Staff was attentive. We arrived for an early supper at 4:00 pm, so the restaurant wasn't too busy. Atmosphere was comfortable, offering some much-needed air conditioning after touring Stonehenge and the Salisbury Cathedral on a very hot day. Staff sensed our discomfort from the heat and immediately provided us with a carafe of water and a glass filled with extra ice. We had the olives and monkey bread appetizers. We enjoyed each. My husband had the Cosy smash burger and I had the flat iron steak. Both were excellent. We were too full after our meals to try any dessert. read more

Food was varied, inclusive, and flavorful but portions were small to my American eyes and fairly expensive. Ambiance was warm as was the temperature, which was great on a cold rainy day. All of the background music really wants to be Amy Winehouse. Service changed dramatically around 1530 from terrifically slow and inattentive to much better and friendly. I'd go back. read more

We went with the 6 of us to Cosy Club during a short break in Salisbury. Very attentive staff, despite a table of 20 close by, great atmosphere and good food. Nice sharing starters, great mains, the burgers are lovely, and some nice desserts as well. A very good experience. read more

My sisters alcohol took a lot longer then expected. Cola was good. Sounds glass being dropped into other glass bottles other then that it's fine. read more

My husband and I were excited to try this place since we heard some good reviews about it. Unfortunately, we did not have the best experience. We walked in hungry and left hungry. This is what happened: as soon as we walked in the hostess told us the restaurant was full and busy and that we would have to eat at the bar. As she told us this my eyes were observing the almost empty restaurant and about two free tables outside. I just went with it though it seemed a bit odd. We got seated at a table in a corner by the bar. So basically, we waited about 20 minutes after we were seated, and no one showed up to even ask us what we wanted to drink. We decided to decided to just leave. The aesthetic of the restaurant is nice but the service was poor. read more

Ok, I got in here and the place looked nice: full of eclectic stuff that made it live up to its name, Cosy. There are antlers made into lights, various hunting trophies on the walls, lots and lots of wood and the lighting is excellent. Unfortunately from an excellent first impression the only way I was going to be disappointed was by the follow up, and I proceeded to be disappointed with the kind of brutal efficiency than one would expect of the likes of Ryanair. We arrived a little early (half an hour) by design so that we could have a drink at the bar before dinner. Despite 6 people behind the bar, it took half an hour to serve the 3 people in front of us (I'm not even exaggerating) so that we spent a pointless half hour standing around, unable to chat as we were keeping an eye on the service, thirsty to boot. By the end of the half hour we were shown our table, with the promise of the drinks to come. Our order was taken pretty quickly: starters, lamb for main, with a couple of glasses of wine. Our previously ordered drinks turned up, and then the wrong starter, which was duly sent back. Then the main arrived before the starter came back. The lamb was not lamb: tough as old boots it had to be mutton, especially as it still had undercooked fat on it. Vegetables (swede, which I love) were cold. To top it off, as the plates were cleared away, the glasses of wine arrived. At least the desert was ok. So bad food and disorganised (although to be honest pleasant) service. My stars are as follows: decor, service, food, excellence (a strange one, but allows me to reward that extra something that makes an evening). This place gets 1 for decor, 0.5 for service, 0.5 for food and 0 for excellence: 2 overall. The meal, plus 2 cocktails and 2 glasses of cheapish wine came in at around £60. read more

In Feb 2013, I rated Cosy Club as 4 stars. Since then I've been back a handful of times and was disappointed to find that standards in service and in food quality have slipped noticeably. I had mac'n'cheese one time and the portion was paltry and the flavour lacking. Showed up without a reservation on Saturday. Seated us anyways, though our was early in the evening. Nice food, a gastropub take on your usual pub grub. Great cocktails, had an English Garden, wasn't disappointed. My friend had a Martini that ended up being a pricey option as we got charged separately for the gin as well as the 3 drops of vermouth in it Weird. Were seated next to radiator which quickly became super hot, but seeing as it was Saturday and we had no reservations, I can't complain. Would recommend. Would come back. read more

Great atmosphere and decor but pretty mediocre food on my recent visit. It was great all round when it first opened

Funky micro-chain, looks extra-lovely from the outside, though up close the cracks start to show and the modern paint. Art Nouveau stylings, nice folk, decent beer, fine food, though a bit slow and a bit... nothing's wrong, but nothing particularly stands out. Local ales, and friendly enough, so all is good for us. read more

Went here on a Thursday night and I have to say I wasn't impressed with the service. Our drink order was taken at the same time as our food and after 20 minutes of waiting I had to go and ask where the drinks were. To be fair to the staff they couldn't have been more apologetic and we got the drinks for free with a second drink order free on top. The service improved dramatically after that so hopefully it was a one off and they will learn from the experience. The food was also a little on the average side. It took a while to arrive - which again to be fair they did warn us about because they were 'busy' although the downstairs area was only half full and upstairs was completely empty. There just didn't seem to be enough staff on. The quality of the food was average, I agree with other comments about the chips being a bit anaemic and the quality of the steak was pretty poor considering the price. Rump steak is not an excuse to serve poor quality. The atmosphere was good and the bar itself is very nice and a pleasant place to be. I may return here but will take a bit of convincing. read more

Visited here on Sunday 22nd May on recommendation, we were not disappointed. We felt the place had a lot of atmosphere, staff were attentive but not overly so, the portion size was more than adequate and the puddings were to die for! My sister (from Australia) had the game stew as they do not get anything like that over there and she said it was amazing. Now need to try the one in Bristol!
