Whoa I had driven down this road many times but totally missed glances over here. Maybe I looked once but thought it wasn't for the public. You see US Foods is one of the big wholesale food distributers that restaurants big and small use. They will deliver big loads of goods whether food or supplies right to the restaurant, usually on pay terms so no cash is handled. And for busy restaurants this is a must, as they constantly need raw goods coming in weekly if not daily. This is the first time I saw a 'US Foods' store. I think they took over something else. But it is a big store/space where almost everything is in bulk and/or wholesale form. For the home cook there is really nothing here that would fit their needs/kitchen unless you like to buy in bulk. 20 - 50 pound bags of beans, sugar or flour is usually just too much for an average Joe to carry to the car, let alone store in a home pantry. But if you like to entertain/cook for a large group like a big birthday, a bbq outing or big holiday get-togethers, then this place may serve you a purpose. I browsed one day and got a good feel for the place and here are my observations. If you go into the fresh produce area or the meat/dairy areas, you will have to go into a refrigerated room. The whole room is about 35 degrees so if you go in there in shorts and/or a t-shirt, then you will not be able to stay in there for too long. Produce not really extensive but you will be able to find some basics. Some things are in cases/big bags but not everything. Actually lots of things in smaller packaging like 2-3 pounds which is doable for a home fridge/usage. I'd say the offerings here are somewhat similar to what you could get at Costco. Meats are a mixed bag. Lots of processed meats like deli meat in whole form. Lots of cheese too but much too bulky for a home fridge. There are pork and beef but all in big/whole chunks. Nothing will be cut into steaks. Big packs too like minimum 10 pounds or more. But if you're cooking for a big group, you're gonna need a minimum of 10 pounds so this may be a draw for me. The bad is for the beef selection, even though the pricing did seem good, there is no 'choice' grade. They use 'select' grade here, which is a notch down from choice. But if you're just braising or slow cooking then this grade would be just fine. Costco only serves 'choice' grade or higher so theirs is more premium. Pork is fine here, I got some pork tenderloin in 2 packs, which is one of the smallest packages I saw, ideal for home usage. Good selection of restaurant ware. Pots, utensils and storage containers. This is a big draw for me as I love restaurant quality storage containers. They are sturdy, with tight lids and many are stackable. These are even hard to find at Costco and Smart and Final. On a weekday morning there is zero traffic here, complete opposite of Costco. Now this is more geared towards restaurants, but knowing if I can get something here or Costco, I will choose this, as the parking and ease to get in and out is an amazing asset to me. I was gonna give them 3 stars for not really being friendly for home usage but given those certain occasions where I'm cooking for 10 or more people, then this place will get a heavy consideration. Today I purchased a box of oranges at CHEF'STORE in San Lorenzo for my natural juice business. Before purchasing the box, I inspected it and found several spoiled oranges, so I replaced them with good oranges from the same product. When I got to the checkout, an employee named Eloisa questioned why the box was so full and informed me that the store had cameras, suggesting that I may have added extra oranges. This made me feel unfairly suspected and embarrassed in front of other customers. The box contained 82 oranges, which is within the range stated on the receipt (72 to 86 oranges per box). At no point did I take any product without paying for it. I was disappointed by the way the situation was handled. As a customer, I expected to be treated with respect and professionalism. Additionally, when I later called the store to explain what had happened, my call was disconnected before I was able to fully express my concerns. I hope management reviews this situation and ensures that customers are treated fairly, respectfully, and based on facts rather than assumptions. read more

Still no change with the unfriendly and rude cashier, Eloisa. I had contacted the main office through their website to tell them about my experience last year, and I get a call from the manager of that store a few days later. I tell her what has been happening, she goes into some spiel about how she makes the store welcoming to everyone like being welcomed to her home, etc., and she knows about this cashier. She will talk to her. I go in last week and thankfully she wasn't working the cash register when I went to pay, but she came out a few minutes after. She waves over the next customer and the customer says, "Hi! How are you?" in a very friendly manner. She didn't say anything, didn't smile and didn't acknowledge him. I thought, "How incredible rude and unprofessional.". What I have noticed is if she's helping a hispanic customer she's friendly, talkative and smiling. Any non-hispanic she's non-talkative, curt and rude. read more

For me anyways, with the holidays fast approaching I would not forget to drop by this wonderful place, not only are the selection choices massive you can also buy in bulk. Along with turkey, I like to buy a roast to complement the meal. Unfortunately the cuts of meats at the local supermarkets are much smaller in 2024. I would rather buy 1 big roast here than two smaller ones from the market. Don't forget the vegetables. This place is like a huge warehouse and everything is so easy to find. read more

I was put on by a friend about this place. A throw back to Price Club and Smart and Final?? Pickles by the bulk!! In search of family Holiday meats in comparison to Costco prices. This place was hands down a winner. However, I am not feeding 20 plus people meat for the Holidays. Very clean and organized! I purchased some charcuterie/cheeseboard items, horseradish sauce, A-1steak sauce, bag of lemons, ranch dressing packets. Individual sized. With Costco Business and regular Costco nearby, I most likely won't be back here. read more

Awesome store for restaurants, party hosts, and everyone! It reminds me of Smart & Final but with even more competitive pricing on bulk items, no membership is required either. They've got everything from meats to cheese to spices to buckets of soy sauce. They also have a huge selection of Torani, Monin, and Da Vinci syrups. And they cost a fraction of the price I see online. I was looking for a specific sugar free flavor that I never see in stores and they had it! Great and friendly service from the cashier at checkout too. They're located next to Crunch Fitness. Be cautious and take note of the signs posted in the parking lot regarding not keep valuables in sight. Interesting things that are also useful for the home chef. I bought smoothie mix that my kids love, a lid for steaming that fits pots and pans, and a scooper that's perfect for cookie dough. Bought other stuff too, but had to have some restraint to not impulse buy. There's a lot of stuff to choose from. You can really go wild in there. read more

This is just a curious visit cos big box retailers always get the best of me. So if you're running a restaurant or a food truck, I probably come away biased as thinking this place has (almost) everything. Shelves and items are stocked neatly imo. They have what I think is everything if you wanted to house a big party, unless you're going for kids superhero or cartoon theme plates and neon colored plastic utensils, they don't have those here. Less hectic than visiting (Business) Costco if you're looking for cheap foam or more eco-friendly options. Didn't venture into the refrigerated section which had a selection of meats and cheeses, whip cream and other dairy products. All the tricks of the trade blown to bits. They had ready-made spaghetti noodles in a bag. That bavarian cream in the chocolate custard donut bar was in a piping bag ready to squirk inside a donut. Open a can of hash for that cornbeef hash. Ohh! Nothing is homemade. Everything can come in a can. You don't have to own a restaurant to be a customer here. The place is clean. If you have a big party or restaurant, im sure you can buy whatever you need. Spinach in huge bags. I was still thinking about that bavarian boston cream cake. They also have cleaning supplies and gallons of dish soap. The overhead to supplying restaurants must be high. Costs were not cheap. read more

I usually come to this location for my business about five days a week. A regular customer. They have just about everything that I need for my business and located near my house, so it is very convenient for me. Friendly staff too. One day I was there around 5:30 PM. The parking lot was unusually packed. There was a Lexus also driving around looking for a parking spot. The Lexus finally decided to just park his car on a handicap spot. I saw a guy, a driver, getting out of the car and his wife from the passenger side. I told him that's a handicap zone. He said I will only be two minutes. After I park my car, I went inside and these two people were taking their time shopping around. After I finished shopping, I came outside look for a license plate number. as you can see on the picture this car did not have one. I tried to look for a VIN number through windshield , but it was covered with a hat. In my attempt to avoid the crowds in supermarkets, I thought I'd check this place out. On a Sunday afternoon, it was nice and empty so no worries about the 6 foot rule. Although there's a sign reading masks are required, I saw it wasn't enforced as I watched 2 people exit without any type of face coverings. There were sanitizing wipes for your cart inside. With a long list, unfortunately I only found 3 items. Nonetheless, I toured each aisle to check out their inventory. I didn't find much in produce section. There were cartons of tomatoes, large sachet of potatoes, etc. There's a large walk-in cold room, where dairy and meat are stored. Meat and frozen foods are Costco-sized; however, the dairy items are your usual grocery store size. Some were case-size, large cans or jars, etc. I was able to find larger carton of chicken broth, which is also available in a case of 12. The corn starch I found was pretty darn cheap for a large container for under $3. A nice find was a case of mini-Martinelli sparkling cider, miniature size of your favorite non-alcoholic beverage at event. Really cute and a wonderful idea for events. If you're unable to find eggs and bleach, this store has them at a good price. There are also plenty of supplies for food service business, ie prep and takeout containers. Additionally, there are trash cans and cleaning supplies in stock as well. There was zero wait at the cashier. They take Apple and Google Pay. There is another trip to the supermarket for me this week. I'll return post-pandemic to check their inventory. I bought 2 cases of frozen fries. The cases of fries were labeled at $40.29 each. At the time of check out the fries were ringing out at $50.29 each. I asked the cashier and showed them pictures I had take on my phone of the price labeled. The cashier refused to price match. The cashier proceed to FaceTime her manager. Her manager refused to sell me the fries at the price that they had labeled then at $40.29. Told me I had to options to purchase them at $50.29 or leave them. I decided to purchase them. The following day I decided to return them because I found them for cheaper at Costco. When I arrived Keren the same chaser recognized me and refused to give me a refund. I asked why since they were still in box unopened she started because the boxes were wet. I told it it's ice from the freezer and they will eventually dry. She proceed to call her manager and he refused as well. The return policy states I can return items bought 30 days after purchase. Also disturbing how they want to resell the cases fries. read more

I remember when this store came to my community I was so thankful that I no longer had to make the trek to Oakland. This store has tons of items that I use in my family and catering life. Alvin and Robert are truly the store highlights very knowledgeable about the items that they carry. If there is a item they don't have they will do there best to get them in the store for me. I easily give this place 5 stars because this is like a free membership for Costco! They have tons of restaurant supplies (which I personally believe are typically good quality products) and bulk products. I feel like after every visit, I always find something new to stock up on. They have an entire aisle of coffee syrup flavorings, which I think is super cool if you prefer to brew your own coffee. This place is also extremely organized and is a great place to go to if you need to stock up on products if you have a restaurant... well, I don't have a restaurant, but just in case there are some people looking to stock up on supplies! Hahaha. The only things I dislike about this place are: 1. The customer service. The employees here are complaining most of the time and announce their counting down the hours until their shift ends. 2. There are no small carts, you'd have to push a flatbed cart. Otherwise, they give you boxes (sometimes) to carry all your items out. Despite those two things though, I still think this place is a true gem! read more

Update: I've decided to give this store a second chance, and I this visit had gone better than expected. all I needed was some meat for dinner and it was the closest store so decided why not, the employees are so helpful there was a small Hispanic girl who helped me pick out the right meat for my dinner but then when I go to check out another older Hispanic woman who is the only one on checkout was just looking at her phone while I'm standing there waiting to pay. C & C is part of the Smart & Final and Sprouts Market group. this store is HUGEEE. most offerings are bulk sized. best deals are in the meat department. single slabs of fresh meat can be dollars/lb. cheaper than safeway. buys: Ibp lite spareribs 1.66/lb. by the case -1.76 per pound if u buy just a slab. -fresh, same as what safeway and costco gets. -mostly ibp meat products offered. take outs: -4 stars only for the meats, only items geared for restaurant use. -better to shop at Smart & Final where household sizes are stacked. -good place to buy supplies for parties, big events..pricing is relative/market driven. read more

My issue with this store is that they are constantly running out of things for weeks! The employees and manager are super nice, but their product is always missing. As a small business owner, it's hard to support and buy from them when they most likely ran out or just don't have what you need, and the shelves sit empty for weeks! read more

Holy sh*t! Customer service is EXTREMELY awesome. This location is way better than the way in concord because 1) they always have everything in stock 2) willing to listen to customers suggestions/feedback/complaints whatever it is they are there to listen to make their store better 3) if there's something you need you could always ask them to order it ahead of time 4) CLEAN & ORGANIZED! As someone who's been coming here every week this just makes it easier to shop and being more efficient with your time 5) staff knows inventory well and always willing to help if you don't know where things are 6) one thing I really love about this place is they are always willing to help you carry out if even if it's not much or if the items aren't "heavy" they are always willing to ask you no matter what and this is the only place where they are consistent 7) sales on certain things just gotta look out for them/I believe there's a booklet in the front that lists special sales or you can ask. This is our go-to place for produce. If you eat a shit ton of veggies and fruit like we do, come here! Unfortunately there is a very limited organic selection, but the standard selection is amazing. This store has decent price without membership fees. But be aware, a lot of their products are expired and out of date! I made the mistake of purchasing an item that was expired, once I realized that I tried to return it but they won't take it back, not even for exchange. The manger was rude and insensitive! Check the expiration or used by date before you buy. Again I've had seen or accidentally touched on several occasions expired spices, grains, yogurt, red cabbage, apples that are rotting in the bag with liquid oozing out yuck! If you can, shop from a place who takes care to have fresh and unexpired food on the shelf. The savings you get are not worth the risk and the rudeness from the manager! It seems like they don't do quality control and they don't give a crap about costumers. read more
