Our toddler had a blast! She particularly enjoyed spraying the firehose. We've had firefighters and paramedics out to my grandparents home a number of times. They always did a wonderful job quickly assessing the situation, keeping the family calm, and transporting them. They're a great asset to the neighborhood and our junior firefighter can't wait until next year's event.

Fire stations in Elk Grove are part of the Elk Grove Community Service District. Fire stations not only house fire trucks but all the men a women fire fighters. They also give educational tours ( online registration required), do school visits, CPR classes, Safety Surrender Baby Program, and even give Santa a ride through the neighborhood in December. I felt they cared about my well-being. Not 2, but all of them made me feel at ease. They checked my BP, and oxygen and heart. After making sure that I wasn't in immediate danger. They offered to take me to er if I all want feeling well. It was heartburn, btw. When that arrived, I was panicked and extremely scared. They gave me advice on heartburn and assured me my vitals and heart test, and it wasn't a heart attack. Gave me tips on what to take for heartburn. I just felt like they cared. This was on Saturday evening, January 28th . Crunch fitness elk grove. I didn't feel like any of them were racist. They all gave exceptional care.

Kloss park play structure is just under a mile walk from Pederson Park. I say this because this…read morespot has a bathroom but Pederson does not but that spot has a zip lip :-) Kloss play structure has a bit of shade and the "big kid " play area can still accommodate some smaller kids (keep an eye on them though due to the height - but what little doesn't love a good ramp). The little kid play area is smaller than Pederson. There are two shade covered table areas in this park one close and one further away from these play structures. Quite a few other single tables and bbqs throughout and lots of trees. this park has baseball field and lots of lawn area. Restrooms are pretty decent the times I've needed to use it. Not too bad - better than a porta potty. Conveniently located functional drinking fountain for humans and dogs. If you wanted to get a coffee and meet up with friends - park at Starbucks by Bel Air and walk a little over a mile to this playground and back for a beautiful exercise experience.

It was only recently we attended if we weren't away traveling as my wife loves a huge festival that entails lots of walking, live music, shopping & food. It's an ideal place at autumn time with giant pumpkin weigh-ins. This year 2025 the top pumpkin weighed 2,147 pounds! Brian Werner from Gridley California won. This year they also had a scarecrow contest, pumpkin recipe contest, lil pumpkin cupcake & youth art contests. There were also multiple stages of entertainment & the pumpkin regatta happened on Sunday. We didn't arrive here until after an hour of opening yet they had plenty of parking at 20 dollars a pop. We did spend several hours here so it was worth our time. Also they do have kids rides & activities for them! That tractor tram ride for kids only looked so fun! It is really a family friendly event! This year we bought their Mediterranean food: chicken gyro & lamb salad. Service was good. My chicken gyro however was meh. Yet my wife loved her tasty spicy lamb salad as she ate the entire entree bc she was hangry! That value on that salad was worth it to her! My wife even purchased her favorite chocolate dipping' dots bc people kept walking past us eating them! We also observed some people dressed in costumes & lots of furry friends on leashes. An ideal place for people watching too! The weather was the most perfect right after a stormy week! Not hot as the temperature was nice & cool! Last Saturday it was odd though as the internet was down so they encouraged to bring cash! Cash is King! Now if you missed this year's festival make it a point to attend next year. It usually occurs the first weekend in October. You will be highly entertained. Seriously. My wife thought her pictures she captured were exceptionally pretty bc of the beautiful pumpkin orangey colors especially against the greenery background, bright sun & blue pond. It does make you appreciate our lovely sunny California weather. We are truly blessed.

The giveaways were abundant and added a special touch to the day. One of the most unique and exciting activities was the pumpkin races on the water--such a creative and entertaining sight! The people were incredibly friendly, which only enhanced the warm, family-friendly atmosphere. Despite the hot day and the lengthy parking lines, I found free parking in a nearby neighborhood, which was a big plus. The great family vibes made it all worthwhile. The Elk Grove Pumpkin Patch is a fantastic place for families to have fun and make lasting memories. I can't recommend it highly enough!

My older children who are now in grade school miss it so much and have fond memories and life-long friends who they see at annual alumni events. We had mixed luck with his teachers, and I was left wanting a closer relationship with the person spending a bulk of the day with my child. From the moment I met Ms. Taz in her classroom for a tour, I felt an instant sense of calm and connection. My son felt comfortable enough to start interacting with the classroom materials. Not to mention, it felt pretty amazing to see a South Asian woman of color (just like me) leading the classroom. Over the last 2 years, I've been able to see my son gain independence, social skills, and learn how to be respectful. Ms. Taz is always available to answer any concerns or questions that I may have. I feel comfortable approaching her, and appreciate the small and diverse classroom size which fosters a close relationship between my son and other students in the classroom. As a newish parent, it has also been comforting to finally have a small community of parent friends that we spend time with and can depend on. I can't wait till our baby girl is old enough to be an LLM student.
