Our high school has been going to Safari Texas for years for our annual theater banquet. The kids have always loved taking pictures on the property, the meal is great and it's a lovely evening. As a parent volunteer, working with Hetal was amazing! She was super responsive, attentive and easy to work with! This years banquet was one of my favorites and we moved to the Forum Ballroom. We attended a wedding ceremony at the Safari Texas Ranch; located in between Sugar Land and Cinco Ranch; near the Aliana area. It was a very confusing spot to find as it's situated in the suburbs and we thought it might've been the incorrect GPS address. There is a huge parking lot which is poorly designed and multiple venues that make it quite confusing to navigate around if you're going there for the first time. Not quite sure what the appeal to this venue is besides the "wildlife" but we did see a few wandering peacocks screaming on top of trees and defecating around the parking lot. There were 2-3 zebras and a few deer behind one of their fences but we did not see anything that would describe this location as a safari. The venue itself was slightly dated and honestly not what you would think of for the more modern millennial wedding locations/ aesthetics. The men's bathroom had the lovely 3 urinal with no divider setup and the interior of the venue we attended reminded me of a Luby's. read more

We chose to have our wedding at Safari Texas Ranch, and we were so happy we did! The venue is a one stop shop for all events! The venue is huge, and you are bound to find the ballroom that suits your style and vision perfectly. They have beautiful gardens and you may even spot peacocks roaming which was a beautiful touch to our wedding. They have extensive menus (of all cultures you may think of) for food and bar that you may customize; we chose the Asian family style menu with open bar, and our guests were raving about how the food was all so delicious and were well fed and the bar was great too! The staff were very professional and pleasant to work with, making the whole wedding planning process so much easier for us and our vendors. What a unique and beautiful venue! Had no idea where we were going for this wedding. Had no idea it's really a ranch lol the only issue is having to find where the ceremony was outside. The signs were a bit off and unclear so groups of people were lost a bit trying to find the exact garden area it's at. Some were late. Other than that it was perfect weather for an outdoor wedding. Any hotter would have been hard. But it was fine. It was pretty out. Our friends got married smoothly. The outdoor ceremony will make for good pictures. We also enjoyed some time before the reception walking the grounds. Our daughter loved how there were animals! Peacocks walking about. Zebras and even goats coming up to us. It was totally fun. The reception area once inside was nice and cold. And white. Very pretty. Loved how there were appetizers while we waited for dinner and the wedding party to enter. Everything seemed to go quite smoothly which I know is owed to the coordinator at this venue. With so many guests and tables they coordinated it pretty well. Was efficient. The sound system for the speeches could have been louder so the back of the room can hear better. But the food I thought was pretty yummy. Was thrilled to find out it was Chinese food. Quite fun and tasty. Really enjoyed sharing those family style dishes. I think lobster was still my fave out of all the dishes. Ample and nice sized to share. Cake was pretty. I think this venue is quite unique. Quite smart in a way too. It can have multiple weddings going at the same time too. I am always a fan of a venue serving it's own food inhouse. It comes out hotter and fresher vs catered from elsewhere. All in all pretty impressed. Definitely one of the better wedding venues we've been to and we've been to a lot of weddings. We had our wedding January 2021. We worked with Sohini in planning our wedding at Safari Ranch. We initially booked the Texas ballroom anticipating a larger head count. Due to Covid we were able to move to the infinity ballroom due to lower guest count. Sohini and her team did a good job at being precautions during the pandemic and ensuring safety protocols were followed. Monica Coimbra at Safari Texas was literally the best. Three of my groomsmen who also got married at Safari, had Monica help out as well and LOVED HER. Highly recommend her, as she goes out of her way to make sure everything is perfect the day of. Leading up to the wedding day, she walked us through so many options and helped us out of so many situations. Planning a wedding during a pandemic can be stressful enough, but she made it so much easier!! It really could not have gone better than it did, and we thank your staff for their efforts and hospitality. Not only was it a stress-free and wonderful experience for us, but our guests loved being there and gushed to us with praise - about the food, about the venue, and so on. So thank you again. This was the biggest night of our lives, and everything you did was noticed and felt, and we are so happy. We'd like to just properly acknowledge with some specificity some of the people / aspects of the service: The wait staff were so professional and courteous. Everything ran on time. And honestly, we didn't even notice them. They were invisible in the best possible way, if that makes sense. They did a fantastic job! The gentleman who were at the two bars were so nice and welcoming to our guests. We received many comments from our guests about what a good job they did! There was a gentleman who was helping Sohini Tomar the night of our reception. I sincerely apologize - I cannot remember his name :( But as the groom, I spoke with him several times during the course of the night. He was so helpful and conscientious. The personnel in the office who we briefly spoke with when we dropped off payments. The personnel who hosted us during our tasting. I'm surely forgetting some people, but just know that everyone who helped us was wonderful. The chefs! The food was incredible. Just to give some context, our menu had both Vietnamese and Indian food items. We know this is probably fairly irregular, and wanted to thank the administration for allowing us to have such a unique food experience for our guests. All of the guests loved it. I cannot emphasize this enough. And the food itself was incredible. I cannot tell you how many people on both sides of our wedding guests asked about the food, where was it from, etc, and just expressed how much they enjoyed it. We've all been to weddings where perhaps the venue is an A but the food is maybe a B or a C. We were so happy that the food for our party was incredible. Again, everyone really loved it - and to be very honest, this was a TOUGH crowd who you all wowed, who have all had their share of less-than-great Indian and Vietnamese dining experiences. You all did it beautifully. And finally, a HUGE thank you to Sohini Tomar, who was our point of contact throughout the whole experience of planning and executing on our reception. She was so easy to work with, and we were always sure that Sohini listened to us and was able to address our particular concerns or sticking points to the best of her ability. That is honestly all you can want. We know for example that Sohini helped make sure that some late arriving guests were properly fed and seated, and it means alot to us that she was able to make them feel welcome without a hitch. Again, everything on 1/22 went beautifully, and we know how much of a big role Sohini played in making that happen for us. We've tried to capture some of this feedback for you, so that we can properly acknowledge what a great experience you've provided to us on such an important occasion for both of our families. What's better than a partying it up at a wedding? Partying it up at a wedding with yelpers! I was lucky enough to be invited to our very own Ako's wedding. There was a good amount of yelpers in attendance and Ako made the mistake of allowing us all to congregate at on table. This wedding venue is simply beautiful. It's a bit further out, but actually just down the street from where I grew up. I had driven past this place many many times growing up not really knowing what it was. I was so grateful to finally be able to venture inside. They are multiple rooms of varying sizes here. They have huge giant ballrooms for the extravagant and smaller halls for the more intimate weddings. I would take a look at this place for your future receptions. read more

I've been to two wedding receptions here, nearly decades apart, but it's pretty much an unchanged kind of place as it's a venue exclusively for weddings, parties, and etc. This "ranch" comprises of a few ballrooms/reception rooms and I guess you have your pick of which one depending on how many guests you anticipate and what kind of event you have in mind. The website does offer gorgeous photos illustrating the property and options, but obviously embellished with some wide angle shots and decor (which of course, you'd be responsible for your own, I assume?). The "Safari" part of this venue probably stems from the fact that they have random animals wandering around outside - but I think they're mostly frightened by the noisy pandemonium that often results during heavy alcohol consumption, so I don't think you can count on ooo-ing and ahhh-ing over these creatures unless you book a daytime event. I think it's quite cheesy and dumb, but I guess good try for novelty value. I haven't bothered to explore this venue outside of the events I attended, but the website does seem to showcase a gazebo-like structure, a bridge over an artificial pond . . . . I suppose it'd be picturesque if you required photographic opportunities at some point during your event. i guess this is an okay venue if you are wary of hotel-sited celebrations, but that whole Texas-themed everything kind of feels a bit contrived to me. We celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary at Safari Texas Palm Ball room. Chloe was ore host for our event. It was well organized, planned and coordinated events. Staff was amazing. Bartender was excellent. He was polite and friendly. What can I say about food!! It was one of the best food we had for this kind of event. Been to several (probably close to 100) weddings here over the years and have also hosted my child's 1st birthday party in one of the smaller ballrooms. From the perspective of a guest, this place is not well-maintained. The parking lot design is terrible, the lines are faded making it difficult to see where the parking spaces are. The bathrooms in the main (Texas) ballroom are always gross, smelling like sewage and often times something is leaking and the floors are wet. I've noticed at several receptions that the plate chargers on the tables are chipped. The food is usually a miss - the standard rubber chicken ensemble, typically lacking flavor. I noticed at a recent wedding reception that they now offer Indian food as an in-house catering option provided by the facility. I'm surprised it took them so long considering Indian weddings have been one of their main revenue sources. When we had my son's 1st birthday there 12 years ago, we chose to do the in-house Thai food catering. I remember when we had the food tasting it was really good, but the day of the event the food was so spicy that multiple guests complained to us. Overall, I think the food is not consistent, the venue is not kept clean and maintained, and the staff tends to be rude. But they are one of the few venues in Houston that can hold large amounts of guests while being cost efficient. And Safari's management definitely benefits from that. read more

The decor their staff created exceeded our expectations. The food and service were some of the best we have ever experienced. We plan to have our prom there in the coming years. As an event planner I would highly NOT recommend Safari, solely for their extremely poor customer service. During this pandemic all of our vendors have been extremely helpful and supportive to our clients but Allan has been the complete opposite. His tone, the way he speak and his rude behavior is something NO ONE should have to deal with. For a place that does events and receptions every week, you'd think they'd have a more inviting entrance and better signage once you get into the place. We drove in for a recent wedding and reception. We saw little signs pointing us in the general direction of the wedding. We parked and proceeded to wander the ground with several other people all going to the same wedding. We actually ended up inside a huge ballroom which was the wrong place. This place is confusing and not visitor friendly, which is very odd since most people who come here are first time guests. We wandered some more and finally bumped into someone who pointed us to the right place. I am very unimpressed with the organization and signage in this place. Get it together! The chapel where the wedding took place was very cute, the lighting was nice, and everything went smoothly. After the wedding, we followed the hoards to the reception. The place was very wood paneled country. The food was catered by Safari Texas Ranch and it was just ok. Everything that was brought in by the bride and groom was great, but I'd skip their food catering if I were you. This place is so close to where I live, so getting there was a snap! But, I wouldn't suggest it to people I know just because of the confusion for guests. read more

We had our reception at the Infinity Ballroom and it was beautiful. The cocktail hour snacks were tasty and the Indian food was on point. The main room was large and for our large guest count (greater than 700 people) the space was more than enough. The main entree was beautiful and tasty and all our guests really enjoyed it! We loved that they had an alcohol package catered to the South Indian community as it had all the favorites of our community members. We were there for a friends wedding. And since we were engaged we thought it was a great idea to take a look at this venue. It was a bit confusing since there was so many events going on at once to find the ballroom. There was really no staff there to guide us so it took a little longer. Once we found the place it was a sauna in the ballroom. Warm was an understatement. We tried to ask the staff to see if they can make it cooler but they did not seem to care or understand what I was saying. The bride and groom looked really stressed I think because the guest was unhappy. The food was not tasty but bland. It seem like they were short on staff. Later to find out one of the bridesmaid said that the waitstaff was helping another wedding so they came in late and this is why the food started late. The building was not well maintained it seem like. And we found bugs in the room. We spoke with the family after the event and they even told us to avoid this place. We had a horrible experience elsewhere and came straight to Safari where Alyssa met with us the same day and was able to pick up everything. And we were not disappointed. Even before booking, safari made the showing and booking process very friendly. The contract was clearly written out, and the coordinator explained each clause in detail. They were very patient with both the bride and groom's family and allowed us to ask all our questions. Before our event, Sohini was brought on as our coordinator. This was in the peak of the pandemic. She was very helpful, knowledgeable, and cooperative throughout the entire process. She answered all our concerns for the event and the pandemic. She worked with our vendors well and made sure we had everything running smoothly the day of the event. Sohini and the owner agreed to renegotiate our initial contract the month before the wedding to adjust for sizing and events because of COVID. They were fair in their pricing and worked with us extensively with many unknowns and constantly changing plans because of COVID. In regards to the food- we had a great tasting before the event and the same quality was achieved the day of the event. All of our guests praised the food. We also had great remarks about the bar. They ran the 2 bars efficiently during the night. Guests also appreciated the service overall. We ultimately landed on Safari as a venue pre-COVID because of the new Infinity Ballroom and outdoor wedding option and we can say we are very happy with our selection post-pandemic.
