Since I was at Costco to try the new Calzone at the food court, I might as well stop for gas, since Costco is the cheapest around, whatever area you're in. The lines are a bit long if you don't get here super early or late like 30 minutes before closing. The gas stations all close 1 hr after the store closes and open at 6am. I like that they have those green or red indicators on the gas islands that tell you what pumps are occupied. I like that the hoses are long enough that it doesn't matter what side of the car your fuel filler side is on, the hose will stretch across to the opposite side. I just wish there were stuff to clean your windshield, but I guess they don't put that stuff out so people don't take longer to fill up and hold up the line. The best thing besides the price, is if you have one of the Costco Citi credit cards, (they're free), when you buy gas at Costco, you get 5% back rebate, that's like if gas is $5.00 a gal, you get 25 cents off per gallon! The card scanners always work well the first time you swipe, not like those lousy off brand stations, where I wouldn't trust even using a credit card at! read more

Everyone knows it gets busy here with long lines but you can't beat the prices. I try to avoid peak hours and try to go super early in the morning or before closing. Helpful that they added the lights so you can see which gas pump is vacant. Gasoline prices have been rising and falling in recent months! Costco Gasoline is rising slower than other gas stations when the price rises and falling simultaneously when the gasoline prices are soaring. This Costco gas station in South Sacramento is the same as any other Costco gas station I have used. Always super busy because of the reasonable prices. The traffic at the entrance of this gas station is shared with the Costco store. They're very close to each other, and the line is out to the street sometimes. Luckily, the lines are long but moving quickly. The average wait time is 10 to 15 minutes at the busiest time. Try to come here early in the morning or 15 minutes before closing time to avoid the long wait if possible. It was odd to have come here and find the station almost empty! Probably because we came at an opportune time when people were at work on a Friday at around 10:30 am. But it did look and feel odd. I normally come here to find a long line at each of the fueling aisles. Not that I'm complaining... But when we checked the gasoline prices, this location had a cheaper price than the one at Rancho Cordova, so we carried gas in this location and drove home to return our purchase at Rancho. Cheap gas, bad location. This station is located at the perpetually crowded South Sacramento Costco. Accessing the station from Highway 99 is a nightmare requiring several complicated turns and lots of traffic, although entering from Northbound 99 is much easier. The pumps and station are clean and efficient. All the SUV and trucks in the region fill up here for the cheap gasoline, so prepare for a wait. If you are traveling, I recommend the Lodi Costco station down the highway for an easier experience. Otherwise, pack a lunch! read more

Costco Gas price is always lower than competitor gas stations. Ever since they opened the new Costco in EG, I've noticed the lines at this location has not been overcrowded. Every hose is long so you don't have to worry about which side your gas tank is on. Also, there's 3 pumps on each side of the stations so the lines go by fairly quickly. There is also always a friendly Costco employee there to assist if anyone needs help or is having any issues.
