I was present at the event Tammy W. is referring to, and her review does not reflect what actually happened. She was involved in a serious disruption during the event, which caused a lot of stress for the couple and guests. It's clear that this review is coming from a place of personal frustration rather than an honest assessment of the venue. From what I saw, the venue was clean and well-kept, exactly like the pictures. The bridal suite was private and comfortable, and the staff was professional and attentive throughout. I didn't witness any of the issues she's describing with noise, cleanliness, or parking. In fact, the team went above and beyond to keep everything running smoothly despite the challenging situation. It's upsetting to see someone try to damage a venue's reputation with such an unfair account. If you're considering booking here, I'd strongly encourage visiting in person or speaking with other guests--my experience was truly positive. read more

Don't let the pictures fool you. The staff and service is horrible, if you have an outside event you will hate the cars driving by with loud music or sirens from police in the area. The gazebo is dirty and could use a simple power washing. If you're a bride and need your own space don't book this venue, there is one small room and it gets hot or you can use the main house but everyone who needs to use the restroom will walk through your space. They up charge every little add on so be prepared for that as well. Parking is also an issue if you have more than 10 cars. Overall, what could be a descent venue is not what it appears to be. read more

Wow. We just finished celebrating our baby's first birthday at the Romack house. We wanted to have a low-key, casual, yet classy indoor/outdoor event without breaking the bank. Enter Nancy and David Gillespie to the rescue! It was love at first sight when we first saw the venue but the weather got chilly on our original scheduled date. Nancy and David were incredibly accommodating and worked with us to reschedule the event to an alternate date without any hassle. The weather gods cooperated and we were able to have one of the most memorable gatherings at the Cottage Charm. Nancy and David helped me decorate the outdoor arbor area for the birthday theme and they even obliged our request to stay for the catered lunch. David also provided 4 bluetooth outdoor speakers for our use and we were able to stream music throughout the event. All of our guests had nothing but great things to say about the location and venue. The kids attending the party had a blast running around the prefect turf and the parents were happy and relaxed through the event, score! I can't say enough about Nancy and David's hospitality, and we will definitely be going back for future events. What a quaint lovely place in Katy...5 stars all the way! read more

Last weekend we had a Celebration Of Life at Cottage Charm @ Romack House. Dave & Nancy were so helpful to our family. We knew our beloved family member was near the end but did not know exactly which day it would be. Nancy & I kept in communication & when the time came, both Dave & Nancy were there to help us. The cottage itself is lovely. So many beautiful set ups, ready to go. Given the circumstances, we did not want to get crazy decorating. The cottage itself provided all of the decoration we needed. The commercial kitchen was ideal for the caterers to serve the food. There are several outdoor spaces which gave the guests places to mix & mingle. It was simply lovely & exactly what our loved one wanted. I can't express my gratitude enough for the kindness of Dave & Nancy. Their flexibility was appreciated beyond words. read more

I want to thank Ms Nancy for her helpfulness and professionalism. While planning my father's memorial service we had to change locations at the last minute. Nancy came through for us. We were to able book the venue for the day we wanted and the time we wanted. There was a wedding scheduled the next day and a very gracious and kind bride and groom allowed us to use the venue even though they had begun to set up for the wedding the next day. Everything just fell into place. We had a wonderful memorial for my dad. The place was perfect to gather friends and family in a comfortable environment. There was plenty of room and with a catering house serving food was easy and efficient. The price was very reasonable as well. I can't compliment Nancy and Cottage Charm enough for what they did to help us in a difficult time. read more

I loved this place! I had a Bohemian themed baby shower here December 2016 and it was perfect. There are not many places like this in Houston so it was nice to find something different.The owner Nancy was super nice and helpful throughout the whole process. I'm a wedding Officiant and have done several weddings here, I love it. It's a very unique spot for your smaller wedding. There's a lovely gazebo in the backyard and at night there are twinkle lights in the trees. It is a very charming old home, it's like getting married at your grandmas home. This is a newer wedding venue, but it's worth looking into if you are into an almost fully DIY wedding with the ability to bring in your own food/alcohol/DJ/cake/etc without all of that being dictated to you by a large venue that wants to charge you $5000+ for the venue itself and places a minimum you must spend on food with THEIR caterer, which gives you only a couple menu options. The venue booking cost itself is extremely reasonable at $2500'ish and the owner of the venue, Nancy, is very helpful both before and on the day of the wedding. She offered us anything she had on site as optional decor for our wedding (we took her up on this and made it our own), provides white linen for all the tables, and the place can accommodate at least 120 people (as that was the number we had at our wedding). We had rain on the day of our wedding, but they've got a huge tent and an indoor area (the Romack House) that offers coverage for about 90-100 people. We loved the feel of the venue from the get-go and are happy we booked...the low (comparatively, when looking at venues in Houston) cost of the venue itself allowed us to go a bit more extravagant in other areas such as the food (sushi and such) and entertainment (photo booth/bubble tea station/decor) aspects of the wedding. It perfectly complimented the style and charm that I wanted my wedding to represent. The owners were very easy to work with and were very accommodating to my requests. I had my baby shower here February 2015. This was a cute little gem tucked away in the heart of downtown Katy, Texas. I wanted to have the most dainty and delicate baby shower since this was my third baby but my FIRST daughter! My mother and I stopped in on a cold winter day and I knew this was the place the moment I stepped foot on that porch. This place was everything I wanted and more. Nancy and her sister were just the sweetest people you will ever meet. They helped my team set up prior to and a little after the shower started as well. They had a lot of beautiful touches available for use there in the space. My theme was a tea party with blush and white tones along with soft touches with flowers and lace. The pictures from the event came out beautifully and that had a lot to do with the joy in the room and the gorgeous setting! All and all I look forward to more events here! I really want to come back and have a tea party for my daughter (when she is a little older) and experience a full-circle moment! I have wonderful memories of this place, the people, and my event! The previous review is unfair based on just driving by. This is an old home that was converted into a quaint venue. It has appeal and a lot of charm. This would be a nice place for bridal showers or tea parties. read more
