Service is fast, staff is friendly. Been there at least weekly for a year and I am consistently impressed even when very busy.

While it may fit into the "BIG BOX STORE" category, Home Depot is my go to store for many reasons. To name a few: - It is huge and invariably you will find what you are after (NOT fruit and vegetables OK!) - Excellent hours (till 9pm during the week) which is often a lifesaver when the work days are just too full already. - The staff are mostly 'lifers', that is have been in the trade for many years and they tend to know what you are on about and where to find it. one of my pet peeves is staff attempting to give you smart advice and miss-directing you to Isle 20 when what you want is in Isle 3! - HOWEVER when it comes to lumber, where I spend most of my time, I often get frustrated in finding pieces that match my standards. My standards are set moderately high as the lumber I use will largely be on display rather than hid behind drywall. So finding planks that are not warped, seriously knotted, suffering from cracks, split ends or are damaged by the forklift can be a laborious task particularly when talking 2x12x16'. My 'find and keep rate' can be as low as 1 in 10 where as with studs as high as 8 in 10. Not to end on a sour note, their rentals and nursery sections are good, price matching has yet to be a problem . . . . all that is missing is that free popcorn!

Our Samsung washer top loader broke down after 6 weeks. 1700. plus dollars and I have no washing machine for Christmas. They said a repair man would call in 24 hrs. No call and we are sitting here with a broken expensive washing machine. Buy from Costco where they back their products or Sears where they have their own repair people. Better still do not buy any washing machine with electronic digital controls. So unhappy with Home Depot.

The lady in woman's fashion offered to price check for me when I couldn't find the self scanner. I liked that they had Free People. My favourite line of clothing. But I didn't find anything to buy. I'm an autistic, young woman with an anxiety disorder and I was told that the MAC counter was always a safe place for me to come to. I made friends with Shanel, one of the employees at the counter, who still to this day is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. Fast forward to January 2nd, this year, I came to the counter to look at products, post Christmas, and was confronted by the store manager, Nadja, whom asked to speak to me. She humiliated me and discriminated against my disability of being autistic and kicked me from the store and told me I was no longer welcome unless I was making a purchase and directly leaving. I came back the next day to return items I had bought from the store cause I wanted no affiliation with The Bay and the entire time I was surveilled by five employees. I felt like I was being treated like a criminal. And for what, always being kind and respectful to all the staff, never shoplifting, but the second I have a disability, I'm the most horrible person that needs to be removed from the store? Absolutely unbelievable.

I rarely complain, however this is absolutely ridiculous 1) I ordered a thermostat, and you would "think" they would know to ask if required a gasket. No big deal.(really) 2) I brought in 2-6volt batteries I had purchased about a year ago, and they were consuming way more voltage than required. Took both in to get charged. When I got them back same problem. They are still under warranty however they will not replace them. They said that they couldn't verify that they weren't holding a charge. I made extra effort and brought in a 110v fan that is 40w to confirm they weren't holding a charge. Nope wouldn't do it so after a little education on batteries I realized there are 3 stages to charging 1) bulk 2) absorption 3) float You would think their training would cover the basics 3) purchased an alternator and was installing it in my van. Now it was installed and needed a serpentine belt to fit. The service guy jumped in to find one that would fit, since I had removed the air conditioning unit. He looked up the part and cross referenced it! Came back with a belt that wasn't even close. So I went back to find one the would work, until I realized the belts were he got there from was lawn and garden. The belts are to run the pro's on tractors, not a serpentine automotive belt. This guy was being ignorant became I was trying to sort out my battery situation. Deliberately... he's the head of service department and I would think know better. How does he keep his job? There are a two guys that are great. Travis who is new and eager to help and Josh who I never got the chance to deal with. The manager gave me back the alternator without have to pay for the $10 core charge after I spent 12hrs trying to make the new alternator work in there parking lot. To no avail. I understand why the have such a low rating. Clearly not all CT's are the same. Highly recommend they train their staff on their job!

My father has also blatantly been accused of being a thief by staff at this location. It is extremely intimidating to be noticeably followed around a store, even by a member of staff. My father has back issues and for all my life has grabbed a cart even if he might not fill it. Today he was followed by a female member of staff. When he noticed her following him he became intimidated and felt forced to put things into the cart. He then made a call to my mom to ask about a shelf, only after this call did the staff member back down a bit. He decided to get the shelf and get out of there instead of finishing his shop in this hostile environment. Please do better, customers will spend more when they don't feel threatened to endure a false shoplifting accusation.

I brought my car in for 3 things, oil change, power steering concerns and a possible leak in my windshield washer fluid box as it wasn't holding fluid for long. They got me in right away and told me that they would do an inspection and check everything. Picking up my car, Bill (I think that was his name) told me that everything came back and looked ok. I asked about my washer fluid container and power steering and was told that everything was OK. I was shown the inspection checklist and everything had been checked off as OK, except for the air filter which they did not replace. Back at home I tried my windshield washer fluid and nothing came out. It was exactly as I had dropped it off. They did not fix it and sent me home under the impression it was OK - meaning working. I am not sure what else on the list of checked items was checked off as OK for convenience. This kind of service is unacceptable to me. I went back in the following day, talked to the GM and they would not give me my money back. The GM offered me a jug of windshield washer fluid and I said what good is it if it just leaks out. Not the kind of establishment that puts it's customers first.
