I went in with hair that passed my waist...asked for two inches off, she cut 8-10 inches off and it has no shape. She asked me if it looked even in the front. A person that knows what they're doing doesn't have to ask their client if the cut is even. I told her yes just so she would stop cutting! She's the stylist from Singapore, don't sit in her chair! In conversation, I told her that I thought about being a beautician but got into something else. She said good, because it's not a good field, customers just complain. I see why! read more

This shop is clean and organized. I especially recommend Kim--even though it may be harder to get appointments when others find out what a jewel she is. She is kind and gentle, and she really listens to her clients. She has enough experience to be able to cut hair in a way that minimizes the problems and improves the style, or she can create a brand new style that is more flattering. I went in with my hair to my waist and asked the lady (I believe her name was Irene) to cut 2 inches off. She ended up cutting 5-6 inches and now it's barely past my shoulders. She was also extremely demeaning and rude. The entire appointment she was saying how "bad" my hair is. I have wavy/curly hair, while she had straight hair, and I don't think she knows anything about curly hair. Apparently she doesn't know what layers are, because she kept comparing my layers to the longer end and saying she doesn't understand why they're different lengths. I have curtain bangs and she didn't seem to know what they were either and told me I need to grow them out at least 5 times. She also told me at least 10 times to wash my hair everyday, which is very bad for curly hair. If don't you want your requests to be listened to, or to basically be roasted for 30 minutes, then you might want to reconsider that lady doing your hair. read more

I went in for a wash and style. They shampooed my hair once with some kind of crumby shampoo and stuck me under a dryer. Seriously? Please blow out my hair by hand. I have fine hair but a TON of it. She acted surprised when my hair was still wet and after I told her about my hair. So... I spent $27 on bad service, a crumby wash and to read an old copy of some celeb tabloid. I went in and made 2 appointments for the following day for my daughters, 11 and 13. They want just a trim. We showed up for our appointment on time and the lady that was supposed to do the cuts was in the middle of another haircut. We waited 15 minutes and then I asked how much longer. She then passed her current client to someone else and started on my 11-year-old. I told her she needed 2 inches off and some light face framing but not too high up. Like below her shoulders. Well, her face framing starts at her chin now, which I had asked for it to not start that high. My 13-year-old got taken by another lady who proceed cut her hair and be done on less then 5 minutes. The cut looks jagged and not smooth. I didn't even want to bother to try to have her fix it. I will do my best to make it look better. And then charge $20 for each!!!! Such an overpriced joke! They could have at least washed/dried and styled their hair. I would never recommend this place. They don't listen or care what you want. read more

Very pleased with attitude of employees that served me. Some young stylists are sort of dismissive with us old ladies that are more interested in convenience than high style. I found the salon on-line and called to make an appointment. Since summer isn't busy I was able to sign up that day. They also take walk ins. The salon was attractive, very clean and cool. Kim cut my hair just right, recognized the problems that frustrate me and improved the style better than I would have thought possible.Overall, what sometimes is a disappointment was a pleasant experience. cj read more

Poor cut and customer service, rushed appointment. I do not recommend this salon. My impression from the phone call to make the appointment, to the cut and customer service, is that their only goal is to fit in as many customers as they can. When I made the appointment for a haircut, they did not mention that the shampoo and blow dry were not included. When my daughter arrived for her appointment they acted like they were squeezing her in because they were so busy even though we had made an appointment. She cut my daughters hair while it was completely dry and the ends look worse than when she walked in. They did not ask if she was happy with the cut and again did not offer a shampoo or style. Then they stood by while my daughter (who had never paid on her own before - she's 16) tipped $10!! and they didn't say a word to her. The only good thing I can say about them is that when I complained they did offer a refund and were pleasant even though I was pretty upset. However, their composure is not enough of a reason to return. I recommend that you go to the Smart Style in the foothills Walmart, we've always received nice hair cuts there and they really take their time to make sure you have a positive experience and the cut you want. read more

I'm really picky about getting my hair done. I've had my hair done by the same lady for 20 years until I moved to Yuma. One of my friends worked at Cost Cutters and I got my hair done by her until she moved. At this point I had no one to do my hair. I continued going to Cost Cutters because that's all I know. Everytime I go there, I sign in and wait anywhere from 5-20 minutes which isn't that bad for a walk in. I tell the lady cutting my hair that day what to do and she does it. No friendly chit-chat and it feels "stiff". But I'm really shy with strangers and this kind of thing normally happens. It's 14 dollars for a simple cut, or 17 if I want my hair washed and dried. By my standards, that's a really good deal. read more
