It was so colorful because all the shops and cafes were painted different colors. Our favorite place in Kinsale was the Milk Market Cafe. We enjoyed their outdoor seating on a pedestrian street. Another traveler in our group recommended the Apple Cake. It was divine! The apple slices were cut very thin and it was topped with delightful crunchies. The crust was light and soft. The apple cake was like a wonderful tart and was served warm with a scoop of home-made vanilla ice cream...oh my! It was SO good! Eating it on the outdoor seating, on a perfect 70 degree sunny day, was equally delightful. Don't miss the little shops nearby and definitely dont miss the Apple Cake at "Milk Market Cafe" in Kinsale!

Hubby had the tall mug of steaming milk placed in front of him with an enormous block of chocolate on a stick - like a huge square lollipop. The idea was to stick it in the milk and stir until melted. There was a choice of white, milk or dark if I remember correctly (definitely more than just the white chocolate option). He absolutely LOVED it and declared it to be the best he had ever had - check out the photos. The ONLY reason they didn't get a 5 star was due to the lack of seating. We had to wait a while to get a seat and I'm not sure what they could do about that, but if you only have a limited amount of time in Kinsale, you may just want to pop your head in first to see if there is anything available.

The food was mostly average. We expected much more from this highly rated restaurant. The manager never came over to asked about our experience.. The wait staff seemed very stressed. We didn't ask but there was no adjustment offered to our bill and we ordered 3 rounds of drinks. Not worth the wait. Not worth the money. A big disappointment.
