I am in the process of preparing for Tax Season 2021-2022. I was previously employed at: Safeway, Arco, Chevron and People Ready. I have already gone to The Federal Building, in Santa Rosa California, and have papers on 3 (three) of these locations, that I worked at last year. Arco, Chevron and People Ready, show up with The I.R.S., Safeway does not show up with The I.R.S. I have written an email to Safeway, in regards to The Identity Theft that I reported, with The Santa Rosa Police Department. They are processing the information now. Thank You! Thank you for Your Consideration. Take Care. Maybe they are fine at the services they usually work on, I can't speak to those, but they really…read moreshould not be handling government grants, etc. It's beed a total mess trying to get my covid grant hammered out, and yes, my landlord has been a big part of the problem (probably the biggest), but Shelter Inc. has not been that great either. They are unresponsive through any means besides commenting to them publicly on facebook... they will not reply to my emails until I do this each time. Also, they originally said they would (in no uncertain terms) cover a certain amount of my past-due rent, and now that they finally sent out the official documentation for it, it is for almost $1,000 less than what they originally promised/what I owe. And this is already after they sent the check for this lower amount... So I hope they can send another check with the remaining ~$1,000 that they already said I was awarded and which I still owe... Also, the message that accompanied the document to my landlord was very hard to parse with many grammar mistakes, so I do wonder if poor literacy of some of the employees is part of the problem here. Overall, it's been a very frustrating situation, and I'm glad that the latest set of rent relief grants is being handled directly by the government rather than through an NPO that is clearly not equipped to handle such a big responsibility, at least not on top of their other normal services. Also, they collaborate with pro-eugenics, anti-autism groups like Autism Speaks, and when I wrote a comment pointing this out on their facebook post that was authored by Autism Speaks, they deleted my comment!! Very ironic, especially as I and my roommate are both neurodivergent clients of theirs now... but on top of silencing autistic people on a post about autistic people, they really shouldn't be censoring any input from the public as they are serving the public and receiving government money. I hope they can improve since it's good to have (I believe) a secular homeless shelter, which is unfortunately rare.

This organization could be great, unfortunately it has poor leadership. Each year they find ways to pad their pockets, while staff turn over and lack of training weigh this place down. Please go to another nonprofit organization if you are truly in need of services. Services here are loosely provided and the in-house plan allows for the long term team to pad paperwork reflecting compliance with program agreements while skimming for themselves.
