    I recently moved back to Columbia, Missouri and my old salon had closed so I was in need of a new spot to occasionally get some highlights. I'm a natural blonde, but as with many of us, as we get older our hair color starts to change so I like my highlights to be very natural, thin and a lot of them so they don't look streaky. I had read some reviews on Yelp and found The Strand. I read several reviews that mentioned Stefani and that she seemed to have this down. I got my hair done with her today and couldn't be more pleased. Stefani was able to get my hair looking back to how I'm used to it looking and I am very happy. She did a great job and I recommend her to any blond who likes to keep their hair looking natural. Can't wait to come back! Thank you!! Also, the salon is very clean and modern. The front desk lady was very warm to me as well. All of these things plus my stylist made this a great experience.

    i asked for this color

    I went to the strand hoping to have my hair dyed dark green. i had 3 sessions of balayage at $125 each plus tip, to finally get my hair light enough for the color to stick, and when we finally dyed it, it turned out basically blue with the tiniest hint of emerald green, she missed multiple spots where the blonde from the balayage was still noticeable and the color was not what i wanted at all. not to mention the color faded before i even washed it one time and every time i washed it it became more and more blue, after the second wash my hair was completely turquoise and bright blue, after asking for dark, foresty green. I paid over $400 and got absolutely nothing I had planned to get, and all she said was that "fashion colors fade fast" but she didnt deliver good results at all, it was extremely sloppy for how much i paid. overall this salon is extremely overpriced and from my experience, does not deliver what the client wants, and offers little to no help when a problem arrises

    Don't trust this business with your information…read more I booked a haircut for my husband at Nefisa Downtown after getting a haircut there myself. After his haircut, they asked if he would be returning, and he said that he may return in a few months. They then asked if he wanted to return a month from that day. He said he might be back sometime around then. (Really he just didn't like his haircut, and he had a hard time communicating that. That part is NOT the salon's fault.) Here is where things went wrong with the salon: They booked him for the appointment, which he DID NOT ASK FOR. Received 0 texts confirming this "appointment" in advance, and they charged us $34 to my card for a no show appointment HE DID NOT ASK FOR. Receiving this charge, we were obviously confused. I emailed directly with the owner to settle this. First they "don't have any record of this charge". Then they "do have it on record, and say it was for his haircut he went in for" Not true. He paid for this haircut in person the same day he got it. Then it's "Well he had an appointment, and he didn't show up. We can't issue you a full refund." Dealt with this for WEEKS now. Don't go here. Jesus fucking Christ.

All staff I interacted with were very kind, made sure I was comfortable, and throughout the appointment Rylee kept me consistently updated with what she was doing, how long it would take, and what was next. I also really appreciate that she seemed to understand I wasn't a big talker! I would definitely recommend this salon, although understand that its not going to be a cheap price if thats something you are concerned about

    I have been going to this Cost Cutters location for a while and have always had good experiences,…read morebut unfortunately my most recent visit was extremely disappointing. I walked in around 2:15 PM for a haircut and was received by a middle-aged African-American man, approximately in his 40s. From the very beginning, the interaction felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. When I tried to explain the type of haircut I wanted, he did not let me finish my sentence and immediately started trimming with clippers. I repeatedly told him that I did not want a fade and only needed a mild trim to make my hair neat, but he kept cutting until I had to insist several times before he stopped. Despite this, he continued cutting and ended up giving me a much shorter buzz cut than what I had asked for. At no point did he ask what length I preferred. His manner throughout the haircut was rushed, dismissive, and borderline aggressive. His body language felt intimidating, and he smelled strongly of smoke, which made the experience even more uncomfortable. Because of how rude and abrupt he was, I didn't feel safe confronting him directly during the haircut. To make things worse, the edges and lines were uneven; the very reason I came in for a trim in the first place. When I pointed this out, he attempted to fix it, but only in a half-hearted, careless way. He removed the cape in a rude manner in the and remain unprofessional, without asking if it was good or not, just walked away from there, as if he own this world, and doesn't care about anything. This was, without exaggeration, the worst haircut experience I have had in my adult life, both in terms of the haircut itself and the behavior of the stylist. I hope Cost Cutters management takes this seriously. I strongly recommend improving hiring and screening practices, as service from someone with this level of unprofessionalism can quickly drive loyal customers away. I have always trusted this location, but this experience makes me reconsider returning.
