She started off with a very relaxing head and neck massage that was a wonderful way to start off, and when she worked her way down to my hands and, later feet, I was surprised at how great it felt. She finished off with some effluage and I absolutely love, used essential oils, and the environment was very quiet and not at all distracting. Pedicures there are a dream for me: no "razor egg" files (like at Mall & Walmart), just warm foot soak, light acid treatment (I have tough corns on my feet), lotion massaged into feet, ankles & calves, followed by base, 2 coats polish & topcoat for pedicure. Very rarely does polish rub/wear off even after three weeks. I have never had a bad or unpleasant experience at Dermistique's in my many visits. I was told that my nails were drying out and I should consider taking a break from gel . I agreed to not have the gel manicure and have the gel polish removed. When I went to check out, I was charged for a full manicure and really do not believe that was fair. The other thing that I am upset about was, I asked another nail a few months ago if a person should take a break from and was told that there was no need for this. So now I am out $48 and did not get the service I requested. I will certainly be looking for another nail salon if I ever decide to get manicures again, very disappointing. One thing that I usually look forward to is getting my manicures guess I'll just do my own from now on.
