I think this is a really good store in terms of it's cleanliness, wide selection of groceries and they always have interesting and much more selection of home decor than you can find in a typical grocery store (Sobey's included). My only hesitation in giving SavOn 5 stars is that they, like all SavOn Foods are pricey. Unless you troll for sales and use their app. But they're certainly no more pricey than Sobeys or Safeway. But with the cost of groceries climbing incrementally, all grocery stores are becoming unaffordable, I fear.

I walked around the entire produce dept. looking for green onions, there was none to be found and no one to ask. I saw a coupon for Quaker products, buy 4 and get 1 free. I bought four boxes of oatmeal to get a free box of granola bars which were $2.49. The cashier took off $2 for the coupon so I said it should have been $2.49. She replied, no you only get $2 off. Instead of arguing with her since there was a line, I left with my groceries. With so much competition around, I think I will shop at Safeway and Save On Foods instead!

This is great as it was about a $10 value. I like the fresh cut fruit selection, offering coupons for items, and great deals. The meat selection wasn't much but it could have been the time of day we went. Three cashiers were open and we didn't have to wait in line. The Sobeys card is great as you can accumulate points when you shop to redeem for money off in the future. Will be shopping at this store more in the future!

The aisles are a bit squishy, as are the ends of the checkouts, and there are no self check outs. The deli section is smaller. Accepting all that, this Save On has a pretty unique selection of more specialty items. For example, the cheese selection is quite good, and there are a number of ethnic sections and selections (like bulk spices, bulk yoghurts, kosher) you don't see at higher end Save Ons. The staff was also quite friendly, although one girl at a counter did mix up my order. Overall I was pleasantly surprised and will be back to this convenient location.

I went shopping at safeway northgate centre during the storm and in the evening. I parked right by…read morethe door so I would not get wet. However, when I walked to the door, the door was locked. There was no sign on the door saying why the door was locked. I thought perhaps it was broken I had to walk to the side door to even get in while the rain was pouring. I did end up wet. When I asked the cashier, Miranda, she told me that they think they close for safety reasons. Miranda was such a doll and provided excellent quality service. Management, specifically the supervisor, Holly should be on top of these little details. What if there was someone with disabilities who was in my place? What would have they done in the rain?
