This store is one of this towns best Charity Shops. I've scored countless times, just with a quick walk through and something caught my eye. I've found high-end fitness wear, like-new jeans, brand new bikinis (tags and hygiene tape still in place), quality art supplies, even a classic Rocky Mountain bike, with new Conti tires! The volunteer staff is friendly - if you're a polite and respectful shopper. I'd avoid the Saturdays where they sell the Window Items. People get pushy in the line, are rather creepy and kind of manipulative. I had to do it for a friend one day - never again LOL! Other than that - GREAT place to find excellent stuff. read more

Everybody is treated with dignity here, you don't have high prices or intrusive discriminating employees such as vastly displayed at our Courtenay Value Village .. we see often social workers, people who work downtown and families snagging deals with nearly new affordable items If you are ever in a crisis TGTBT is happy to help! years ago, I directed a woman freezing in the snow by tapping on their window after hours they gave her a coat, mittens, toque and you're treated with dignity, thank you TGTBT for the memories and hopefully your new building will bring even more! read more

I love this thrift store. Nice women's clothes/shoes and if you find children's and baby clothes here they are super cheap!

It is a waste of time going there now, things look pretty out of date, some things are dirty, and the staff tend to be either nosy or act afraid of you, so rather serving you they decide to take a break as you are about to buy something, so you have to wait for the next staff person to sort herself out at the cash register before you are served and they take so long to process a transaction, I sometimes think they do that on purpose so you feel angry and react in the way they have stereotyped you, a low income shopper. The manager assumed that I was unemployed and I found she was very rude and condescending and was over explaining everything as if I had an IQ of a 12 year old. Sometimes you can get a good deal there, but the process is often degrading and sometimes the good deal has something wrong with it which you notice after you wear it a couple of times, such as the Velcro in a sleeve is coming undone. The store culture seems to be above the customer. Often they have DVD players without the remote, and you can usually get a better deal at value village especially in winter coats and jackets where some of the woman's coats are so out of date that you could be mistaken as a homeless person if you wear one. Avoid. Also I went to look for a gym bag and they were hanging near the office door, and the manager who is quite big came out and walked in between me and the bags so I felt that I had to justify what I was doing, and I said I was looking for a gym bag, and she said that is all they had, which was obvious, and I didn't need to be told. The store is very depressing and you leave feeling depressed. So I went to Value Village which is also very depressing and at times demeaning though I did find a gym bag and no one pushed me out of the way while I was looking through them. read more
