I've had nothing but excellent service and experience here the past few visits. This last visit was lackluster at best. I was stuck behind a pickup truck that needed a lot of services (which I obviously didn't realize prior to parking behind him on Bay 1). It literally took 45 minutes for them to conduct those services for this truck. Not only that, there was another car which arrived 15 minutes after me in the other line for Bay 2 which got serviced and finished before it even got to my turn. When I was waiting for my oil change, there was a lot of annoying upselling (but I get it, it's part of the business) but of course I was already annoyed with the wait which probably made it even more aggravating. Then the service tech mentioned about an option to tip after I had my card swiped. Pretty tacky. The only reason I'm giving this place 3-stars is the fact that my three other trips here were phenomenal. Not sure what happened today. read more

When they are good they are good, when they are bad they are frustratingly bad. The work has been solid but they do nothing to manage the bays and arrivals so if you luck out, great. You choose wrong and it's a 45+ minute mistake. They do free top offs which is great but you still have to wait even though it took them under 5 min to top me off... If they managed to figure out the wait issues this would be 5 stars but the number of times I've arrived before cars who ended up in the bay before me has finally driven me to write this. read more

Unbelievable place and ethic! I literally told them my oil was filled too high last time. They overfilled it again! I have no idea how they check to see what's the right amount of oil to put in, but I just see them pump that oil in. Maybe they just want to get the job done fast? Idk. I'm afraid having too much oil will cause a high pressure and mess up my engine seals, spark plugs, who knows what else. I showed him the coupon and thought everything was good. After I paid, I noticed the coupon didn't go through. I told him about it and he didn't even want to credit the coupon saying the code expired and it doesn't work anymore - bunch of baloney. Wouldn't you check?! Unbelievable service but at least I got credit at the end. People here seem shady! You've been warned! Never ever going back here again. read more

Went here for an oil change today. The staff are super nice and helpful. I normally get oil changed by my mechanic where it costs $50 but I was in the area so I thought I would give them the business . They charge a little over $90 for the same service but did give me a yelp discount. The primary issue I have is the cost of their air filters. Quoted $35 for a cabin filter which I declined since they cost about $13 retail. He quoted me $20 for the engine air filter which I agreed to just for simplicity then it shows up on my receipt when I get home for $25. Oh, and they also asked for a tip now. While I get that the economics of auto repair and oil changes is difficult these days, I just felt a little bit abused, especially the misrepresentation on the air filter price. I gave them a call figuring they would just credit me the $5. His story was the price on the filter went up... and you failed to tell the customer Assuming they wouldn't notice with all the totals and the subtotal and labor and parts on the receipt? Difficult to feel warm and fuzzy about this business, and will not be returning. read more

I've done oil changes here with multiple cars. You stay inside your car while they do the work. I got a new car which I brought in a few times, and I noticed the guy below was shaking the car excessively which had never happened before. I did the next oil change myself and saw he had damaged the aluminum splash shield/aero panel (I recall it's $300-400 from the dealer). Not damage from hitting road debris or parking curbs (which I hadn't), but clear tool gouge marks. Plus they lost multiple screws that hold it down. Their guy must not have been able to figure out that you remove the screws and then slide the splash shield to remove it. This was the only place that did my oil changes on this car, so they can't blame another shop. I'd say it's overpriced due to no discount for bringing your own better quality oil and filters. They pour your bottles into a container thing. Poor cleanliness by leaving this funnel/container sitting out to collect dust and dirt. Management plays games, gives the runaround, and pretends not to have functional email in 2024, so they're no help in resolving issues. I don't recommend. They deserve 0 stars for damaging my car and not owning up to it, but I'll fairly add 1 star for them not overtightening the drain plug and oil filter. read more

6/3/2025 update...upon returning home and inspecting my car, i noticed my tire valve caps were missing. The technician must have forgot to put them back on after inflating my tires. Also, my windshield wiper fluid tank cap was not seated properly nor was the engine air filter lid. I was disappointed to see these workmanship issues. read more

Terrible service at Oil Changers in Poway, San Diego. I do not remember the name of the technician that helped me, but right when I arrived I was not given any menu on what kind of oil change I could be getting. I was automatically charged for the highest quality synthetic oil without given any notice about the other options, when I literally have the most basic Toyota ever. The technician kept trying to get my to change other things acting like it was best to do when I knew better than to get all of that changed when they looked fine. Even tried manipulating me in to giving him a tip by saying "If you do not want to tip me in cash you can do it on the iPad." Noted that just because I am a girl with a cute car with stickers on it they will try to take advantage of you and charge you as much as possible. Only giving it two stars because my oil was changed I guess. Do not come here! read more

Been bringing 2 cars here for 5+ years, but I guess I'm done now. Normally pretty solid, in and out fairly quick. I recently moved further away but figured might as well continue coming here so made the drive out. The guy was someone I hadn't seen there before. When I first showed him the $10 Yelp check in discount, he denied it saying it wasn't theirs. I had to point out on my phone that it says right there Poway Oil Changers. Then he said OK. Time to pay, he hands me the payment device and I asked him is the coupon in and he takes the device back and my credit card. I am totally stupid for allowing to continue. He does the transaction, he gives me the receipt to sign and I ask again is the coupon in here? And he says oh no sorry, I'll give you $15 off next time. Then I said will I still be able to get the $10 check in discount next time also and he said no. So that means I'm still down $5 for his mistake. Why should I be punished? If it was an honest mistake fine, but he seemed determined not to give me the discount for some reason. And the payment device had the audacity to ask for a tip? No. Definitely not worth the drive, I can go to closer places. Previous employees were better to deal with. read more
