This is the main reason I have a Costco membership and it's worth it. It's a lot cheaper than anywhere else around that area. I go in the mornings and anytime before 8 am there's hardly any lines. The hose can also reach the other side of your car, so if there's any open spot just take it regardless of which side you need to fill up. The place is always clean. read more

Fueling up the rental car before returning the car to Long Beach Airport... Costco Gasoline at Lakewood Mall is just about 9 minutes away (3.3 miles) from Long Beach Airport. Even though it's further away from the airport than the Signal Hill location (1.5 miles /8 minutes away), Lakewood Mall's Costco Gasoline opens at 5am! The price was $3.99 for regular gasoline on 5-8-23 and $4.19 for premium gasoline on 5-8-23. What a deal! Next time I leave "the continent" to go home to the Aloha State, I'll use this Lakewood Mall location! Note: there were two pumps per line and no wait at 5:30am! read more

My boyfriend and I frequent this place to put gasoline for both our vehicles on a weekly basis. It can vary on how busy it gets throughout different times of the day. The earlier you go the better, but if you wait until evening time it gets busier. If you go at night right before closing it's less busy and much faster. Prices are economic and always stable. read more

Smaller footprint Costco Gasoline station: expected savings in prices, patience required. Setup: It's a smaller foot print gas station, with 4 islands each with 2 units to allow for 16 pumps dispensing at the same time. The place for lines is what makes it complicated, and this one isn't a very good set-up...with space for 5 cars to line up behind each lane (8 lanes and there were more than 40 cars waiting at any given time). There are multiple ways to enter the staging area, causing a lot of people to have to make decisions on when to merge, asking people for help. And unlike a road, people don't drive away never to be seen again...you will have to face the people you piss off...so...people were behaving...even when they finally got to pump their gas. Nobody was cleaning their trunk after they pumped their gas, like I've seen at other Costco's (it's some people's human nature: if you wait a long time, when it's finally your turn, you are going to take your sweet time since you waited so long). That being said, no real reason to come back to this location. The one at Signal Hill is much better laid out. read more

The gas station has a cool exterior design but maybe because of this they cumulated a lot of traffic, cars moving bumper to bumper, each row has to pumps, and they were extremely slow, if you're here during lunch hour, expect to be in line at least 15 minutes or more, just thought it might be convenient for you to get gas and shopping right next to each other, but it was a disaster :( also the gas prices were not the lowest one either :( read more

NGL, this has to be one of the weirdest Costco gas stations. There's like 5 entrances coming in all directions and if you're lucky, you'll get in one that's "shorter" but there really should be someone directing it. PROS - totally one of the cheapest in the area CONS - it's located at the lakewood mall, where it can get really congested. They have two pumps per line. BUT at the rate of gas prices? Totally worth it. Honestly, i rarely see an attendant, so let alone someone directing traffic. LOL read more

Great gas and great prices. The gas is almost a dollar cheaper than other gas stations but you have to be a member and wait on those massive lines. The only thing that really bothers me is the machines only take the Costco associated credit card or a Visa card (debit or credit). Good luck if you have Master Card or Amex card. read more

Always good cheap gas price compared other gas places. On weekends and high peak times, the lines can get super long that extends out. Go when it's almost closing or when it opens if it's on the weekend or even weekdays. They just installed sensor chip reading credit card today. So it's easier to hover your credit card. read more

I can see why folks wait because Costco definitely has reasonable prices. Although it can get pretty busy, they do run pretty quickly. There are many stalls throughout the gas station. Costco gas is the best. It is cheaper than the majority. Also, I like that there is only one way in and one way out. It forces all cars to go in the same direction. So you don't have people backing in or arguing over a pump. It is a perfect system. There are often very long lines. I try to go on less crowded days and times. Any Costco location I go to, there's never a complaint but there's always room for improvement. This location can improve a little by installing available gas pump sensors. Depending on how the driver in from of you parks, it's not always easy to see if the next two pumps ahead off the car in front you are available. Other than that it's a beautiful location. read more

Lines are long but worth the wait when you're saying anywhere from $.12-.$69+ per gallon on gas. Costco is always less expensive than their competitors. I fill up with premium gas every 3/4 days so with an average savings of $6.00 per tank ( anyone who knows me knows I am horrible in math ) per week..... THAT IS HUGE! QUALITY: I haven't had any issues using this gas but I have heard stories. Hopefully they are just that though. PRICE: is it just so much cheaper than other gas stations. PUMPS: The gas pumps here are nice. They are in good condition and I've never had an issue with any of them. I have visited this costco gas location a few times and have had a good experience. I cannot comment on how much of a bargain the fuel price values are since it is a club membership deal (It's suppose to be lower since you are paying an annual fee). However, the service attendant is always attentive in customer needs. The only con about this place is the long line you will encounter when you come. The only time there was not a line was when they first opened, from noon and on there is always a long wait. Nevertheless, it is a good place to fill up. I will be a returning customer as long as I continue to be a costco member. read more

Costco hands down always has the greatest deals for gas prices. I do come to the Lakewood one out of convenience, but prefer going to the Cypress location, more. The Lakewood location has plenty of pumps, but it is located in a terrible spot.... meaning when it gets packed, cars would overflow into the little street you turn into to go to Best Buy. I've dealt with less jerks at this location... I've always had people cut across lanes to get in front of me in the Signal Hill location, and unfortunately, the Cypress location. read more

Great location. But can get very very busy. Long lines at times. You could be waiting for like 10-15 min at most... remember that the pumps stretch to go on either side of your car. So don't worry about getting in the right line...just get into one. You can only make a right at the exit. That sucks but it's not a deal breaker. The prices are usually great. Lowest in the area. Only 87 and 91. Location is always clean and pumps all work all the time. I never seen one broken or dirty. Very well kept station. Lots of room. read more
