It's a tricky place to find, but you'll definitely want to. Expect it to be busy: locals know what a gem this cafe is. Lots of sandwich options - all on the housemade baguette AND made to order too! - with many vegetarian and vegan choices.
We had the Avocado, Sweet Potato Falafel, & Tomato Chutney (£4.30, vegan) and the Brie & Cranberry sandwiches (£3.80, vegetarian). They were equally delicious in their own right, generously filled, and satisfying! I would absolutely order both of them again!
Despite the crowd, the small space was clean and the staff was friendly (taking an extra moment to verify vegan ingredients, for example; and not just for us, but we overheard them checking-in with everyone in line about their order). And they moved people through the queue quite quickly. We brought our sandwiches to St Edward's Church and had a picnic. There's lots of other things to get here too if sandwiches aren't your thing (but these really should be) like salads, baked potatoes, cakes, Scotch eggs, and sausage rolls! read more
