My mother is 93 and wanted to come because of an advertisement she saw. The first time she came was…read morea couple weeks ago with another family member since I was out of town. My mom was frustrated and nervous and according to the other family member was anxiety ridden. I was told they were not patient and mom chose to leave. I set a second appointment to take her myself because she wanted to try again. I will also admit I am skeptical already of a hearing aid business with not a single audiologist. However, its my mothers choice and she makes all her own decisions. I was simply her support system. When we went into the treatment room, he was continually questioning her insurance. He kept asking and saying insurance may not cover if she had gotten any within 5 years. I told him let's not worry about the insurance (she is able to pay regardless of insurance) and just determine the hearing loss and if they can help her. He said to me "It's my office, I own it and we will do it my way." Since I did not actually need to be there and would have preferred an audiologist, I stood and told him and my mom that I would wait in the lobby. When I stood up to leave the room he said "I don't think I can serve your family. My mom stayed behind and didn't hear any of what was said. A few minutes passed and he started to work with her. I heard him ask her how they would do the treatment without me in the room. My mom is completely capable and is quite intelligent so she told him she made all her own choices. I was completely shocked at how condescending he was and could hear it all from the lobby. A lobby with another patient who could hear as well! After some time, he came to the lobby and apologized to me. I do appreciate the apology and that he admitted he could not help her type of hearing loss which we had already been told, this was my moms hail Mary. I question still, his concern about insurance. We were prepared to pay regardless of insurance status which I attempted to explain. I am not sure of his motivation, but at the time, I felt he was determining how expensive of equipment he could recommend before ever even testing her hearing. Overall I don't think I would recommend.

I received one of your "Ghost Writer" emails come in for service on your current hearing aids. So…read moregoing in I knew I would be hit with the sales pitch. I dropped down $6000 on my current pair of BTE's, also knowing that even though there is supposedly a return period the audiologist was going to steer me away from that. These are my third pair of hearing aids, second from Sandia. I don't need to explain the fitting process but weekly I go in and have them adjusted, brutal process. However the receptionist Joyce cant appreciate the fact I don't want to talk to her in more than she wants to talk to me. Now for the specifics, the clear tube connecting the microphone to the ear mold is too short, so it interferes with my glasses and falls off my ears constantly, the left ear mold does not seat properly causing constant feedback. This is embarrassing to me and annoying others, these BTE's have great technology but it's not perfect and I understand that. The fact I was never given options makes no sense as I said I've worn two sets of hearing aids for ten years I know my body. Finally it got so tedious going in weekly that I was to rely on my app to solve my problems of adjustment, doesn't quit seem right.
