I come to this Costco Business Center regularly to shop for my mom's coffee shop, and I had a really disturbing experience outside the store today. An older Asian man wearing a white shirt, with tattoos and black hair in a ponytail, became extremely aggressive because he thought I was taking his parking spot. What confused me was that he had already left another parking spot with his items. While I was still inside my vehicle, he began yelling at me and told me to "go back to my country," even though I was born here. Regardless, that kind of racist comment is completely unacceptable to say to anyone. He then tried to provoke me by telling me to get out of my car to "fight him." No customer should have to deal with behavior like that while simply trying to shop. What was also disappointing was that Costco security was parked nearby and did not appear to step in or address the situation. I sincerely hope management denied this man service or at least addressed his behavior, because it was disgusting, aggressive, and unacceptable. read more

It has been a long time since I was last here... So time for an update. But now that I am shopping at Cardenas Supermarket down the street, I can frequent you more often. And I am going to check out your regular Costco in Hayward also on my next visit. Quality/Quantity - I like visiting the Business Costco because they have slightly different items from regular Costcos. And I sometimes discover some GREAT finds. Well, not today. I like buying your commercial kitchenware from this location. Good quality and reasonable prices. No fresh seafood at this location. No food court. Actually, very limited departments. Just noticed that I do not have many pictures for this location; I will change that on my next visit. Atmosphere - They added gas to this location in April of 2022. Makes parking slightly harder, but I like to walk. Neat and organized; actually, it is even more spacious than I remember from my last visits. Service - Consistent. Price - I never check. A guy came by, scan our Costco membership and scan our stuff while the cashier was helping someone else. Once it was our turn, everything ranged up and all we had to do was pay! 3.5/5 Fun to visit my first Costco Business Center, but no particular incentive to come back again unless I need bulk individually packaged chips/candy, or a ton of meat haha. Our first impression was that the parking lot could really be improved. The layout and number of spaces aren't great - for example, the line to get gas runs in the middle of several lanes of parking so there is an unecessary amount of congestion. Inside the store, there are lots of restaurant supply tools (big pots, trays, takeout containers in bulk, etc) as well as foods (10 lb bags of onions, tubs of yogurt, a whole frozen lamb, etc). There are also some things that you can find at normal Costcos, but it seems like the pricing isn't necessarily cheaper all the time. We picked up a few staples we needed anyways and a few fun things like pastrami, a huge bag of shredded cheese, and fun Dutch Crunch bread. Checking out was pretty quick with no line and pleasant customer service. No food court and no bakery, as Business Costcos are, but lots of snacks! Don't come hungry! read more

Costco business center isn't like most Costcos as you can imagine. I come here for particular things because they do not have food items and other items that the regular Costcos have. The one thing they've never had that I wish they did was the Cilantro & Like shrimp which is my favorite thing that most Costcos have. Like the place says this Costco is more business focused/centered, although they do have food, drinks, liquor and all that stuff just as the others do...it's just limited items food wise so they don't every have all the items the other Costcos do. Most families could shop for grocery items just fine here in addition to electronics/ office and business things. It's around the corner from me which is why I come. You'd be sadly mistaken to think that this Costco isn't as busy though. They are just as packed and busy as other Costcos, which is why I don't come to Costco often...I've never been to a Costco that didn't feel a little chaotic and that's my least favorite part of visiting places like this. They have cup holders, to-go boxes, larger portions of food, etc. Just like other normal Costco, they have a gas station. However, there's no food court but it's probably because it focuses more on business than just people buying stuff and then eating at the food court afterwards. I wouldn't say that you should not rely on Costco Business Center too much because they may not have everything that you need for a business. You'll have to go to other restaurant supply store for more options, but Costco Business Center is still good enough in most cases such as getting to-go boxes. This location is right by work and I love coming here around 3pm on weekdays because there's always parking, it isn't crowded and there's never a line for gas. Remember, they don't sell everything they sell at regular Costco locations (no bakery, no food court, etc.) But if you need milk, coffee, meat, eggs, basic staples...this is your place! read more

I own a business and buy a lot of inventory. I went last Thursday and got 18 heavy cream. Majority of them was fine, but I opened a total of 4 heavy cream that went bad. I took a video and pictures of item so the next time I go back (I went back today, 3 days after) I could have them exchange/replace them. They told me no because I didn't have the physical item with me. I showed them the video of all the damaged heavy cream. They still said no. I love Costco anyway... but the Business Center has some other great options available. If you like a certain kind of chips and want individual bags, you can buy a whole box of just that flavor! If you love dill pickles on your sandwiches, how about a ginormous jar of pickle slices? The meat section is wonderful, lots of different cuts, lunch meats, etc.. Since they sell to restaurants , you can find food in large quantities. They also sell to small markets so there are lots of individually packaged snack foods, candy, etc. Since this a business center, it also sells office supplies, cleaning items, disposable plates, etc, and actual restaurant type of cookware. We don't go there often, but we do go a few times a year to stock up. If you haven't been there, you may want to take a drive and check it out. I am sure you'll find some goodies. read more

Well organized; no samplers; less kids; shorter lines. That's what we enjoy the most here. Not to mention a better selection of produce, bulk items, wholesale meats and restaurant supplies that can help with entertaining. We probably come by here every six weeks or so to fill in items that we can't get from the regular Costco's. The store has been in the process of replacing a freezer for the past few months. So untill the South San Francisco center opened up this was the only Costco Business Center in the Bay Area... And these Costco are a different ball of wax compared to the ones you usually shop at. So different how you ask? To be clear any members can shop here but the emphasis is on small business/restaurant owners. Lots of people joke about the size of things a typical Costco, here its like they were on steroids: You can get a Need a whole Lamb carcass?, 500 flat pizza boxes?,a 40 pound box of frozen chicken?, a 12 burner commercial stove? An Industrial stick mixer than could power an aircraft carrier? 50 pounds of panko bread crumbs? Or my favorite the 2 gallon jug of Nutella... On the other hand there is no large scale electronics display, tires, or pharmacy. This one also does not have a food court. I've heard things about Costco Business Centers but this is my first time visiting one. Compared to expectations, this was a lot more similar to a regular Costco than I expected. It has no food court but does have a gas station (one of the cheapest in the Bay Area and usually the same price as the regular Hayward Costco). The most notable difference is the presence of restaurant paraphernalia like professional kitchenware, wholesale quantities of disposable containers, etc. Snacks are sometimes the same as regular Costco, but often in an even bigger quantity than usual. There is a more limited selection of frozen food, but what they do have is largely the same. For some reason, apples are much cheaper than regular Costco. read more

I wish there was another Costco Business Center closer, but glad we have the option of one relatively in the area. The last time I came here was specifically for cereal again for some reason at one point Special K was really hard to come by at the regular stores! What's so special about the Costco Business Center? It's well focused on folks who run businesses. So you won't find TVs, electronics, smaller appliances, rugs, home goods, clothing, etc. here. You'll find commercial stuff especially larger kitchen appliances that's meant for restaurants. They also have great snacks for folks who run convenient stores. A variety of chips. They do have some interesting frozen food here that's not found in the stores like a bunch of different soups. Their freezer section also is so much larger and aisles worth walking around. They even provide some jackets in case you forget your own. Aside from that, they have syrups for your flavored drinks as well as some fun single packed medication which can be a lot for homes, but it's nice to take for vacation purposes or medical kits. Again, I wish it was closer as I'd come here a little more often. Just make note it's not open on Sundays. read more

I don't know why I chose not to frequent the business center. I've been missing out on a remarkable experience. I've had a business membership since 2006 but have rarely frequented a business center Costco. I would recommend this for business membership holders with a family of four or more. There's cleaning supplies, toiletries, batteries and other non food products I'd buy from here. My household consists of two. So the food wouldn't be consumed in a suitable amount of time. I absolutely LOVED both trips I made within the last month. Hassle free and a breeze with an exception of the day I had to clear out carts from the handicap stall to park. It wasn't difficult to find a park. There were no long lines. The gas station was clear. I believe there's always value in buying in bulk. It lasts longer, meaning the less often you have to purchase things. In speaking with one of the cashiers she said their location is less cumbersome than the others, Hayward and San Leandro locations. They carry tobacco products for the businesses that sell them. I was a little shocked to see this. The business center is my new primary Costco. It's a further drive but worth it not to spend a chunk of time in every category from looking for a park, getting gas and waiting in line. Getting groceries and running errands should not become a headache. They do not have a food court here, nor vision and pharmacy. But I'm ok with that. It's the PEACE for me. read more

This is the closest Costco Business location to me. I wish there was one closer since I live in the Dublin area. I find myself here on a weekend after work cuz girrrrl/bro I avoid traffic like the plague. 580/880 traffic.. iykyk.. I only come here for the bulk halal meat options. I have purchased boneless/skinless chicken thighs and breast, ground beef, Tri-Tip and turkey bacon. I recently saw that they had halal hot dogs. I'm a single person, household of 1 so when I come here I get a case of what I need and then take it home, portion it out and freeze. It saves me time and money in the long run. I meal prep weekly and having it available in my freezer ready to go is a life saver. So why the 3 stars? Parking can be better. There aren't any self check lanes so standing in line and waiting takes a while especially when, as expected, it's people with cart loads of stuff. When I call to see if they have something in stock before making the trip there, it's a hit or miss with anyone answering. I do have to say, the meat dept guys are nice and helpful but wouldn't be able to tell me if something specific will be coming in or when. So, I've got big memories and ties to this place. Back when I ran my own small business about a decade ago, I used this place like crazy. Never thought of to write a review then, as anything 'work' related usually doesn't inspire me to write. But now as a regular customer, I can see this place under a different light and hopefully share an angle or two, This is not your regular Costco. Just as the name depicts, this warehouse is more geared towards a business versus a home. But if your home/needs can utilize things in bulk, then this may serve you well. Main differences between this and a regular Costco: -No clothing, toys or books here. Gotta go to regular Costco for those. -No Food Court here. Hungry for a cheap hot dog or pizza? Tough sh%#, move elsewhere. The good is it thins the crowd here, so no bodies loitering around making a mess. -No Food Sampling in the aisles. This is a godsend for me and is why I hate going to a regular Costco. Oblivious bodies jamming up corners and aisles just to get something for free, that they probably already know about. Reminds me of throwing a piece of scrap to a flock of seagulls. Lol -Bigger bulk items. Bigger boxes and sizing here even than regular Costco (imagine that!). For example, bags of sugar and flour start at 25 lbs, want/need a 32 lb tub of sour cream, Biz Costco got you! And you can even get a WHOLE frozen lamb here averaging 30 lbs, wrapped in a canvas bag. Not ideal for most homes, but if you're throwing a massive shindig or love to entertain, this can be of use to you. -No alcoholic beverages here. No wine, no beer, no monster handle jugs of vodka or Jack Daniels. Have to go to regular Costco for those. -You want more supplies/equipment for your home that professional restaurants use, easy to get here. I've had many family members/friends ask me to get them a heavy duty Food Processor or restaurant pans/pots/storage containers, and I am usually able to deliver. -Check Out lines usually shorter than a regular Costco, especially during the evenings where a regular Costco is jammed packed. Here I find the mornings to be busier, cuz businesses want to get their stuff done early. The bad here is you may have to get behind a business customer who has a flatbed pushcart or 2 with a receipt over a grand easily. Don't pout and roll your eyes, you're in their store now, not the other way around. -Their Meat and Dairy area are under one refrigerated room. The whole room is refrigerated, like in the 30's degrees cold. Either shop fast or bring a jacket. Pre-pandemic they used to hang bright orange jackets near the entrance that one could use. But I'm sure all of that has been pulled. They just added a Costco Gas Station out in their parking lot. So, it adds a lot of traffic here now, but this is actually what will draw me here now, since I don't need this place for business anymore. And with gas prices being ridiculously insane as of late, I'm not the only one here doing the same. Lots of pumps, a monitor to tell you which pump is open so it keeps the line moving, and pricing about as good as you can find these days (which still sucks!). Business Costco, you do me well. Some of the managers here are so rude and lazy. Some others do too much and not in a good way. They act like they al mighty and powerful. Shi, i can't remember his full name I usually set my things in a way that cashiers can scan really fast without having to do too much extra work, more than once I had been at the registers and Shil... cane over and started pulling things out like a maniac. They weren't even that busy when I tried to speak, and he shut me up and said, " Let me do my job, Sir." I didn't say anything back because the employees and managers/ supervisore can banned or get you in a lot of trouble if you say something back. I own a small business, so I am there a lot. Once, I ve forgot my wallet and didn't think I had my membership on my phone. Luckily, that day, We close early, so I was rushing. I got there at 5:33 pm, they are not busy at all, they only had one person working membership and customer service. I didn't think it was gonna be enough time for me to wait and run and get my things, which I needed. So, I approached the other supervisor a girl this time, told her the situation, she seem like she was actually working on something, she said you have to go to costumer service, You guys are about to close I just need a one day pass, at this moment the Shil... guy interrupted and rudely told me to just go over there, and like he didn't care whether or not I was able to get my shopping down. But, the girl then looked over and said I see if I can send someone over. Shil continued to just talk, and honestly, I just stopped listening to him. If I had reviewed Business Costco a few months ago, I would've given them at least 4 stars. They had ample parking and I could find most of what I needed without having to go to a regular Costco. They don't have a food court or sell clothes, DVDs, books or tires, but I generally don't need to purchase those items on a regular basis. It was in and out of the warehouse pretty smoothly. Now, with the building of a gas station, at this already small location, they've carved out at least a third of the parking. What used to be easy enough to find parking led me to go to parts of this Costco I'd never been and still no parking. I finally found one as I intended to leave and another car almost rammed me for it. It felt like Christmas season shopping which is ridiculous. At this point, I'll probably stop coming here and go to a regular Costco on a weekend...and that says a lot. If you are lucky enough to find parking, shopping isn't bad (just as before). I think people are coming in waves due to parking so there may be long lines and then almost no one in line. Once the gas station is built, good luck to all of you trying to find parking or trying to get gas. I can only imagine how hellish that will be. Where would the gas lines even line up? Since there aren't many Business Costco stores in the area; I make the drive here periodically. This store carries more grocery items than the regular Costco stores. The Danville and Livermore stores typically carry one type/variety of boxed chips. This Business Costco carries 15+ different varieties? Soooo, yes; I make the drive here especially since I purchase for our school events, etc. Also, I purchase the Lee's Vietnamese coffee from here. It's definitely one of our favorite items from this store. They opened their gas station about a month ago while their Hesperian location is being renovated. Now, they just need to open a food court and sell some clothing here. Lol. I know they won't; but, one can wish. The only downside is that the employees are "hit or miss". The manager (or is he a supervisor) is very crass. I've briefly interacted with him twice and he's very short and rude. Costco has ten Business Centers across the United States, of which one is in Nevada and nine in California, of which three are in Northern California, Hayward, South San Francisco and San Jose. The Costco Business Center in Hayward was the former Price Club before the company was acquired by Costco. Remember Price Club? The Business Centers are different that the regular Costco in part that they are geared for businesses members. It doesn't have a pharmacy, optometry center, food court, hearing aid center, and gas station. Instead of TVs, jewelry, clothing or home furnishings, it gears its inventory for offices, food service and convenience store businesses. But you don't have to be a business owner to shop here since its open to all Costco members. I shop the Business Center for items that a regular Costco doesn't carry. They have a section of kitchen ware and gadgets that you can buy just one item, not in bulk. For food items, they carry brands and varieties than a regular Costco. But I like their meat/cheese section. You walk into a huge refrigerated room for a large inventory selection. They carry more cuts of meats and in Prime, Choice and Select grade, though in bulk packaging. Since this store has been around for a while, it is not as bright and new as you might be accustomed to at a regular Costco. The Business Center is good place to get some unique items not found at your typical Costco. read more
