I found Ms. Costa through the Miami-Dade Bar Association Referral Service and it was worth the $50 fee. I was told that I would get a free 30 minute consultation but it lasted longer. I found Ms. Costa easy to talk to and after hearing me describe my situation--tenant/landlord dispute, she said she thought she could help me. I sent her all of the materials she requested, which she read over a weekend, and she sent me a schedule of her fees. As I live in New York and was using her services in Miami I thought her fees were quite reasonable. She and/or her staff made phone calls on my behalf and coordinated the work on repairing the damage to my apartment. My tenant had punctured the line to the air conditioning unit, took a light fixture from the bathroom area and left a general mess. We were able to work together via phone and email. When I had the opportunity to travel to Miami I made an appointment to meet Ms. Costa in person. In person she is very friendly and gracious. Unbeknownst to me she had arranged for me to meet a potential new property manager, a public adjuster, and conference called with the mold remediater. Before we wrapped up our meeting she took out a legal pad and enumerated all of the issues with the tenant. Then she wrote a letter to the tenant's attorney and I haven't heard another word from the tenant or her attorney.
