They represented the other side, so I obviously expected disagreement. What I did not expect was how much more complicated, expensive and adversarial the situation became once they were heavily involved. I received very confident allegations and correspondence that repeatedly pushed me to go back to the actual emails, notices, dates and documents. The more carefully I checked the underlying record, the less intimidated I became. Ironically, their approach motivated me to learn the process, preserve everything and understand remedies I had never even considered before. From my perspective, that ultimately created far more leverage for me than I had before the firm became involved. If you are considering hiring them, do your own due diligence rather than relying on the marketing or star rating. Ontario LTB decisions are public and searchable, and prospective clients can look at a representative's actual case history and read the decisions for themselves. My takeaway is simple: good legal representation should clarify a dispute and improve the client's position. In my experience with glenlake, the process seemed to become larger and more difficult while giving the person on the other side more reasons to scrutinize what was being done. I would not choose this firm to represent me.
