Good luck in the future to Drs Pardhan and Alexander (husband and wide team) - both excellent dentists. -------- I cant believe it - that didnt hurt a bit! At least not until I had to pay the bill... It seems that the cost of dentistry has gone up. Good thing it's regulated! This dentistry is located in an old converted house on the main drag in Carp, and nearly directly across from the Carp Fair Grounds. Next door to one side is an ice cream shop and the other side is an excellent bakery (Alice's); there is nothing like community support!! LOL! But seriously, who loves going to the dentist? I do not. Like most people I am adverse to pain, especially when it is inflicted upon me, and in particular in the area of my mouth. I was not looking forward to this visit! However, I needed a good cleaning, and I have to admit even to myself, that this was a breeze! It was so relaxing that I could have fallen asleep in the patient's chair! This dental hygienist was excellent! I only wish I had caught her name, as this was the first time she had cleaned my teeth. Dr. Pardan and his wife and dental partner, Dr. Alexander, both have done a lot of work on my teeth, such as rebuilding a broken tooth, and pulling another one which had been causing me problems. I have been well taken care of by this team. (Note: Dr. Alexander has been away raising the children over the last few years.) They operate a clean and modern facilty. This event was so good that I just had to say something positive here.

Recently I went on a hunt to look for a good dentist in Ottawa and I happen to luck out since its…read moreclose to my work and the best one I've ever had (out of 4). I am of course speaking off Susan Daftary and her amazing staff, at the Terry Fox Dental Centre. I was having sharp pain in one of my tooth so I walked into the clinic and I got an examination the same day. Two days later Dr Daftary was playing tug o' war with my wisdom tooth and well the tooth lost. Dr Daftary is very polite and takes her time to explain everything to the patient. As far as skill goes, she is absolutely amazing. I felt no pain in getting my wisdom tooth removed and I was back at work 10 minutes after my procedure. She is also very knowledgeable and will go out of her way to accommodate the patient. I wish I could say I won't be going back but I think that's just wishful thinking. At least I know that when I return, I'll be in good hands.

Then, my daughter started losing teeth faster than the goon on your local hockey team. She also started experiencing pain in her gums. So, we asked around and were told by local parents about Dr. Kevin Rattray. Sure, there are lots of dentists in Ottawa. But, were any taking new patients? Luckily, Dr. Rattray was. I was able to get an appointment right away. I took my daughter in and turns out she had an abcess. It was a complicated procedure involving taking moulds, injections, x-rays, a tooth being pulled and the insertion of a metal space-holding device. I felt a little nervous on behalf of my little seven-year-old. But, Dr. Rattray and his nurse were very good with her and helped her through the ordeal with humour and caring. I only wish they had a full-time receptionist to answer calls. Every time I call, I end up leaving a voice mail and then play phone tag trying to get back in touch with the office. Otherwise, it is a pretty good dentist office to go if you have kids.
