Everything was great till leaving the exit. The check out ticket checker person was so rude. I called the complaint department. I am still so embarrassed because I reacted towards the check out woman. The cashier told me to fill up my bag because my cart was full. My husband was pushing the cart and had the receipt. He was walking slower than me and I forgot to stop . She yelled and demanded I come back! Then demanded I move stuff in my bag so she could check it. She could have moved it but demanded I do it. It was heavy ! I only had two hands. Like I was a thief. (Big scene) Spent almost $500.00. To spend money on a membership card to have the privilege to shop there, I am not sure I will renew my card membership, when it is time to renew. Never encountered such an upsetting exit before. Yes she has a job to do but that was beyond rude. Otherwise have never had a problem at the Guelph outlet. read more

Writing this review with regard to the customer service. Around Christmas, my mother decided to buy me a Costco gift card, as I often buy movies and gas there. After a whirlwind of shopping, Mom got home with the intent of wrapping gifts, but found no more to the gift card than its receipt. Panicked, she searched high and low for it, to no satisfaction. Her conclusion was that it must have fallen out of her purse on the way back to her car. As we celebrate Christmas a little late due to work schedules, Mom returned to Costco on Boxing Day (brave woman) and explained her predicament to Renée and Abraham, at the verge of tears at points. The two of them worked diligently to track the purchase of the card and to see if there were any purchases made with it. Luckily, there hadn't been, and Abraham informed my mother that he would coordinate everything to make sure she could get a new gift card; it would take a couple of days, since it had to go through head office in Ottawa, but he would keep in touch. In the meantime, the original card turned up (wrapped and under the tree...no idea how it got there!), and the day after we found it, Mom received a message on her voicemail from Abraham letting her know head office had done its thing and a new card was waiting for her. She showed up the next day and Abraham was there, and though he was helping some other folks as well, he made his way over to my mother to make sure everything had worked out. She's seen Abraham a few times since, and he's given a smile and a wave to my mother each time. Abraham and Renée are credits to the Costco corporation, which has set (and exceeded) some pretty high standards for customer service. Kudos to them both. read more

I used the auto tire service for the first time. I chose Guelph over the Kitchener location because Kitchener is just a Kazoo. I checked in 1 hr before my 3pm appointment and was advised about 1.5hr, if someone's late for their appointment they will just slot me in. Right at 3:30 I did get my call to pick up my keys. Here is the tragic moment, I was 3rd or 4th in line to pick up my keys...and it took 35min for me to get to the service desk, behind me was a queue of 8-10 people. For some reason they only had two people assisting customers and the two people were running every customer in order that they arrive except if you had an appointment to drop off you could skip the queue. I hope this location considers changing up priorities, maybe dedicating one person to do the appointment sign up and tire purchase, while the other person is for intake and outgoing customers who simply need to drop off keys or pick up. Then second person can step in and do transactions if no queue. Overall there seems to be a lack of team work behind the counter. My struggle was the time and my senior parent was with me- I would have left my senior parent sitting in the food service area if we knew it would take SO LONG. As a bonus, the shop does note the tread condition for the tires they remove and store in your car so you know how it is and when you need to change it. I got brand new summer tires on May 2, they were able to pull my winter tires off, pull the rim from my summer in my trunk and load it up, balance and the works- and load my winters in- so basically a tire change with my purchase. It's appreciated. My experience may have been also associated with a Saturday visit- I guess if I went on a weekday during business hours my experience might be very different. read more

We bought a washer/dryer pair recently from online. They were delivered and set up. Totally satisfied, nice job.

Was greeted fairly rudely by staff members, they seemed to be in a rush to check my costco membership card even though there wasn't a line. A simple "hi there, welcome" would've sufficed in a monotone voice but there was disdain evident in their voice. Staff seems to be in bad spirits. read more

This review is towards the tire centre. I think these guys need to be taught to slow down and pay attention to detail. I bought 4 blizzaks for my car and all of them leaked . I tried to get back in for a repair and was not exactly given the gold star of customer service ! I was informed that I must of ran over something !!!!! wow ... thats why all 4 tires were leaking . I gave up and proceeded to a local tire dealer where he fixed the problem cleand all 4 wheels so the beads would not leak ( what is that black GOOP crap that you use ?? ) .....and as an added bonus re balanced my tires that were out by 4-6 oz on each .....explaining why the car vibrated at hwy speeds like an old Harley. Cost me $ 80 but I don't have to fill my tires every 3rd day The good deal I received on the tires was negated by the fact I had to pay more money somewhere else to fix what your inexpierenced installers did read more

I visited this Costco location today with my mom to do some much needed shopping. The service is the best I have ever received at any Costco in the past. They were so helpful and friendly at the check out, and offered to help us to our car with our carts. We declined but when we got outside, a very nice employee helped us unload everything into our cars. This was really going the "extra mile" because it was -20 degrees today. They certainly didn't have to help us with our items, we did have a lot but we would have been fine on our own. The service extended to us is something that I feel deserves recognition. I will definitely make the drive to Guelph again!! As an added bonus, they have a Costco gas station here too. As good as it gets! read more

I don't know if this is the place to address this issue, but I couldn't find anyplace to write to Costco Guelph Store directly, I am a senior and have appreciated the stores allowing us a special time to shop. (8 to 9) This morning, (Sept. 24/20) however, when my sister (also a senior) -both of us are in our 80s - went to Costco at 8:00 we were surprised to see it not only shut but a long line up of all ages. Since there were some items we were only able to get in Costco we decided to wait it out. It did open at 8:45 which helped. However, the shopping experience was extremely stressful. Within ten minutes it was crowded and people were noticeably annoyed if we took longer to look at something or not move our cart out of the way fast enough. I would like to appeal to Guelph Costco to please, please give us one morning a week or every two weeks or even once a month. Probably the senior hour didn't bring in the revenue you want, so I understand it is better for business to not designate a senior shopping time. I was able to pick them out quickly and they were ready in 6 calendar days despite being told it would take up to 7 business days! The customer service for Costco Guelph is quite good and pleasant until you start asking them a question. For instance due to my diet restrictions, i need to know the ingredients source in their home baked products. i have tried it so many times but never had been lucky. First, you wait for hours to get info from their manager who is pretty much busy or not available or on vacation. Still keeping myself calm, i have tried calling several times and have left messages too. Surprisinglyh, i have never received a response. i believe that Costco management do not feel it is their responsibility to respond. i do understand that 90 - 95% of Costco customers pick up baked goods even without checking the label but for health, religious restrictions or self conscious people, ingredient source in the label matters. Well, such a small % of business loss does not impact Costco now but this could be a start. read more

I purchased a pair of eye glass frames in Oct 2016, not noticing that the receipt contained no description. My insurance company naturally wanted a receipt that indicated what it was. Costco refused to oblige me. All large stores, including Costco, have SKU numbers & a brief description of your item on their receipts, an easy process for them, yet the Manager of Costco Optical, knowing that I would have to return the item, flatly refused to provide any type of descriptive receipt for insurance purposes.
