this location, but this experience makes me reconsider returning. read more

I had an appointment for a haircut and eyebrow wax with Kleigh at 3:25 PM on October 25, 2024. I arrived on time and checked in, but ended up waiting until 3:45 PM. When I asked about the delay, Kleigh informed me that it would take her another 30 minutes to finish with her current client, so I decided to run some errands in the meantime. I returned after half an hour, only to find she was still busy. I ended up waiting an additional 14 minutes before she started my service. She began with the eyebrow wax, but when she applied the aloe gel afterward, I felt a burning sensation. Kleigh mentioned that this sometimes happens with sensitive skin, and I didn't think much of it at the time. She then proceeded with my haircut, which was well done. However, when I went to the restroom before paying, I noticed multiple small nicks around my eyebrows from the waxing. My skin looked irritated and damaged, as if I had been mistreated. I showed Kleigh, but instead of apologizing, she dismissed it, saying this happens with thin skin. She casually offered me a $5 discount on the eyebrow wax, though I declined it and gave it as a tip instead, despite feeling really hurt by her dismissive attitude. Now, every time I wash my face or apply moisturizer, it burns for a few minutes. I'm including photos to show the irritation around my eyes for reference. Today, on October 27th, I called the salon to speak with the manager about the issues I experienced. The stylist who picked the phone listened to my entire story but informed me that I would need to return to the store in person to receive a refund. When I explained that I wasn't from the area and felt uncomfortable returning after the experience, she insisted that coming in was the only option. I then asked to speak with the manager, but the lady said she didn't know the manager's schedule. She also mentioned that she needed to get back to her clients and had already spent some time taking my call, which felt dismissive. Ironically, she wasn't apologetic at all either! read more

went to cost cutters (Conley road) for the first time, brought in my 3 kiddos and myself to get a hair cut. kleigh and Kristina did an amazing job getting the kids ready for a new style for the new year. highly recommend Kaleigh and Kristina for your next hair style, they are both very friendly and easy to carry on a conversation with, over all just a fun experience. (kleigh) if you ever see this, my kiddo was telling me just how awesome you were and how she felt she clicked with you in just a few second lol. I have been a customer of this Cost Cutters for many years. Today I had the worst experience I have ever had. It was so bad, I went home in tears and cried several times today. I went in to get an inch off my hair and then I asked the hairdresser if there was a way to cut my hair to accent the natural curl and leave me with more curl. She told me she could. When the hair cut was done, I now have a bob! My hair does not even touch my shoulders which is one thing I mentioned. Now that I am home and have bathed this evening, I have discovered my hair is shorter on one side than the other. This is not acceptable. The hairdresser informed me she had received some devastating news. Im sorry for the news she got. She also didnt charge me for the haircut and shampoo. Fulton, MO Cost Cutters - Sweet hair dresser cut my hair today. Very nice personality. Good hair cut. HOWEVER, this is the second ever appointment I made with this salon in Fulton, MO. I was pleased someone showed up to work today. Last time many customers waited for someone to come open the store. No one did. Today the young lady was working alone because again the manager called in because supposedly she has Covid. The salon was dirty. Hair all over the floor. No cleaning between customers besides a half sweep. No infection control cleaning. I returned home clothes went into the washer and took a shower. Not only is it a COVID risk but the comb used was reused from the previous customer - lice maybe? Hair dresser was really sweet and did a fine job on my trim. Manager is very unprofessional, unreliable, poor work and training ethics. We waited for a Cost Cutters to return to our area only to get a very health risky, poorly managed salon. I think it's not cool that I've sat in cost cutters now over a half hour had an appointment at 11 oh yeah she had my hair braided and then finally got your person and she said I can't braid should expect me to sit there and wait for show me the house get done before they can bother to get to me I don't think anybody should ever go to them again read more

Always ask first of the stylist is new before getting a simple trim. I asked for less than a two inch trim and long layers. I got my hair tangled and pulled the entire 20min it took for her to trim it unevenly. The experienced stylist came to "grade" her cut and had to straighten it out and cut another inch off and barely any layer. Long story short don't go here unless you know someone who is confident. read more

My daughter and I called on very short notice after one of her doctors visits-We live an hour and a half away. She is 9 and has a condition that is represented by the color purple and since she was a soldier throughout her treatments and lab draws, She was rewarded with purple streaks in her hair( that she has been begging for). They were able to get us both right in for cuts and a few purple streaks. WE both have challenging hair and they did phenomenal work. But it wasn't just the work they performed, it was their client interactions with not just us, but every one who came in the door. They were all personable and really seemed to enjoy their work. Kudos to them! Also- We LOVED the music! ( Small detail but added to our personal experience) Even though we are surrounded by salons where we live, we will be coming back to them during our future doctor's visits! read more

Me and my daughter have used Cost Cutters on Conley Room about 3 times since we moved here 3 years ago. The first time we walked in and waited about 45 minutes for an opening. They told me to call ahead of time and make an appoint so we would would only have to wait a few mintues next time. The 2nd time I called a head and scheduled an appointment and 10 minutes before my appointment they called and cancelled because stylist were sick and they were closing early. Today I called and made an appointment for me and my daughter again. The first opening they had was in an hour and fouty five mintutes. I scheduled the appountment and we showed up 5 mintes early. When we got there and checked in she told me there were two people in front of us. I told her we called in and made an appointment for a specific time. It went down hill from there. Apparently it does you no good to schedule an appointment because we were going to have to wait 30-45 mintues to get in and we had some where else to be in a hour. Tried to rescedule for the next day and they told me that would not even be an assure time because they take walk ins all day. Needless to say we left and will not be back and I will not be referring them to anyone. read more

First time last summer went in for a balayge came out with an ombré and fried hair. Went in the other day for simple bang trim. Completely messed up my bangs. I will never step foot in the salon again. Oh and my ombré bill was $200 after being told something else. read more
