Avoid this place unless you want to be rear-ended in the car wash. You've been warned. First problem: The car attendant started sending in cars too close to each other. Second problem: Once you drive in, you put your car in neutral and are locked in place by their machine. Since everything is automated it ended up shoving the car behind me into my car as I was nearing the end of the car wash. Even if I had wanted to (try to) move forward to avoid being hit, it would have resulted in me hitting the person in front of me. Neither are good options. I rubbernecked around looking for the car wash ...i didn't see it, but i did see a sign that i followed once i finally got done pumping gas. there were two lines...roll down window to pay at a kiosk (just like when you are getting gas)...$7.99 that includes a bunch of xtra's including Rain-x on your windshield. super dooper! the 2 lanes merge into one...it seems like a long line, but it really went fast. you get your receipt checked off by the attendant (like when ur exiting the Costco store) and they send you into the wash... 1) put your car in neutral 2) do not steer 3) do not put on your wipers! (ok that's not a rule, but i was tempted to when i couldn't see through the foam of soap and suds) i opened up the cover of the sunroof so we could see above us....all the squirting soap and water and brushes attacking my car was friggin exciting!!! i felt the same excitement as my kids...i can't wait to go back! i really wish every Costco had a car wash...it was really just so easy to get your car cleaned...no need for coupons...no need to get out of your car and find something to do for 30+ minutes....no need to wrangle children in/out of carseats. ....just kick it and do your Yelp review while your car is getting washed. In my opinion, this does a great job for the price (7.99 at the time of writing). Hours of operation are good as well. If you want to avoid water spots take a towel and detail dry it yourself afterwards in a parking space. Heads up there are times when it is a wait in line. Nothing major if you're used to the gas station lines. Also, sometimes the machines don't want to take my membership or debit card BUT I figured out if you warm them up by rubbing them in your hands before you use the machine it will take it no problem. Made an out of the way trip to check out this Costco car wash, since we'd never tried one out. This Costco is huge (has a gas station too) and the lines for the car wash were long but moving steadily. For about a 10 minute wait, we got one of the best drive-thru car washes for a mere $7.99. You prepay while you're waiting in line at the kiosk and make sure you have your membership card and a debit/Amex card. NO CASH. I heard from a Costco employee that if you're not satisfied with your wash, you can go through a second time at no additional cost. But the wash left the car pretty shiny with minimal water spots, even the windows/windshield. We'll be visiting again. read more

The car wash ripped the wiper arm / motor and broke the windshield of my wife's car, causing almost $1500 in damage. I watched the dash cam video of it, the rotating drum deal picked up the wiper arm, yanked it up and banged it down onto the window. The car wash detected an error and stopped. Instead of investigating the issue, the operator just started it up again, causing more damage. Once out of the wash, a guy with a clipboard was all ready with the claim form, like it happens often? After going through the wash on June 2, while wiping water excess in the lot next to the wash, I noticed small but very noticeable gouge in the paint on the very lowest spot on the right side rear passenger door. I was bummed because I take great care with my car but figured it happened in a parking lot somewhere. Six days later, June 8, went through Costco carwash again, and while wiping the car, came on more damage on on right side bumper. Really bad scrapes and paint gouges. Also a small protrusion like the bumper had been pushed in hard and a bolt or something under the bumper tried to push through. I knew this damage was not there before I went through the wash on June 8. (My husband & had just thoroughly checked the car 2 days before looking at the first damage. Plus i had gotten gas right before the wash and gas fill-up is on that same side. I would have seen this damage). Anyway, it was at this point I realized the damage had come from the carwash. No doubt in my mind. Went right over to the attendant to show him. He had the manager come out and I filled out a claim. Manager was polite but not overly concerned. I had a two hour break from work and decided to go to Costco to pick up a few non-perishable items we needed. I also was looking for a nearby drive-through car wash. When I did a search on Yelp I was surprised when a car wash was listed at Costco! I arrived about 9:40 am and there wasn't a line for the drive-through. Easy-peasy process but only the wash, no vacuum area. You need to stop at the pay kiosk (easy to miss if you're not familiar) to pay ($7.99) then the attendant will guide you through getting your vehicle on the track and connection. Afterwards I ventured into Costco to pick up my "few" items (always turns into more than just a few as most Costco customers know!), stopped outside at the food court for a bite to eat, made my way back to my car to unload my purchases. Have taken my truck through this Costco car wash many times before and it did an average job of cleaning. Took it through this week and about 5 seconds in, heard a loud clunk and my truck shook. Something clearly hit the side. Drive out and inspected the passenger door to find a nice ding and paint scrape. They called out the manager for me to file a claim, but the manger started saying things like "there's nothing that could have done that", and "no other car has had a problem". Basically accusing me of making it up. Filed the claim anyways that was sent to some 3rd party company in Missouri, they contacted me to tell me my claim was denied because they don't think the car wash did the damage. The claim company never even looked at my car, or the brush that is at the exact height as the damage in the car wash. They clearly have a canned denial they give to anyone. Somehow, I'm still entertained by being on the inside of the car as it magically drives through the soap and water. Maybe I'm just easily entertained. Visit Date: Multiple visits ever since it opened If I had joined Yelp earlier and written a review for the Costco Car Wash a while back, it probably would have been 5 stars. I loved that it was affordable, fairly quick to get through, did a decent job on the cleaning and even got my wheels clean from all the dirty brake dust. However, I recently had a piece of door trim come almost completely off and I noticed it right after going through the car wash. So while I'm not 100% certain it was the car wash's fault (no cameras running as I went through the car wash), I'm convinced this was only environment my 2005 Mazda 3 hatchback was exposed to that would have done this. The major bummer is before I could get it fixed, the piece fell off the car and they don't make them anymore since it was a special edition car! I met the owner of Rocky's Miatomotive in PB (see my review on his service) who helped me add some rubber plugs in the holes where the clips were in the door holding the trim on. This will now prevent water from getting in....but the water won't be coming from Costco's car wash, as I refuse to take anymore chances putting any car through it (and I can just hear my older brothers saying - "We told you NEVER put your car through a car wash!") I was told this was a "test" location for the Costco car wash and if things went well, they would add more across the city. I haven't seen any others added, have you?? read more

Got a car wash on 1/24/18. Wanted to do some shopping right after at Costco. After getting out of the car noticed damage to my car rear bumper two strips of rubbed white area. Went back and filed a claim. The person from their claims department in Illinois, Vickie, said they are denying my claim and the the burden of proof is on me. When asked if there are other people that had the same problem, she said no. After checking on Yelp, I noticed that there are other people that had the same thing happened. Super fast, good, efficient automated car wash. Don't expect any guys toweling off your car, you won't get that. Just swipe your card, drive in, drive out efficiency. If you have a Costco gift card, membership isn't even required. The techs there are always adjusting and making sure the machine isn't pulling off any wipers or mirrors. In fact, the rear wiper on my Touareg got pulled and the tech on site was very apologetic but it was only dislodged and not broken. A quick push into place and all is well.
